Chapter 10
Vincent opened his eyes once more to see that he was now back in his reincarnated body. He looked to the side of his bed and spotted some people smiling at him. They were a girl who looked barely over 10, an extremely buff man, and a man who gave off a “don't talk to me" vibe.
Russell(buff guy): Hello there, how are you doing little guy, name's Russell.
Sophie(Little Girl): He's so cute! My name's Sophie, nice to meet you!
John(Other Person): ...John, so, who are you kid?
Sophie: John, stop it, can't you see you'll frighten him!
Russell: Now, now, settle down you two. John is in the right to ask for such important information, but you did come on a little too strong. Watch. Hello little boy, could you tell us your name so that we can bring you back to your family?
Vincent: ...My family all died in the akuma attack.(Mom would probably be better off without me...)
Russell: ...I'm sorry for your loss.
Sophie: You poor boy…
John: …
Vincent: Aren't you also around my age, Sophie? (B: *cough* flag master *cough*)
Sophie: I'm 16 despite how short I look.
Vincent: ...Anyways, so what now?(Legal loli in a few years!)
Russell: Now you can tell us a little bit about yourself.
Vincent: ...Alright, the name's Vincent. I'm 5, wait, almost 5 in another week or so. Ah. (Oh shit! I forgot that I decided that when I met exorcists I'd tell them my name was Allen Walker!!! Wait, come to think of it, shouldn't I have met Mana by now? What is going on with the plot!?)
Russell: Something the matter?
Vincent: N-no. (Dammit CE, do your job!)
CE: I am doing my job. It's just something happened beyond my control... teehee!
Vincent: (...)
Russell: ...Anyways, I've noticed you talk quite fluently for your age. I have never seen a kid your age talk in such a mature way without having at least some trouble speaking...

Vincent: ...My mother praised me as a genius.
Russell: ...That's good and all, but don't you think it might have something to do with your left hand?
Everyone's gazes went towards Vincent's left hand which was quite abnormal to look at, what with its strange color and the giant cross embedded in it.
Vincent: You mean this?
Everyone Else: !!!
Vincent raised up his arm and transformed it as he talked. Luckily, he could control the general size of his anti-akuma weapon, so he didn't look mismatched with his child-size body when compared to it. This served perfectly as a way to shock his interrogators.
Russell: Y-you can control your innocence?
Vincent feigned ignorance since it would look weird for a child to know what innocence was.
Vincent: Is that what it's called?
Sophie: Amazing, I can rarely use mine and it'll drain me after a few minutes...
John: You're no ordinary boy, that's for sure.
Vincent: By the way, who are you guys and what do you want with me?
Russell: The best thing for you is to come with us. We're exorcists, so we can teach you how to become one of us and give proper training to a rare talent such as yourself. Who knows, you can probably become the youngest exorcist in history. Though it'll probably only be officially since it would look bad for our organization to send out children to fight...
Vincent: I see… I might as well go with you since it looks like the best option for m-
John: Hold on, I've just got one more question for you. There was signs of battle having taken place when we found you. We're you involved in it?
Vincent: … My hand did it on its own. I just felt it transform without my permission, and then I lost consciousness soon after. (I'm not exactly lying, she did initiate the fusion according to Ana...)
John: ...Alright then, can you move out into the hallway for a minute?
Vincent: Sure.
Vincent left the room, but he didn't forget to strain his ears and listen in on the conversation.
In the Room
Russell: So did he lie?
John: Only about his family and about not knowing what innocence was. I have no idea how he knows about innocence though... As for his family, he most likely didn't want to drag them into whatever is going to happen to him, smart kid.
Sophie: See, I told you guys that he's a nice boy. (B:F*cking rule 4.)
John: What's with you? You've never taken a liking to a guy before.
Sophie: He's not a man, he's a boy who's probably been through a lot because he's different from others. I know what it's like to be different…
Russell: Alright, enough. So you guys agree we should bring him back to headquarters, right? He's too dangerous to leave alone if his innocence acts without his judgement and as exorcists, it is our duty to bring back innocence to headquarters. We're already lucky we didn't have to deal with some difficult brat...
The other 2 nodded in affirmation.
Russell: Then it's decided, we leave tomorrow morning. We'll walk towards Lysa and ride the train from there to headquarters. We should arrive within 3 days. Alright, let's go tell our future comrade.
Outside
Vincent: Good thing I didn't lie about the last part, it would be troubling to explain how a kid not even 5 years old has the ability to defeat a lvl3 akuma. Who would have thought that John had the ability to differentiate lies from truths...
As Vincent was having a self-monologue, the door to the room opened and out came the 3 exorcists.
Vincent: When do we leave?
Russell: Tomorrow morning we leave for Lysa, a town a few miles north of here. From there, we'll take a train to headquarters and get you on track to becoming an official exorcist. You'll be our comrade in the future.
Vincent: Cool, well, good night...Oh, just to let you know, I'm a heavy sleeper, but I always wake up on time.
Sophie: ...But weren't you just in a coma?
Vincent payed her question no mind. He walked back into the room he came from and shut the door. Nothing was going to get in the way of his and ES’s playtime.
