37. Interrogation, Not Really

It would be nice if you would point out the mistakes. Thanks

“I told you already, I don’t know anything. As you can see, I’m just his slave.”

I answer the red demon in front of me. He lifts up his showing he’s looking down on me.

It’s been a couple days since we got captured. I answered any tricky question by using “I’m just a slave”. They still asking us with no clear direction or clear aim. I think it means the other’s investigation is not too troublesome.

But still, I worry about Erfia. Suddenly this blonde woman came at me and took Erfia with her. Mada said it’s okay. He just asks Erfia to hold for a few days without us on her place. Who is that woman? Is it someone he knew too? Ah, it’s pissing me off.

“That’s it for now. I’ll come back later.”

The red demon stands and leaves me alone in this room. A small box room with cold metal as its wall and some mirror on its side. There’s only one lamp in the ceiling of this room. What a weird room. They don’t seem to put any bar or something like that. But, something in this room prevents me from using magic at all. I’ve tried small magic even a grand kill magic but it’s not working at all.

Mada, I don’t know how you will do it but get us out of here quickly.

***

So far I could trick them all. I just hope the others did the same.

When they walked us inside this building, I observed the building. They’re using a special metal as floor line on the lobby. I’m guessing the floor above it is the same. But when we went underground, the special metal is being used as a wall. These special metal are called orociana. It’s a special metal developed by police in the Demon’s Realm to handle criminals from outside. It will disrupt the mana flow in the person’s body so they can’t control their mana well.

Normally the police will use it as a baton stick, whip, or bullet. But they just use it as a coating as a measure so the person can’t control their mana well. It will help for arresting them. But if they’re using it as a wall like this room, then no mage is capable of cast any magic. Even inner energy user like Kurua and Eri won’t be able to use their power as inner energy is another form of mana manipulation.

I look into the mirror at my left. “Hey, is there no one coming in? If you got no more questions can you let us out? I got business to run you know.”

I don’t know whether there’s a person by the other side of the mirror or not. They might be on break or they’re listening to me from another room. I see at least 3 voice transmissions in this room. This city is the worst one on this planet. Can’t they leave us for some privacy? Damn that Lilith.

~clack~

The door handle move and shows me a figure of a long haired blonde woman comes in. Uahh, the last person I’d like to see right now is coming in.

“I’m coming in.” She says as she closes the door.

“Ah, c’mon. This is your fucking place.”

She just smiles. She has changed her outfit. Now she’s wearing a casual white jacket with a jean and boots. Jean is pretty rare in this planet as it gets heavy when drenched in water. But the noble of this nation got some extra power of controlling heat around their body. When their jeans got drenched in water, they simply make it hot enough to make it dry. So, it’s only used by the noble of this nation.

If you look at her closely, you won’t believe she’s an old hag that’s been live for centuries. That’s normal as she stopped aging at age of 33.

“It’s been a long time, isn’t it?” She opens the conversation.

She walks to the corner of the room and creates a new symbol atop the current transmission symbol.

“With this, they won’t be able to hear us.” She smiles and sits in front of me.

“Oy, are you sure about this? You are the first Lucifer the Pride.”

“Of course. It will be a pain in the ass if they listen to our conversation and shower me with question later.” She answers me. “Now, tell me your plan!”

I sigh. “Before I start. I’d like to ask where did you keep my daughter?”

“Ah, it seems your disease is not cured yet. You pedophile.”

I ignore her words.

“Don’t worry, she’s safe in my own house in the side of the city. I’ve got a lot of houses at each city you know.”

“Yeah, at least 93 houses.” I play along with her. “Or should I say, a mansion or a castle?”

Telling her place a house is a kind of understatement. Each of her places is at least 10,000 square meters and has at least 3 floors exclude the basement. That’s just the house. If you include the garden, the swimming pool, and anything in her property, you could tell her place is the definition of luxury and noble. Well, at least Erfia is safe. As far as I know, her butler, maid, and servant are a bunch of loyal people. They’re loyal to Lucifer of the first generation, not the Lucifer family.

“How about this?” She proposed an idea. “I tell you everything I know about you and then, you tell me the rest of it.”

I hate to say it, but lying to thousands years old lady won’t take me anywhere. So, I nod at her.

“Mada Jeian of the Vorks, real name Mada Arcaness, Alias Mada the Raider.”

Damn, just as I thought, she knew.

“You got your first God item few years ago, the Keeper.” She looks at my right hand. “and since you hold the Perfect Role Play, I guess the info of you’re the one behind the Fall of Ul Thadur is correct. So you come to this nation of mine to take the God Items held by the demon race and the one held by that beast man on the train two days ago, isn’t it?”

You could be reading stolen content. Head to Royal Road for the genuine story.

I clicked my tongue. “So, the immortality didn’t so useless after all. Did you use that underground sect of yours?”

“Of course I am. But still, I can’t believe you’re Mada the Raider, sweetie.”

I scratch my head. “It seems you still can’t decide what you would call me.”

“Well, it’s important you know. We are a lover after all.”

“Were.” I correct her. “We were a lover.”

“Okay, back to the main topic. Is there something missing from my explanation?”

I silent for a moment. Now that since she knows about my identity, it’s no surprise if she knew about Sairkhan and Mammon. But, I need to make sure.

“Before I fill you, tell me. What do you know of Sairkhan and Mammon?”

“Mmm, Sairkhan and Mammon? You mean how Mammon been harvesting pain and fear and use it to develop Markozias all these times and hoping the other Seven Deadly Sins won’t figure it out?” She answers me without showing any surprised face at all.

“So all of you know eh.”

“Well, the previous generation knows. But the current ones know nothing of it.”

“So it means he harvested pain and fear since the last generation?”

“Yeah, that’s right.” She agrees with me. “You know, Mammon is the weakest of all Seven Deadly Sins. Their family is also not so bright so Markozias has fell into bankruptcy few times in the past. The other Deadly Sins feel he’s just a hindrance and didn’t give a shit. That’s where he got those methods. For demons, extracted pain and fear are working like an ecstasy. By using it, he takes some investor and businessman to that city of his.”

“So, basically that city is den of wolf.” I simplify her words.

“Yes that’s right. The other Deadly Sins and I can’t bring the illegal business down. But,”

“But after the disappearance of Sairkhan, the city is in turmoil. The extracted pain and fear no longer come to his town. He needs to find another city for a harvest or the business will go down.”

“Yup, that’s right. And then also the rumor of the one person responsible for the disappearance of Sairkhan is coming for him.”

“And somehow, he got his hand on Cirion and need to take measure to get this person. And do this to capture that person. I’m surprised Lilith is willing to cooperate.”

“She doesn’t want to. But she has no choice. If Markozias fall, the economy in the Demon’s Realm will go down as well. The people from the Markozias will spread all over the Demon’s Realm. That might lead to a bigger population in each city, but less works for them. It will increase the number of poverty and it might lead to a revolt. The people will say the Seven Deadly Sins already failed to do their job and seek a new government. They can’t have it happen.”

“Then, what about you?” I ask her. “Are you alright with this?”

“Of course I’m not. How could I’m alright when I see the nation that I build fall apart. But,”

I continue her words. “But it will be a different story if one word fugitive come and takes him out. The new leader can be controlled by someone to make it a better city and a more cooperative toward another city while shut down the current business. So, people won’t riot as they got a replacement job.”

“Hehe, you catch on quick.”

“So your sect makes it so that this city is looking for that fugitive, then somehow let him escape, tear Mammon apart, and then blame it on that fugitive. That’s neat. But you’re missing one thing. How would you convince this fugitive to do it?”

“I’ll give one weapon of cala-“

“Not interested.” I cut her.

“Hear me out before you say it.” She whines to me.

She really not any different from time to time. Well, I can’t really blame her. Her body is just that of 33 years so it’s normal for her to act that way.

“One weapon of calamity to fight Cirion in a place we arranged. And then info of Mammon’s whereabouts. How about that?”

I stay silent for a moment. This deal is not so bad. Getting info about Mammon whereabouts is a hard one. In fact, this deal is too generous. There must be some catch behind it. Restoring Markozias is one reason, but there has to be another reason.

“So, how is it?”

“Before I answer, let me say my opinion.” I start to talk. “First of, when you said about Mammon’s whereabouts, I can see he’s not in Markozias anymore just like Lilith not in this city anymore. As the airship is moving west, I can say they’re on the other island. Second, your deal is too generous. It’s like you’re giving me a gift. There must be some catch behind it. Another aim aside from recreating Markozias.”

“Yes, you got it all right.” She agrees with me. “Well, about that,”

She looks away. Both of her hands meet below the table, and she constantly moving her shoulder. I know it better when she does this. She’s hiding something and afraid of my reaction if I find out about it.

“Well, I’ll think of the catch later. Right now, I’ll take that deal.”

“Really?” She brightens up as she hears me.

“But, I got additional conditions.”
