I have been in this world for 5 days now and I have grown to like this place, of course I mean the mansion.

There are so many things here, fancy ceilings, staircases, they even have lamps, though I strongly believe they don't work the same way as in my old world.

Everything is perfect, and I haven't even mentioned the bedrooms and food.

I really miss my PC though. And I also wish they had manga or light novels. I have searched the whole library for that, but unfortunately I didn't find anything.

Well, who am I to blame? I have a free place to stay and it's a mansion, with free food and sword practice.

I even got free clothes. Julian gave me 1 golden coin. He said that it should be enough for a full outfit. I am super grateful to him for that and I would love to repay him somehow but I just don't know how yet.

I got myself a decent brown and black costume that looked suitable for living in the mansion.

I have also been spending most of my time in the library. I know the writing now and I would say that I know the human tongue pretty well.

I also picked up on magic, but I learned that I don't have so much mana. I get out of mana after 2-3 spells.

The spell I use is a weak one, called Water ball. If I'm honest, I don't really like the name of it, it sounds lame.

It's a novice water spell that I picked up from the magic and mana guide book.

It's a weird feeling but it feels more natural after every time I use it. It's like mhh… There is like a heat flowing through your veins, then up to your hand, and by focusing, it will release water. After that it's all up to practice, to form it and contain the form, it's also hard to fire it.

After releasing it, it will shiver a bit, I don't know why but, happened to me a couple of times, I am sure it will feel different as fast as I am getting used to it though.

I have started learning sword fighting as well but I am really not good at it. Rina is trying her best to teach me but in sparring I can't keep up at all.

While Rina is kind and is trying to teach me and spar with me, she has put me up with Yumiko to spar with as well but, she is not going easy on me at all. As fast as I leave myself open she hits me with all she got, and when I'm laying on the ground, she starts shit talking me.

She can say stuff like "Damn loser" "You are so bad" or just "mhhh!" me.

Sometimes she even hits me after we are done sparing, I wouldn't be surprised if she would start appearing in my dreams.

She is just like a monster, just a small one with red hair.

For these reasons I have been trying to be as far away from her as possible. If I see her in the hallway, I hide, luckily she is not a study person, actually I never seen her in the library.

I mean to be fair, I would guess from her actions that she isn't very smart, I strongly believe that she can't even write, maybe her name at most.

I still try to greet her in the morning but that's it, I wouldn't want to walk up to her if I don't need to, sadly I do need to after breakfast, at sword practice.

I do like to practice my magic more but, Rina always makes me practice with Yumiko either way.

But, I have a Yumiko free day after that so it is fine.

Tap-tap, I tap my pen against the wooden table while reading in a new book I found "Races and creatures"

It's an interesting book about Different races, regions and creatures.

I picked this book not long ago, but it peaked my interest quickly.

There were a bunch of drawn pictures of dragons, hybrid birds and even griffins.

I also learnt pretty quickly that there are four regions with different languages and races.

And this is what I learnt so far.

The east region is famous for its dangerous lands, hybrid animals, mixed culture and poor cities. The language they use is Tribal speech.

The west region is famous for its peaceful, rich and green landscape. This is where I am now, we use Human tongue.

The north region is famous for the cold air, high mountains, blizzards and dangerous environment. They use the North tongue.

The south region is famous for being poor, big trees, forests, tribes and beast people who are a hybrid race. they speak beast tongue.

So these regions all seem pretty cool, and I would like to study some more about them.

I look back, tapping the pen on the table, "yeah?"

"I see that you have been studying a lot, could I ask for what reason?"

"Yeah, I only study for my own interest, I think it's good to hold your brain active"

Well I mostly do it because it's a new world but let's not tell him that.

Neither that I'm trying to get away from Yumiko. That wouldn't be the smartest thing to do.

"Ahh I see, so everything is going well here?"

"Yeah it is, thank you"

"Of course. I have a solution for you, In exchange for letting you live here"

Yeah Julian did say something about finding a way for me to stay here, this is what I mean, he's a great guy.

And I suppose that I can't stay here for free, forever.

"Yeah? What is it?"

"I was thinking—you're smart, and you seem to know a lot. How about becoming Yumiko's teacher? You'll get paid, plus you can stay here"

"What do you think?"

Well to be fair… I think it's dumb. Here I thought Julian was a good guy, but he's making me Yumikos teacher!

There is not only one thing wrong with this, there are multiple, well of course I would like to get to know her but being her teacher would lead to me getting trash talked day in and day out.

He is putting me up with a devil, it's enough being with her for sword practice but now even more.

I will be going to bed half dead.

Well anyways, I do need a place to stay and I suppose Julian did want me to get friends with Yumiko, maybe this is a good way.

I put up a fake smile.

"Yeah, I would love too" he he, no I would not love too!

Julian looks at me and smiles innocently.

"Good, if it's okay by you, you can start tomorrow at 780 and you will end at 930"

"Yeah sure, fine by me"

I say this but what the hell does 780 and 930 mean!

And I am not fine because I need to be her teacher.

I need to figure out what 780 and 930 means by tomorrow.

And I'm not going to ask Julian, that would be stupid that would probably be a stupid question.

"Okay so see you later, Kaito"

"See you, Julian"

And there he goes, too late to ask now.

Maybe there are some books with the time they use in this world. It could maybe say something in the Human tongue book.

So apparently they count the minutes. 12 am being the zero point

That means 780 is… 1 pm? From 12 am to 1 pm, there are exactly 780 minutes.

So if I'm right, 930 should be 3:30 pm. Well, I guess I'll find out tomorrow.

"I think this is the right door" I hope it is at least.

Looks like it.

Wait, Yumiko is already here? That's a first, I would never think she would be in time for anything.

"Hi Miss Yumiko"

She looks a little angry, I wonder why.

"Yeah, Hi" she looks at me with a dangerous expression.

Ohh, starting of good at least.

I should be on my guard anyways.

"I took some books with me, a writing block and a textbook"

I got the writing block from Julian this morning and I picked the Human tongue book from the library.

Hopefully I can teach her something, it's not like I have been a teacher before, but I'll try my best.

"I will be teaching you Human tongue today. I'm new to this though so don't judge me"

"...mhm"

Of course she isn't interested, I did have lower expectations though.

"Okay… So what do you know about writing and reading?"

"Mmm… I know how to spell my name and read basic words"

Jackpot! Exactly what I thought.

"Please show me when you write your name"

Why is she so calm and does what I tell her to do?

She doesn't talk though, she's maybe just tired.

Well anyways I don't complain.

"there, I'm done"

Ohh, yeah, her writing is very sloppy, in other words it's not good.

I think it's best to praise her instead of telling her that it's bad.

I smile at her to show that I'm proud.

"Very good!"

Why is she looking at me like that? It feels intense, like she is about to hit me.

"Ogh"

Stop… Squeezing my foot! Damn it hurts!

"It hurts, please stop"

I look at her with a fake smile trying to be calm.

"No"

Well she asked for it.

I'll just do the same thing she does to my foot to her foot.

"... Alright"

"Ogh! Stop it!"

Before I knew it, she slapped me in the face.

Damn that bitch!

"You done now?"

"Mmh! Just teach me already and of course, my spelling is good!"

Her attitude is something special. It's like a demon.

"Mhhm. Can you please write all these symbols down, one by one in your writing block"

I give her the Human tongue book with the right page, showing the alphabet.

She listens to me though, so maybe she isn't angry?

I look over at her to observe her writing. It's not looking so good.

if she can remember the symbols that could be enough but it would be good if she can learn to write them the right way too.

Lets focus on teaching her to read first.

If she learns that, the rest will be easy.

"Are you done?"

"Yes"

"Can I have your text block then?"

I think I need to ask nicely, if I don't she is most probably going to get angry again.

"Yeah, of course" She slides the block over to me.

"Thank you"

Ohh, yeah this is bad, well it's the first day.

Teaching takes time, so let's be passionate.

Before she hit me when I overpraised her, maybe I shouldn't praise her?

"Looks good but you need a lot of practice, we should focus on remembering the symbols. But writing them is a great way to practice that as well"

"My writing is good. Mhh! You said that before" She gives me that look again, when she just looks away crossing her arms.

It's better than stomping on my foot though.

"Yeah, I know I said that but you do need a lot of work"

"Why are you talking against me! I said that my writing is good, you can't disagree with me!" She reaches over the table and slaps me before I can talk.

I flinch as she slaps me again. "Really? Was that necessary?'" Damn that little shit. I don't want to hit back, she is a girl after all and daughter of Julian.

But then again she is not really much like a girl, she's more of an aggressive guy, kinda.

"What are you waiting for! teach me now"

This job is going to be a pain in the ass, will I really need to do this every day?

Anyways I get paid, so I better just get through this.

"Alright then, but please don't hit me"

"Here, read this page. If you need help ask me" I give her a page with fairy tales, so she can get started with reading.

But It's probably best if I don't tell her that.

"Please read out loud"

"Okay… In.. a world with six co… continents?" She starts reading.

"Yeah, keep going"

"There are.. giants, monsters and sea. c.. cre…."

"Creatures" I corrected her.

"I knew that," she says with confidence.

"Only, the greatest warriors could stand against this… c.. creatures"

"Yeah keep going until I say we are done, if that's okay"

"Yeah, sure"

She kept on reading for the next 30 minutes, with some breaks, mostly because she got frustrated by reading so much.

But we are finally done.

I take a deep breath and fall back to my bed.

"Damn, this day took a lot out of me"

Hopefully, Yumiko won't be like this forever.

Well I will meet her tomorrow again.

I just hope I will have energy to spend time in the library. I would like to learn a new language, I think.

I fall to sleep quickly in the comfy bed.
