6.1. It's Not Like That!

“God, my head hurts.” I quietly mumble. It felt like I had a migraine. Oh boy, this is going to be fun. Slowly, I open my eyes to see mommy sleeping next to me. She compresses me into her chest like a stuffed toy. I could hear her slowly breathing as she made a soft purring sound like a cat. Her arms wrapped around me, which made me feel safe.

Even though I was safe, I didn’t want to stay here. Assuming this is just a dream, there’s no point in being safe. Dreams will just fuck you over until you wake up. I push away, wiggling and twisting out of her arms. “Sorry mommy, but I don’t like hugs- oof!”

Right as I was about the break free, she tightens her grip around me with her legs and… more arms? I could feel four extra limbs wrap around me. They weren’t as nice as her soft, warm arms. The extra limbs felt bony and firm. “Don’t leave me,” Mommy said, tightening her grip.

“Is she awake?” I look up, and her eyes are still shut tight. “No, it must be a bad dream.” Someone has abandonment issues, and it isn’t me. I wiggle some more, and my hair slightly grazes under her head.

“Wha-?” I said as everything starts to get tighter, and she shyly moans. She then released her grip some more. Did I hit a ticklish spot? Well, whatever I did seemed to make her let go, so I might as well do it again.

I graze my hair against her head some more, and she speaks, “N-not t-there. You know h-how…” She moans some more. I keep rubbing my head until there is enough room to crawl out. Before I crawl out, I listen to her breathing. It wasn’t a soft purring like before, but deep and rapid breathing.

Quietly and gently, I crawl out of her grip. As I crawl out, her grip tightens up again, and I stop. She then releases her grip again. I continue my journey out of her reach. She does this a few more times until I get almost all the way out. She tightens again, but this time it’s faster. I barely get my foot out. “Hah-hah! That was too stressful.”

I look down at her extra arms. Since it is still night, I’m not able to get a good look. However, the moonlight reflected off of some of it. It seems that she has completely black arms, like that of a scorpion’s tail with pink orbs on each segment, reflecting some moonlight.

“Talk about suffocating.” A familiar voice said.

“Fuck! You’re here.” I grumble. I look around the room, but I don’t see his body anywhere.

“Aww. Why’re you being so mean?” He said.

“Because if you’re here. It means that I’m still dreaming!”

“That’s the stupidest thing I’ve heard. How do you know it’s true?”

“Cause my mom is a spider creature like in that other dream.” I look out the window since he’s probably hiding out a view.

“What is reality but something your mind sees? A mind is messy and lazy, letting you see what you only want to see. Understand what you only want to understand.”

“Shut the fuck up with your preachy talky thingy. I know it’s not real because of you.” I yawn and rub my eyes.

“Oh yeah? If this is just a dream, then let me tell you something.” The voice laughs.

“Sure, whatever.” I scoff. It doesn’t matter what this dude says. He's an illusion created by my brain. A voice in my head… “Hmmm…” I look down at the bed. “A voice in my head.”

“So you know when you touched your mother's neck, and she started acting weird?”

I shake my head and lie on my knees. “She’s not my mother! My mother had brown hair and was short! Not a weekly seinen-looking antagonist with scorpion arms!? Tails!?”

“Oh! You dare speak of mother like that? You would break her little heart.”

“I don’t care if she was the Queen of England!” I look towards the ground, hiding my face, and pout. “If I could see you, I would punch you,” I said, kicking the bedsheet. My eyes water up, but I hold in the cry. I don’t want pity from anyone when I’m crying. Plus, he’d probably tease me about it.

“Why do you gotta be so rude? Don’t you know I’m human too? Well... not really, but you get the point.”

My strike on ignoring him is short since I hate it when there are people around, but everyone is quiet. I ended up getting upset and wanted to break the silence. But how would I do that? If I asked him any real questions, he would probably be an asshole about it.

The author's tale has been misappropriated; report any instances of this story on Amazon.

If I were to ask him a question, it would have to be something easy. I’m so close to crying right now. What if I ask him about- No. Wait, I’ve got it! What did I want to say again? I couldn’t remember what I was going to say, but thankfully, he broke the silence.

“You wanna hear something funny?”

“No,” I said without moving from my spot.

“Too bad. So, you remember when you touched your mother’s neck?”

“Yeah…”

“So, funny story… That was one of her erogenous zones.”

I squint my eyes and stare at him. “I’m sorry? A what thingy zone thing?” Nothing he just said made any sense. Either my mind has regressed too much that I’ve forgotten words, or probably because I barely paid attention in classes I considered boring.

“God, you’re pathetic, girl. Basically, you turned your mother on.”

“Like a light switch?”

I could hear the disappointment in his voice when he mumbled, “You think I would’ve learned by now.” He then sighs, “You switched her on like a lightbulb. If the switch turned the lightbulb- What the fuck am I doing?” He clears his voice and speaks to me like I’m stupid. “YOUUU. TUUUURNED. YOUR. MOTHER. OOON. OOOON. MUO BENJO?”

“Yeah yeah, I heard.” I roll my eyes as I repeat what he said without a second thought. “I turned my mother on.” The color from my face fades away. He has to be joking. A nervous smile grows on my face as I look at him. “Haha! I almost fell for that.” Or is he? If he isn’t, then.

“Am I?”

“Y-yes, otherwise t-that would be weird.” My face turns redder than a tomato.

“Is that a face of embarrassment… or interest?” He’s teasing me. He knows that I’m embarrassed and he’s teasing me. I probably should’ve ignored him, but I’m too flustered.

“I’d-I’d!” I cover my ears and shove my head into the bed, but it didn’t stop him from speaking to me.

“So, what’s it like having a mother complex? Kink? Whatever the word is.”

“I-It’s n-not like th-that!” The bed muffled my voice.

“Sweet Home Alabama!” He sings and then pauses. “Well… I’m really kinda out of jokes.”

“I-I don’t have to put up with this bull-” I shout as I raise my head. I stop mid-sentence because my stomach hurts. “Egh…” I crawl back towards my mother and rub her face. “Mommy. Mommy, mommy, mommy.” She didn’t respond, her breath still heavy and eyes closed. I’m kinda envious that she’s able to sleep that deep.

“That’s not going to wake her up. How about you try to stimulate her?”

I ignore him. He’s not going to be any help. Though, he's right. I’m not making any progress on waking her up. Maybe if I plug her nose and mouth? Nah, she would probably attack me. I could rub her chin… No, that wouldn’t work. She didn’t wake up when I first did that. Maybe if I cry. But how do I cry on command?

“I incest you let me up you.”

“Shh! I’m thinking.” I close my ear and start rocking back and forth. He’s just a distraction.

“Sigh... I guess I’ll stimulate your mind.” A black cloud starts forming right in front of me. It takes a human-like form, minus any hair or facial features. The cloud man’s arm turned into a blade.

I jumped up. What is he going to do!? I don’t like this. “Wait! What are you-” Before I can finish speaking, the cloud man slashes his arm against his forehead. Black ink flying out. I fly backward, watching as blood flies from my head and splatters over mom. As I fall towards the floor, my mother wakes up and grabs me with one of her scorpion arms, wrapping it around me.

She carefully lifts me up back onto the bed. “By the way, you called them scorpion tails, and did you know? Scorpions poop from their tails. So she might have her asshole wrapped around you.”

Without a second thought, I think, “At least her asshole is nicer than you.” He just stares at me, and I stare back. It was at this moment I knew I fucked up.

“So, you like doing it through the bumper seat.”

“That’s not what I mean!”

“I know exactly what you mean.” He makes Spock hand gestures with his cloud hands and smashes them together. “I bid you farewell.”

I watch as the cloud fades away, and mom pulls me closer. She yanks my head towards her and examines it. I could feel her poking around my head, rubbing the cut. She leans her head closer and licks my forehead? Mother licks my forehead, cleaning the blood off. I’m happy she’s cleaning my wound, but seriously, that’s so icky.

“Shh, it’s alright.” She said, pulling me closer. “It’ll be all healed up by morning.” As soon as I’m within grabbing range, I grab mother and wrap my arms around her. I’m not moving away from mommy as long as I live. I’m not much of a hugger, but if it keeps me safe. I’ll hug her forever.

She must have noticed me crying because she squeezed me tighter to her chest. I could hear her purring again, which soothed my frantic mind. The sound of her breath reminded me of a kitty cat. She’s just a big kitty cat.

I move around, pushing her slightly to feel safer. She pulls a blanket over us with one of her scorpion arms. She looks down at me and smiles. I smile back and close my eyes. As I go back to sleep, the pain in my stomach seems to go away.

Some time passes before I hear his voice again. “Yo! I’m back.”

“Just let me sleep.” I cry in my head. I close my eyes tighter and bury myself closer to mommy. When I tried to bury myself, she wasn’t there. I’m all alone.
