Up in the Air

"Good morning, Lalea!" Someone's singing and pouring little water into the petite's face. It's early and she's holding a watering can. "Ouch, it hurts! Argh! Stop it!" A few drops fall into her nose, and the new girl reacts. "W-who are you? H-h-how do you know my name?" asks the annoyed girl, slowly opening her eyes after stuttering. "What... is this place? Where am I?" asks the ginger, she gets up, looking around until things appear less blurry in her eyes. The circular wall and the round floor were made of white bricks, this room confuses her.

"Hey, I'm Rose. Nice to meet you, Lalea. From now on, you'll be my roommate!" she speaks loudly. The woman with short curly hair uses the leftover water, and the new girl is now wide awake. "Do I know you? I... I can't remember anything at all!" She sniffs a floral scent in her room, so the mean lady has been watering the garden outside. This clueless is looking through a window, it's extremely sunny today, and the sunshine appears so bright that the frown face pulls a blanket to hide her eyes, she doesn't want to go outside.

"Just get dressed, I'm going to prepare breakfast for all of us. There's an important letter for you to read," Rose ends their conversation by closing the door. "Ah-choo!" Lalea wants to ask the young lady something, she just found the bathroom. The girl with a bedhead gets out of her unfamiliar bed and takes a shower instead. "Oh, only pink tulip dresses..." Finding out that similar-looking outfits were put nicely in her white closet, she began picking one by one in order. "Wow... These look amazing!" Lalea's in awe, this goofy stares at herself in the mirror, it takes her an hour to try all of them out. She's turning around and posing like a princess, although she can't remember what real princesses look like, her long straight orange hair is shimmering. This silly's holding her floral skirt with both arms to see her feet, walking downstairs carefully.

Stopping to hear a sound, the sizzle of the cooking food she's trying to guess. Rose takes charge of today's breakfast, and the newcomer can smell something familiar to her. "Probably salted meat!" After finding the correct answer, and getting excited, this innocent girl moves steadily but faster. "Oh, there you are. I was about to call you" Her new friend's frying the slices on an iron pan, she's trying to dodge boiling oil drops. "My feet hurt," Lalea sits down and drinks a cup of water. "Would you help me out with the bread please?" Her roommate gives Lalea a small cooking knife. She's slicing a big loaf, and bread crumbs keep falling and stay on her new favorite dress. The ginger head brushes them off in annoyance, Rosa notices and giggles. "Bacon is done, I'm going to fry two eggs" The young woman places the dish on the table. "Ouch! It's hot", Lalea's picking a slice by hand. "Would you get some fruits from the garden outside?" Rosa smiles slightly and points at the door.

Closing the front door, she immediately drops her woven basket, the trees and bushes make her feel small. This curious ginger was standing and walking on her toes to look around the front yard. Pulling a white grid mat from drying clothes racks and then putting it under the first tree she sees, it is mischievous of her to tie knots on the fabric corners. Lalea steps onto the newly washed mat and raises a picker pole, but mulberries fall into the temporary large bag she made without her using the tool, the wind is blowing hard into trees, and she measures her step carefully to not tread on the fruits. The carefree drags the bag by herself to another tree, waiting but none of the blackberries fall, so she tries holding the picker higher to harvest some with a pouty face. Fruits overloaded the fabric space after she moved the bag to other trees, Lalea put her hands on her hips and seemed satisfied, she took a break, it was getting cloudy in the sky, and she couldn't see the light which hurt her eyes. "Wait. How long have I been here?" About to doze off, the girl talks to herself while lying on the backyard grass. "Oh no, got to put some of these into the basket, if I don't, Rose will scold me!", she gets up instantly, grabs the berries, and throws them into a small basket using her both hands, Lalea also stuffs many into her mouth.

"Rose, I'm back. Look at how many I can get!" The cheeky girl shows her very first achievement here, her blasting voice catches the young lady off guard. Cracking the last egg on a frying pan, Rose gets a minor cooking oil burn, putting out the fire, she turns the faucet on, running cool water over her burn spot for minutes. This rascal's chewing berries but the redhead has doubts about her. Rose opens the door without hesitation, she starts walking to the strange bag that doesn't belong to her, it is dyed multi-colors and smells like mature fruits. The older unties the knots, "for White Pawn D2", handwritten in the corner, Lalea's holding her breath and preparing herself to get scolded despite not being ready for it. "It's a gift for newcomers on February 29th, but you're the only newbie today. It smells nice, can't blame you for being naughty, you're lucky!" Rose feels relieved, Lalea lets out a long breath and the young woman hands the item to a laundry lady. "Hi, I'm Olivia. Don't worry I can wash yours quickly!" she greets the youngest member with her overwhelming soap scent.

"Dear Lord, we thank You for this breakfast and the chance to start our day together. Bless this food to our bodies and our day to Your Glory. In Jesus' name, Amen." Closing his eyes, Vin is in charge of saying the prayer before eating breakfast with this non-blood-related family today. Holding a fist in front of his mouth, he lets out a burp silently. "Welcome to the Black Square D2, from now on, this place will be your new home!" Vin shares the food with the ginger girl, the white falling out of his mouth while taking a bite of a fried egg, seems to be in a hurry when eating with two other boys, he wipes his dry lips and hot sauce is smudged on his face. "Vin, when you finish breakfast, please continue your job," a butcher reminds him of slaughtering one pig while holding huge knives with both arms, tilting his head at a stone smokehouse behind the tower. The man smears blood on his apron and a few fresh drops turn the members off, he smells like burnt wood scent. "Oh, hello there!" waving at his new sister with his big brother grin, which scares Lalea off, she's hiding her face and eating some bacon slices under the table. "OK, stop, you should eat some now," Olivia hits him several times, "Oh, come on, don't be serious," that guy bursts into giggles, he gently puts the sharp knives down and raises both of his hands in front of Olivia, shrugging and unbothered.

"Don't ask me, this will answer any questions you have in your mind," Rosa hands the new family member her rolled letter. One of her eating habits is putting berries on a slice of bread, folding the slices in half then smashing them quietly.

"To the lovely Lalea, Beloved of Father," flattening her letter, the petite reads.
