Chapter 30:Are You in Love?

After distancing himself from Tang Manman, Lin Yu harbored a question in his heart.

If he’s not following the adult comic's original storyline, would the subsequent plots still unfold in this world? Like, in the days to come, would he still encounter the other three female leads? Or perhaps he might meet them, but would the timing, place, and reasons for their interactions vary?

This question perplexed Lin Yu. He couldn’t figure out an answer, but from a logical standpoint, making different choices now should logically lead to different outcomes in the future.

However, it seemed not to work that way in this adult comic world. He had clearly distanced himself from Tang Manman, and his recent lifestyle, habits, and routines vastly diverged from the original character, Yellow Hair's.

Logically, his life path should have completely diverged from Yellow Hair's. Yet, he found himself in this tavern at this moment, encountering the still unnamed second female lead.

It was as if an invisible hand was manipulating everything behind the scenes, leading him here through various choices and coincidences to meet the second female lead.

Reflecting on the choice he made this morning at the crossroads, and the other night after buying stationery at the convenience store, Lin Yu sighed heavily, feeling wearied. He truly sensed an unseen, intangible force at play. Perhaps this was fate?

Shaking off these profound thoughts, Lin Yu focused on today’s encounter with the second female lead. Given the familiar feeling it stirred, Lin Yu recalled some parts of the adult comic's plot.

According to it, the second female lead, just like now, was seeking the bully named Snow, with the same purpose of avenging her harassed brother.

In the original storyline, Snow was hostile towards her, even resorting to violence. It was then that Yellow Hair, looking for a free meal, showed up to confront Snow and took away the second female lead, claiming he could resolve her brother's bullying situation.

The subsequent plot pleased the crowd. "Lovely lady, you surely don’t want your adorable brother to be bullied at school, do you?" Thus, the second female lead succumbed...

That's not right!

Lin Yu rubbed his chin, feeling he had overlooked something. Ah! He suddenly remembered the neglected part, realizing why there was a feeling of disjointedness. The second female lead's adult-themed plot wasn't one part but two!

And the main reason Lin Yu had such a vivid memory of the second female lead was mostly due to that second adult-themed plot!

It was outrageous, so extreme that even among adult comics known for their unrestrained content, it couldn’t hide its excessiveness.

But... what exactly was that plot?

Lin Yu frustratingly raked his fingers through his hair, unable to recall the precise details of that plot at the moment, only knowing it was outrageous and had left a significant traumatic impression on his younger self.

So much so, his disdain for Yellow Hair and his transformation into a champion of pure love were deeply connected to that plot!

If you stumble upon this narrative on Amazon, it's taken without the author's consent. Report it.

Pondering thus, Lin Yu suddenly felt a sharp headache, forcing him to stop his train of thought and drop the matter, planning to revisit it once his health had improved.

Massaging his temples, Lin Yu got up and left "The First Encounter" tavern.

Walking home, Lin Yu reflected on his life since crossing over. All things considered, it hadn’t been bad, despite sustaining a blow to the head and failing to remove his yellow hair.

At least he had managed to save the first female lead, Tang Manman, and resolved his college tuition fees.

The thought of Tang Manman lifted his spirits. Since that night he sent her away, she hadn't appeared, counting roughly, it had been at least ten days since he last saw her.

It seemed her feelings towards him were merely of ordinary gratitude.

But he couldn't afford to let his guard down. To avoid unnecessary trouble, he planned to keep his distance from her when he returned to school.

With this exceptionally good mood, Lin Yu cheerfully proceeded towards his rental house...

"Manman, have you told mom if someone at school has been bullying you?" Tang’s mother, her graceful face tinged with barely concealed anger, had just returned from outside where she caught wind of some rumors concerning her daughter. The typically gentle mother, who treasured Tang Manman above everything, found it hard to contain her agitated emotions.

Caught off-guard by her mother's interrogation, Tang Manman was at first astonished, then quickly recalled recent events. However, she soon realized those issues had been resolved by Lin Yu, thus innocently shaking her head in response to her furious mother, "No, not at all."

"No?" Tang’s mother's voice shot up a notch, nearly becoming shrill, taken aback by such a reply. Recalling those rumors, a more worrying and frightening thought swiftly surfaced in her mind.

"Then are you dating someone?" "At school?" She peered intently at her daughter, those peach blossom eyes resembling Tang Manman's, attempting to discern any lies.

"Not at all," Tang Manman reflexively responded, puzzled why her mother would suddenly ask such an odd question.

"Not dating?" "Then why do many students at your school call you something like... 'Sister-in-law'?" Tang’s mother pressed for answers.

Hearing this nickname caused Tang Manman’s cheeks to blush; she fluttered her hands in front of her in a flustered attempt to explain, "No, not like that." "It's just a misunderstanding!"

Seeing Tang Manman's shy and timid demeanor cooled half of Tang’s mother's worry. It seemed, even if Manman hadn't been dating, she had developed a fondness for someone.

"What misunderstanding, tell mom all about it." Tang’s mother's concern for her daughter's school life was evident.

"I was bullied at school." "But, but it wasn’t him; it was someone else." "He stood up when I was being bullied and saved me." "Then..."

"Then what?" Tang’s mother pressed urgently.

Suddenly, Tang’s mother tensed up, her voice involuntarily rising, "Don’t tell me he’s using this to force you to be his girlfriend?"

"Not at all!" Tang Manman’s cheeks burned brighter as she shook her head. With a mix of embarrassment and slight reproach, she glanced at her mother, continuing, "There were many people there when I was bullied. He said from then on, I was under his protection, and no one else was allowed to bully me." "Maybe because of what he said, many misunderstood our relationship."

Confronted by Tang Manman’s explanation, Tang’s mother's heart sank. It seemed, even if Manman wasn’t in a relationship, she was indeed taken with someone.

"What misunderstanding? Explain it to mom." Tang’s mother's expression grew serious, deeply concerned about her daughter's life at school.

"I was bullied." "But the one who bullied me wasn’t him; it was someone else." "He intervened when I was bullied, rescuing me." "And then..." "And then..."

As Tang Manman hesitated, struggling to continue, her mother urgently inquired, "Then what?"

Suddenly, Tang’s mother’s heart clenched, fear creeping into her voice, "He didn’t threaten you to become his girlfriend because of this, did he?"

"No way!" Tang Manman, her cheeks flushed, shook her head, her gaze shifting between innocence and mild annoyance towards her mother, clarifying, "When I was bullied, many were present. He declared from then on, I was under his protection, forbidding others from bullying me." "Perhaps that’s why many got the wrong idea about us."
