Silver Sword Sect:

----------Elder Choro’s POV----------

[Inner Sect Disciple]  “Sir!  I must report something at once!”

[Me]  “Oh?  To interrupt me at such a time… what is bothering you young one?”

[Inner Sect Disciple]  “Well, recently our supply of demonic beasts is growing exponentially…”

[Me]  “This is important because…”

[Inner Sect Disciple]  “Well, never has it risen like this before, and in addition to this we have also been getting demonic beasts such as a Red-horned demonic bear.  Recently every beast has had their horns cut off before selling.”

[Me]  “Couldn’t any inner sect disciple such as yourself do this?”

[Inner Sect Disciple]  “While you do have a point, the owner of the shop described the seller as a young girl about the age of eight.”

[Me]  “Hahahahaha!  She is fitting in splendidly!  Tell me, have you found what use she has of the horns?”

[Inner Sect Disciple]  “Not really, Sir.  She has not sold them or made things from them.  For some reason whenever she gets the horns they never reappear.”

[Me]  “Oh well, hahahaha… she is just too much of a mystery!  Just watch out or else she just may surpass you!”

At this the disciple noticeably froze, until the expression on his face turned back into a respectful one.  He then bowed politely and left the room, his report finished.  Occasionally inner sect disciples would be given tasks to complete, and this young man had the task of looking out for changes within shops and behaviors.  He does his job quite well and in fact recently reported in respect showing in the eyes of some outer sect disciples for the young girl I had just brought in.

I had brought her in on a whim of mine, believing that she may be regarded as a genius in the future… however… this girl seems to be better than I expected!  I wonder how she has gained so much strength, as to be a tier 7 at such a young age.  I started to chuckle again when I remembered the look of the other elder’s faces when they hear that an eight year old beat up another one of their disciples, even though they only belonged to the outer sect.  Soon my chuckle found its way to become a full blown laugh, something that was once again become quite the occurrence here.

----------Inner Sect Disciple’s POV----------

I was shocked.  I was shocked at the multitude of attention a mere eight year old can achieve.  At first I was curious as to why Elder Choro would bring someone as young as her here, however I paid it no mind when I thought of the others that he had brought as well.  Then, shortly after, one of my friends, Ryan, asked me to keep an eye on her.  I know that Ryan believes in treating ladies right, however never has he asked me to keep an eye on someone before.

As I kept an eye on this girl I was surprised that for some reason every night she would disappear from my radar, only to reappear again in the morning.  It is not easy to get away from me as she usually did, and I was even more surprised that she knew I was following her at times.  If it were not for me already keeping an eye on her in the first place I would not have known about my most recent report to Elder Choro.  Who would have known that she was able to hunt down so many demonic beasts?

When Elder Choro mentioned about her possibly surpassing me, I knew that in all reality she could in a few years time.  This was an achievement itself, and I honestly felt shocked as I accepted this fact.  This was a being that you did not want to mess with.

----------Ryan’s POV----------

Luna keeps on surprising me time and time again… I am seriously wondering if she is just an elf.  Her beauty out-shines the stars, however it is starting to seem as if she is having more and more of a demonic aura around her.  Usually with this aura people would look down on that particular being, but for some reason with this she just keeps gaining more and more admirers.  She is only eight, yet despite this I have had to ‘quiet’ some of the sect members to make sure that they don’t attack her.  A man never lets a woman be attacked!

I reach up and scratch my temple as I think about the most recent events taking hold in the political world.  It seems as if the multiple sects who already had a distasteful view towards us have become enraged when word somehow leaked out about the prince of an unknown country is attending.  I don’t see how this little piece of news pushed them off the edge since there are many influential people attending their sect, and this is only a little rumor that could be false, but for some reason they feel content on destroying us.  That us includes everyone here, including the women!

Pounding upon my head I walk in circles trying to find a way to resolve this issue without any women getting caught up in the mess, including a certain young lady.  I start grinding on my fingernails as I think about all the things that could happen to everyone… I MUST PROTECT THEM!!!  Even if the women can protect themselves, a man’s one job and purpose in life is to protect women at all cost!

-----------Prince Caden’s POV----------

Stolen content alert: this content belongs on Royal Road. Report any occurrences.

Tsk!  It seems as if the other pesky sects found out where I was located.  It should have taken a lot longer to find me; the only way they could have found me is if the very inner palace had a leak that needed to be plugged.  Being the 3rd Prince of the Araneae Kingdom it’s a bragging right to have me within their sect… this is the very reason I joined this sect secretly!

Despite my many reasons for joining this sect and my one interesting reason for staying, I did not think it through enough.  Had I looked into the political balance of this sect it would have been obvious that this is a no-go sect because almost all the other sects have found one reason or another to hate it; me joining was a perfect excuse to dispose of it…

----------Servant for the Silver Sword Sect’s POV----------

My colleagues and I quietly creep down the hallway, sweat pouring off our backs.  I pause for a moment when I hear a low, raspy, and indistinguishable  voice coming from the room adjacent from where I’m standing.  Suddenly the air around the sect grows even more cold and frightening.  I dab my already soaked handkerchief at my forehead and continue on with my task.

My colleagues and I look around at each other as if warning one another not to make a sound.  For some strange reason when we were working the air just got thinner and colder as a murderess air began to float around the sect.  We did not know the origin of this particular feeling, as we were not cultivators; however we went to seek out Master Ryan.  Since he is an inner sect disciple famous for protecting many other fellow sect members we were hoping that he could help.  We were wrong.

As we approached his door we could hear an evil murmuring and then a low chuckle that frighten the maids so badly that a couple of them fainted and had to be taken home.  Not knowing the reason for even Master Ryan to be in that mood, an ominous feeling drifted throughout the sect and all of the sect members.  All classes that were supposed to be held were withdrawn and not many people were able to focus on cultivating.  Though no one knew the situation that would cause this feeling, we all knew that we would do whatever we could to avoid it from happening again.

----------Luna’s POV----------

As nightfall was descending I began my trek back to my house that I share with Maria.  I am satisfied with my current tier for now, although it has become harder to cultivate now that I have reached the 8th tier.  As I walked into the streets I immediately noticed the ominous air floating around the sect.  I also noticed how I could spot only a few people here and there, when normally there would be more.

Knowing the political situation on the sect due to my naturally curious nature when I first entered the sect I knew that this air was most likely due to that.  Although I am not well versed in politics, as I rather Blood Elves, I know enough that I can safely infer that this most likely means that the other sects have finally found a reason to openly go against us.

I look towards the general direction of the inner sect and notice how the air over there seems to be more heavy and cold.  Chuckling, I imagine just what Ryan’s reaction was when he found out about the situation to lead to this situation.

Suddenly I see something incoming towards my right shoulder.  I quickly jump to the right while turning in a sharp 90 degree rotation.  I look at what the incoming thing was and I see a poor servant as white as a ghost with many logs just now hitting the ground with a thud and rolling around.  The servant must have dropped these logs when I startled him by my fast movements.

[Me]  “I’m terribly sorry.  How about I help you pick these up.”

Not waiting for an invitation I begin to pick up the mess that I was partially responsible for.

[Servant]  “No, no.  It was my fault; I was not paying attention to where I was going and about hit you.”

[Me]  “It was partially my fault for startling you, so please let me help.”

[Servant]  “Alright… thank you miss.”

[Me]  “No problem, please take care.”

[Servant]  “You too miss”

At this the servant left me and continued on with their task.  It seems as if the air is even taking an effect on the servants.  I look at them with eyes full of pity.  They do not have any protection what-so-ever against this air, unlike the rest of us cultivators.

I shrug off the air and continue my walk until I reach my house.  Upon arriving I enter to see Maria sitting on the corner of her bed while reading a book.  Although I say reading, it seems as if she were having trouble focusing.  She notices immediately when I enter and stumble out of her bed to greet me.  I hold out my hand to stop her and speak.

[Me]  “It’s fine.  No need to get up for me, we are roommates and friends aren’t we?”

[Maria]  “Ah!  That’s right, we are!”

I shine a smile at Maria and sit down next her to see what she was currently reading.

[Me]  “Is that ‘The Cultivating Star’?”

[Maria]  “Y-yeah, it was one of my favorite books as a child.”

[Me]  “I think that it is indeed a wonderful book that focuses on the dreams of a person who wishes to stand upon the heavens with the might of cultivation…”

After a few hours of talking and coaxing Maria out of her daze caused by the tense air in the sect, we finally went to our respective beds and went to sleep.
