The Dance of Silk

The Dance of Silk

it was a normal day. the sun was shining brightly and the scent of delicious food could be smelled everywhere inside the finely adorned restaurant. I had come there with a good friend of mine, Sam. he is a man I've known since birth, and we had always been friends. we had met up at restaurant Pop quite a while ago. at the moment, little did I know of what was to come.

- Ahem, if I may?

I looked over to the scene at the end of the restaurant, and so did Sam. our food was getting a bit cold, but we did not come here for the food. it was for the performance! I peaked my ears and turned my attention at the rather chubby man on the stage. he seemed a bit nervous, as he was sweating a little. he was wearing a red and black suit, a very nice one, but the one wearing it truly did not suit it. his face showed that he was a gentleman, but his ominous suit made it confusing. the man looked about the restaurant, before opening his mouth wide.

- I shall be singing "The Dance Of Silk". have a good time.

Then the piano started playing a tender tune, it sounded like the pianist was just lightly tapping the keys, yet it was so very beautiful. then the sax started playing, the bass, the trumpets and lastly the trombone. it was graceful, beautiful, yet so ominous it sent a chill down my spine. I looked at the other guests, but they were all slumped over, their whites showing. I hastily looked at Sam, only to find him looking at me, terrified. I had a cold sweat and tried to stand, but it was as if the light tunes had gotten so heavy I couldn't even move a finger. it was then that he started singing.

I could not for the life of me hear what he was singing. all I saw was his triumphant grin and... his eyes... I have never seen such terrifying eyes. if one had not heard this "song" they would undoubtedly think of him as a nice old man, made for hugging his grandchildren. but they had not seen these eyes. I cowered in fear as the room started to take a yellow, golden hue. I looked at Sam sitting next to me for the last time. his eyes were glowing with a scarlet red. his eyes turned to me, and our eyes locked together. I cried some sort of yellow substance, and he cried a scarlet one. I tried to talk to him, say anything. I wanted to say goodbye or anything.

I then blacked out.
