Silver Sword Sect:

……….3 days after the ominous feeling……….

----------Elder Choro’s POV----------

[Inner Sect Disciple]  “Elder!  Elder!  Bad news!”

[Me]  “What is it boy?  Spit it out.”

[Inner Sect Disciple]  “Sir, it seems as if the Heavenly Sun Sect had declared war against us!”

[Me]  “WHAT?!”

I pound my fist against the left side of my chair.  Why would such a large sect attack us?!  Why now out of all times?

[Me]  “Boy, do you know why they choose this time to attack?”

[Inner Sect Disciple]  “N-no sir, just that it may have to do with the rumors that the prince left to visit his home country for a week.  Doing this will prevent too much hatred against them from that royal family.”

Hmm… EXCELLENT!  EXCELLENT!  These people know their stuff, HAHAHAHAHA!  I guess if a fight is what they want, than a fight they shall receive!

[Me]  “Go now!  Tell the others to spread the news, ‘We will be fighting the Heavenly Sun Sect in five days from now, and whoever contributes the most in the fight shall receive a just reward!”

[Inner Sect Disciple]  “Y-yes sir!”

[Me]  “Muahahaha!”

----------Luna’s POV----------

I look around at the chaotic street below.  I am currently sitting on one of the arena’s large, towering walls.  Below be are a multitude of people rushing around, some more chaotic than others.  Some people were even going as far as to push others off their original course.

[Me]  “Tsk… it seems as if the news was true after all…”

Recently there has been gossip spreading that a certain sect was planning to attack.  The entire Silver Sword Sect was thrown into an uproar, and immediately after all disciples started to take some form of action.  Some started to train in order to receive awards for when the battle starts, while others ran, abandoning their sect in exchange for their lives.

I was part of the former group, and began openly spending my time in the Red Horn Forest.  I have gained a lot of experience, however it seems as if I were stuck in mid 2nd stage.  No matter how much I train I can not pass tier 8, it is as if that path is locked and I need to find a key to continue on.

Sighing at these hopeless thoughts I stand up and jump off the arena wall.  Instead of falling to my doom, I pull of the power of my demonic core and instantaneously slow down in my deccent.   This is just another one of my powers that stems from my demonic core, this is also the only other power that I have discovered besides speed.

As I land on the ground I dispel the invisible barrier I have surrounding myself in order to not attract attention.  Unlike my previous power this one did not come from my demonic core.  This power comes from utilizing the wind elemental to it’s max potential, which should be impossible.  The only way to use it’s true potential is to be able to withdraw all 100% of it which, for some unknown reason, I am able to do.

[Ryan]  “Hey Luna!”

I turn around, and behind me is a man hardly recognizable as the well-known inner sect disciple Ryan.  His eyes have become blood-shot from countless sleepless nights, and his face appears to be an ashen-grey.  He claims the reason for this is due to his vigorious training however other signs point that it is due to worrying.  I don’t know the reasons for his worry, however it must have something to due with his protective nature.

[Me]  “Hey Ryan.  How have you been doing as of late?”

[Ryan]  “I have been doing well.  In fact, just a couple hours ago I went up another tier!”

[Me]  “Really?  That's great…”

[Ryan]  “Yeah, I now have a slightly better chance at protecting others…”

Ryan glanced at me with a nervous expression on his face.  His eyes darted towards mine, but then fell back to his feet.

[Me]  “...Okay, just be sure to get some rest or else you will be too tired to fight when the time comes.”

[Ryan]  “...yeah… alright…”

I wait a bit to see if Ryan wants anything else, and after a few moments I walk away.

----------Ryan’s POV----------

It's been 3 days of worrying straight.  I worry if I will be able to protect everyone, if I will be able to help my juniors, and I worry if I will be able to protect Luna.  I know that I am a couple years older than Luna, but despite this Luna seems to have both a mind and a body more mature than my own.

Since the last time I saw her, she has grown and matured yet again, and I found myself at a loss.  Naturally if you advance in your tier then you body will also grow more healthy, however for youth that means that your body will mature at a faster rate.  It’s natural that Luna would make a couple of advances in her cultivation, but she looks like a 12-13 year old while she is only 8.  This is a 4-5 year difference, which means she must be powerful for her age… probably tier 5, maybe 6.

As these thoughts were entering my brain I almost ran into her.  Her hair flowed gently down to her waist, as if she had just jumped down from something, and her appearance was that of an angle. When I announced my presence she looked at me with her golden eyes that could only be described as a gift from heaven.  Last time I remembered her eyes were a brownish-red, however I heard that it was most likely the last place that she was cultivating in that made it that way.

After a short conversation I look up at Luna and notice her eyes looking into mine.  Her eyes seem to contain the universe and knowledge that could rival that of a god’s.  Her mouth was slightly curved downwards, as if worrying about something.  Instead of marring her face, they just added a new appeal that caused the surrounding people to notice.  After a short while she turned around and left, causing people to make way for her.  As I saw a group of boys look at her with eyes full of lust I glared and let loose my cultivation, causing them to look up at me and scamper off.  Good.  I will protect everyone, especially one’s I consider close friends.

----------Luna’s POV----------

……… 5 days later……….

BOOM!

I flick off the blood off my sword and look towards my prize.  It is a 10 foot Red-Horn Demonic Snake.  This snake was a tier 10 demonic beast that lurks in the middle of the Red Horn Forest.  Like usual I take off it’s horns and take it’s demonic core.  I then pick up the corpse and half drag / half carry it to the shopkeeper’s place.  I couldn’t carry it completely since it was fat and was not going to fit in my arms.

When I arrive at my destination the shopkeeper merely raises an eyebrow at my catch and gestures to where I could put it.  Then he places two silvers onto the counter and walks off to process the creature that he bought.  I look upon the silvers in surprise, but take them nonetheless.

In these past five days I have been training non-stop, however no matter how hard I try I am unable to pass tier 8.  I once again get the feeling that it is locked.  Never in the past, both my current life and my past life, have I ever heard of this type of situation… but then again I don’t remember anything about an elf, or any being other than demonic, gaining a demonic core.  Could it be something wrong with the core?  No, it must be that I am missing something… I wonder what it is…

Ding!  Ding!  Dong!

My eyes open on their own accord with the sound of bells.  These bells were only to be rung if the Heavenly Sun Sect has arrived.  My body flies up and I zoom towards were the bells are ringing.  The battle has begun!
