36. Government’s Plot

It would be nice if you would point out the mistakes. Thanks

“Daddy, there’s something on your cheek.” Erfia points to my left cheek.

“Ah, it’s okay. I tripped myself at the bathroom last night.” I answer her with lie.

I look at Reis. She’s still avoiding eye contact with me. When I see the others, they seem to hold their laugh.

Right now we’re waiting in line at the train station. Just as the info said, this morning we got noticed that today we could continue our trip to Markozias. The whole train station is still closed for the transportation of this one person, so all passengers are standing outside the train station.

“It would be nice if we could reach Markozias as soon as possible.” Kurua talks to me. No hidden words or meaning.

I’m not sure about that as I look into the clear blue sky. No airship flies in the sky anymore unlike yesterday. It annoys me to see one special small airship that supposed to stand by on the top of the highest building is gone. Only Satan allowed to use it. If she’s gone, it means something very urgent is occurring somewhere in this Demon’s Realm. It makes me worry if Mammon also left Markozias.

The current Satan is named Lilith. When the next head is a man he will be named Satan but Lilith if she’s a woman. But it doesn’t change tittle of Satan the Wrath as it acts as family name, and unfortunately I’ve got no connection with the last 2 generations of Seven Deadly Sins.

At last we could hear sound of a train is coming. But it’s not passing the train station. It’s stopping in the train station. That’s weird. We passengers could only guess by the sound it makes. Suddenly I could see a small static electric appears in the wall.

“GET BACK!” I yell.

I take Reis and Erfia with me and jump back as far as I could. Kurua, Eri, and Xiel follow me. Some people also follow us to jump back but most of them didn’t have enough time or not capable of far leap like us. A lot of spikes pop out of the train station wall and kill everyone near it.

What the hell? A small static electric is a sign of alchemy. It means the one attacking is demon. I look around and see some people survive.

The train station’s door is opened and showed a lot of officers standing in line. They spit some blood and then create a symbol on the ground. Another static appears on the ground below us.

“JUMP TO THE HIGH PLACE!”

We jump quickly to reach any high place nearby. A lot of spikes pop out of the ground we stood before. I land at a canopy of pedestrian bridge while Kurua and Xiel land on the top of some public bus and Eri land on a roof of a small store.

Judging the spikes, they only aim to kill. If their aim is to capture us, they would create something box like. But then I take a better look at them and see something I don’t like at all. All of them have small slit on their front neck that glows red. The glow is so dim that normally on a day like this no one would notice. But I notice it because I know what it is. It’s a signature they’re under orders from the Voice of Obedience.

The power of the Voice of Obedience is to make anybody that heard or even reads the lip movement of the holder to obey anything the holder wants. The slit will appear in the one being ordered as a sign they’re under order of the Voice of Obedience. It’s one weakness I created for the Voice of Obedience. It means the one being transported really is Cirion.

At that moment, I manage to spot some people watching us from the shadow of buildings. So, that’s how it is. The government leaks the info about the transported person to make some people like us aware. People with pure business purpose won’t wary of the situation and mostly should have been killed by the first attack. But people that are aware like us is the ones the government needs to take precaution. People that still alive after the attack definitely suspicious. And they got it right. We still alive after two attacks. Fortunately our party is not the only one that survives. There’s still many people that still alive. I say about 40 out of 700.

It is possible Cirion is working with them and if we attack the officers, the government will arrest us. What’s his motive? Damn, we’re in a pinch. Kurua and the others see me and I show no sign of fighting back. I hope they get my act. The red slit will disappear once the person no longer under order of the Voice of Obedience. If I attack them, I can’t use it as a defense. And nobody should know about it but the holder and some people that have seen it being used few times. So, telling them about it will put me in more bind.

The only choice left for us is to move away from the officers until the government takes it by themselves. But, the government is pretty reckless if I have to say. They killed a lot of innocent people just to capture a group of attacker. Or maybe there’s something else? Well, that possibility always exists.

“mommy…..”

Suddenly I hear a voice of a little kid. I take a look and see a little demon boy is crying. He resembles human so much. The only thing that’s off from human is his little one horn in his forehead.

“Reis, take care of Erfia!”

This tale has been unlawfully lifted from Royal Road. If you spot it on Amazon, please report it.

I pass Erfia at her and jump toward that little boy. As I land and get the boy, the ground below us shows some electric static. Shit, I won’t make it.

At that time, the ground below me glows red. I can see the light is not some random light. I bet if I see it from the top it makes a symbol. The electric static disappears and so does the glow. The ground is not letting out any spikes.

“Are you alright, human?”

This voice. No. It can’t be. But this voice definitely belongs to her. I turn my face and see a long haired blonde woman is walking to me. She wears a long robe which closes her whole body but her head. Such a beautiful green eyes just like the old time. You will mistake her as a human if you don’t look at her pointy black tail that’s only showing a little below that robe. She’s Lucifer the Pride the first. The First Lucifer that fell from the heaven.

“Yeah, I’m alright.”

“Stand aside! I’ll take care of this.” She walks pass me.

She raises her right hand and a line of light is appearing from her shadow. The line of light is travelling the ground, branching into few lines of light, and make a symbol in each of the officers ground. In a blink of an eye, the ground is letting out an electric static and create some chair which tie them so tight. Now that their movement has been sealed, they can’t do anything anymore.

“Watch out! The real culprit might be still hiding on the train!” I shout at her.

“No need to tell me that.”

Another line of light appears from her shadow. Rather than branching like before, this line of light is creating a big symbol encircling the whole train station. The light shines so bright and a big electric static appears.

~clang clang clang clang~

I can hear the sound of metal being hit one another for some time and then it stops. I can guess she does something about the train with her power. She uses a high level magic to create an alchemy symbol on the ground. I can see she’s not changed.

She turns her body and walks to me.

She stops in front of me. “You got balls to come down and protect some little kid you don’t even know.”

“This boy can’t be some little kid. He resembles human so much. He must be from the noble family.” I answer her.

“Heh, you know your stuff eh.” She reacts to my words.

I let out a simple smile. Then suddenly I saw something fly so fast toward her. I let go of the boy and jump to her back. A harpoon almost pierce her head. I look at the direction of this harpoon came from. Some officers still manage to create a symbol by using blood in his hand. He starts to draw another symbol.

“No you won’t!”

A line of light passes me so fast and heading toward the officer. The light circling the chair and something came out of the chair. A long stick that clamps the officer’s fingers and break them.

“Ah, that settles it.”

I turn around and see a barrel of handgun is already in front of my face.

“Now, stay still and don’t move!”

“My, my. Is this the treatment you give to someone that saved you?” I speak sarcastically to her.

“I don’t need you to save me. Everything is under control.”

Yeah, she’s right on that. Even If I don’t stop that harpoon, it won’t kill her.

I look around and see a lot of demons already surround everybody that survives the attack. They point their gun at us survivors. One part I hate about this place, they’re so efficient they prefer using a gun than a magic. If this were in Ma or Alia continent, I can simply defeat them all before they complete their spell. But I can’t really go head to head against a gun.

“It’s okay, your majesty Satan. Everything is fine.”

I can see another demon woman in maid clothes come closer to us. Or rather, the boy. But I guess I’m little surprised when the woman called the boy as Satan. So, he’s Lilith child. The maid takes the little boy away from us.

“So, who are you and what are you up to?” Lucifer asks me.

“I’m just a businessman on his business trip to Markozias. People calls me Mada Jeian of the Vorks.”

“Heh, Mada the Black Trader, eh?” She lets out a sarcastic tone.

“Mister, you’re under arrest for suspicious acts. It is better for you to remain silent.”

Few people come at me and put me on a handcuff. I look at the others and they’re also under arrest.

“Thanks for the help Ma’am. Without you, we can’t capture these suspects at ease.” One officer salutes her.

“I just happen to pass by.” She answers the officers.

“Can you please keep the handcuff off for my daughter? She’s just an innocent kid, okay?” I talk to them

“Don’t worry, I’ll take care of your daughter. Which one is she?” Lucifer takes my request.

“The half beast man half elf. She’s my foster daughter.” I talk to her.

“You can count on me to look after her. Even if they find you guilty I’ll still take care of her.” She walks toward Erfia’s direction and left me.

“Yeah, thanks a lot. My light-sweet Lucy.”

She stops and looks at me. “No. It can’t be. How did you know that name?“
