Chapter 2
The next day, Akira woke up to his new siblings pushing and yelping at each other for their mother's milk. Akira just looked at them and stayed where he was. He ate that rabbit leg last night so he was still full. He didn't feel the need to get between his siblings to fight for milk when he wasn't even hungry. Akira decided to move away to the other side of the den before his siblings decided to bring their little skirmish to where he was. He crawled over to the other side of the den and was about to lie down and continue sleeping when his siblings stopped arguing and somehow appeared in front of him. Two brothers and two sisters.
"Hey, little runt," the bigger brother says. "Where do you think you're going? Huh?"
Akira didn't respond because he felt too lazy to listen to his new brother's antics. He just ignored him and tried to go around this brother of his but he was pushed back by the bigger of the two sisters.
"Hey!" His brother says again. "Are you deaf or something? I asked you a question! When I ask a question here, you answer."
His brother tries to intimidate him but Akira doesn't respond, for he doesn't care. All he wanted to do was stay out of trouble and sleep. Akira looks at his siblings. The two bigger siblings just snicker at him while the other two stay quiet. The smaller sister looked at him with pity while the smaller brother didn't seem to care.
"Are you lost, little brother?" His sister asked condescendingly. "Only dumb wolves get lost inside their den." She looks at him in distaste.
Akira continued to ignore them and decided that since he couldn't go around them, he'd just sleep where he is right now.
"Hey get up." His brother says, prodding Akira in the back with his paw. "get up dummy, we're not done talking to you."
"Maybe he can't speak." His sister said. "Maybe our little runt is mute." His brother and sister start laughing at him.
"It's not his fault that he was born small," the other sister says softly and hesitantly, deciding to speak up for the first time
"Oh shut up! The brother glares at her causing her to shrink back and squeak with fright. "What do you know sis? You're also small. just be quiet and don't even think about defending him again. He's just a weak little runt."
"Well, it's true brother," his other brother says, defending his other sister, earning a glare from his bigger brother. "Well..." His brother stammers to pacify the other brother, "I mean you're not wrong about him being weak but you could be a bit nicer to him since he is still, after all, our brother."
The bigger of the two brothers just lets out an angry snort and stomps away on his little paws and then the rest of Akira's new siblings follow him, leaving Akira to finally have some peace and quiet.
'Finally, they left! Akira thought. 'They were so noisy.' Akira then shifted into a more comfortable position and closed his eyes ready to sleep only to be disturbed once again by a different wolf who ran into the den and skidded to a halt right in front of Akira's mother.
"Sierra!!!" The new wolf said, sounding rather anxious. "It's the humans! They found our camp! We have to go now! Before they come in and hunt us for our fur. Stupid humans don't value other creatures' lives!" the new wolf added angrily.
Akira looked at the new wolf's status page.

Sierra, who Akira thought was sleeping, immediately stood up in a panic. "Oh no! Not now!! this is the worst timing possible, what about my pups? How can we travel with pups who can barely move around the den let alone travel to new territory!" Sierra looks at Akira. "And what about him?" She points a paw in his direction. "He is still too weak to travel."
"I know," Rosey said. "We can carry the pups until we reach a safe place to rest and make a temporary camp until they are old enough to travel."
“Thanks, Rosey," Sierra said, sounding relieved. "I just panicked a little when I first heard that humans found us. It's obvious that the other members of our pack will help carry the pups. I'm so glad to have you taking care of the clan while I'm nursing my puppies right now."
"Of course! What do you think friends are for? Plus I am the female beta of the pack. How could I let anything happen to the pack?" Rosey says. "Your mate would kill me if I did" She adds, laughing at her own joke.
And so, Sierra grabs Akira and Rosey grabs another one of his siblings and three other wolves from the pack grab the rest of his siblings.
"Alright. Everyone here?" Axel looks at everyone gathered in the camp clearing. Akira looks around and sees that they were in a clearing surrounded by bushes that probably sheltered them from the outside forest weather. "Great, it's time to head off now. Let's go!" Axel finishes with a howl and everyone else howls after him then they all take off running past trees of various large sizes.
As the pack was running through the forest to escape from the humans, Akira was left alone with his thought to ponder this question that was nagging him since Rosey entered their den. 'Why are humans after us? Why do we have to hide from them? Why can't we just get along with them?' So many questions on his mind. It was only the second day since he arrived in this world and suddenly he was on the run from humans. The same race that he was, just one day ago.
As Akira was pondering this thought, the rest of the pack had crossed 1,000 kilometers in just 5 hours. They stopped to take a break and set up a temporary camp until the pups were old enough to travel on their own paws. They lost the humans that were tailing them so they were safe now.
"Alright, everyone!" Axel called out to everyone. "We will stop here for now and set up a temporary camp until my pups are old enough to travel on their own feet. After they are able to, we shall go and set up our own territory somewhere else. There is another wolf pack occupying this land already. Sierra and I shall go and meet with them and sort things out. Meanwhile, Azazel and Rosy shall be in charge of you guys until we get back."
Axel turned around and Sierra, who had carried Akira, had already put him down, followed next to Axel.
Suddenly it hit Akira like a wrecking ball out of the blue. He was now a wolf. He looked at the screen in front of him that showed his stats and came to a realization. He was in a fantasy world. A world where wolves and other animals and creatures were considered 'monsters' and were hunted by humans for medicine and armor for adventurers. He was now one of those 'monsters' that are on the humans' to-hunt list, or so he called it. He now had to live away from humans if he wanted to live.
After a few minutes of coming to terms with his new reality, he decided that he would get stronger and not get bullied or picked on by his siblings like earlier that morning. He also decided to give his siblings names, since it would be hard to keep track of them by just their size. The biggest brother, he decided to call him Judd. The bigger sister would be called Alice. The smaller brother would be Joey and the other sister would be Mollie. Of course, this was until they got their names from their parents.
Axel and Sierra got back from their talk with the other pack and everyone gathered around them to hear the news.
"We were granted permission to stay here until the pups are strong enough to travel. We can hunt anywhere in their territory as long as it's not the same prey that the other pack is tracking. We share the same common enemy, the humans! They have let us stay here only because we couldn't stay in our territory with pups. After the pups grow up, we shall head back to our land and attack any humans who trespass. We shall show those nasty humans who we are! WE ARE NOT TO BE MESSED WITH!"
Axel ends his speech and everyone starts howling with excitement. "For now we are guests on this land, so be respectful to the other pack but don't let them bully you. Dismissed. Well done everyone."
And so, Akira and the rest of the pack members settled down for the day. The next day everyone was busy making dens in the bushes and finding bedding to sleep in, consisting of mostly torn-up moss and feathers from prey recently caught.
