Chapter 8

Magic has four ranks Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced and Master class. There are no chants all you need to do is imagine what type of magic you want to create. That's why most people can't use lightning, they've never seen it before, but even if they had it still drains a lot of mana. Most mages are intermediate in a few different types of magic.

There are many different types of magic, but the most common are fire, water, earth, wind, healing, body modification, light and dark. Light has the most durable spells since a fire ball can't destroy a light barrier unless a lot of power is put into it. Light is mostly used for protection, creating barriers. Dark mostly deals with illusion magic and concealing your presence.

We've been waiting for three days to be emitted into Vaneth Academy. I was sitting in my room when I heard a knock.

Knock Knock Knock

I got up and opened the door.

Dorm Manager:"The headmaster is here to see you. He's waiting outside."

Falon:"Thank you I'll be right there."

She lightly bowed and left.

*Drexel told me the headmaster was Paltor.*

I left my room and went out side. I saw Paltor talking to the dorm manager. He was a lot older then the last time I saw him. He had blue hair that went down to his shoulders and was wearing a black robe with blue stitches swirling up he sleeves.

Over his heart there was a shield with flames on it. This was a symbol worn only by those of royal blood or the headmaster of Vaneth Academy. Since the headmaster is directly under the king he too is considered a royal until a new one takes his place. The headmaster is always the most powerful Mage in the kingdom.

I walked up to him and bowed.

Paltor:"No need to bow. I have come today to personally test you."

Falon:"If I may ask, why has the headmaster come in person and not another teacher."

Paltor:"I heard you saved my sister from almost getting burnt to death."

I didn't say anything back. I realized that that girl I saved was Fraya. The last time I saw her she was 5 so she must be 16 now. I almost smiled, but I was able to keep it in.

Falon:"I had no idea she was your sister."

Paltor:"I would first like to thank you. Also I'm sorry it took me so long I had some business I had to attend to in the palace."

Falon:"The wait was fine it gave me a chance to look around."

Paltor:"Well if you would please follow me. I will dual you in the coliseum."

Falon:"So I have to fight the headmaster."

Paltor:"Don't worry I'll go easy on you."

Falon:"Thanks."

We entered the coliseum and there was actually a pretty big crowd. I looked at all the people and noticed Fraya and Stef in the crowd and next to them was Cal. I recognized her hair and couldn't help but smile at them. Fraya noticed me smiling at them and started blushing while Stef seemed to laugh.

Paltor:"You can use any magic you want and your fists if you can get close enough. I will only use fire magic. You can start whenever you want I'm ready."

I gathered wind in my hand and threw it towards him. He threw himself to the side by shooting fire magic the opposite way. I went after him with water balls, but he evaporated all of them.

I continued to approach him while throwing water balls to keep him occupied. When I thought I was close enough I enhanced my legs with body modification and dashed towards him. I grabbed his right arm twisting it behind his back and shoving his face into the dirt.

Everyone in the coliseum went quite.

Paltor:"That's all I needed to see."

I released his hand and reached out to help him up.

Falon:"Looks like I won old man."

He stopped reaching for my hand and looked at me for a few seconds.

Paltor:"Yes.....you did."

He reached his hand back out and I helped him up.

Paltor:"You can now become an official student, but are you sure you want to. A war is breaking out so all the students here may be sent to the battlefield soon."

Falon:"If that happens than I'll fight."

Paltor:"Very well. I'll have someone escort you to your official room now."

Falon:"Thank you."

Paltor walked towards the exit and was met by Fraya Stef and Cal. He talked to them for a minute and then left with Cal and Stef. Fraya came up to me.

Fraya:"Um....I'll show you to your room now."

Falon:"What about the friends I came here with?"

Fraya:"They will have their test later today. Now please follow me."

She turned and started walking away so I followed after her.

Falon:"So I heard your name is Fraya."

She didn't look back at me.

Fraya:"Yes and I already now your name is Falon."

Falon:"Fraya do you think I could ask you a personal question."

Fraya:"S-s-sure."

Falon:"What can you tell me about Keltor."

She stopped walking and turned to look at me.

Fraya:"How do you know him."

Falon:"I use to know him a while back."

She turned around and kept walking.

Fraya:"He died about eleven years ago."

Falon:"How did he die?"

Fraya:"Apparently he blew himself up. That's all I really know I was a kid at that time, but Paltor and Leon my brothers would know more. The two of them were here at the time and worked as peace keepers."

Falon:"Thank you I'll be sure to ask them."

Fraya:"Don't talk about Keltor around my sister Cal the one that was with us with the two toned hair. She gets angry when she thinks about him to much. She just doesn't like to remember he's dead."

Falon:"Ok I won't ask her."

We arrived at my room and she gave me a key.

Fraya:"I have to go now. I have other duties to attend to."

Falon:"Thank you for bringing me here."

She smiled.

Fraya:"Your welcome."

She turned around and walked away and I went into my room. It was about twice the size of the temporary room with a bed, a desk, a chair and a dresser.

I returned to the temporary room to collect my things and ran into Tessa and Ruby on my way out.

Ruby:"Where are you headed to?"

Falon:"I passed my tested and got a new room so I'm moving my stuff."

Tessa:"What! Why haven't we been given a test yet!"

Falon:"They told me they would give both of you a test later today."

Ruby:"About time. I'm sick of waiting around."

Tessa:"Well I guess we have to wait here for the rest of the day so that we don't miss our test."

I left and put all my belongings in my new room then headed towards a building off to the side of the Academy.

This building was where special weapons were made for each student. As long as your a student here you could ask for anything you wanted to be made. If you wanted special material used you had to bring it with you. Vaneth Academy was actually pretty famous for the weapons it created.

I entered the building and saw a dwarven girl asleep on the ground next to a new looking sword. She had brown hair that went a little past her ears and looked like a little kid. A blue haired dwarven boy came walking up to me.

Dwarven boy:" Hello are you here to request a weapon?"

Falon:"Yes I have blue prints that I drew."

I pulled out some papers from my bag and handed them over to the boy.

Falon:"Will you be forging it."

Dwarven boy:"No Lukilin my sister will. That's her asleep right there. I only handle enchantments."

Falon:"Could you wake her up I need to talk to her about my weapon."

Dwarven boy:"sure."

The dwarven boy walked over to his desk picked up a glass of water. He then went over to the girl and dumped it on her.

Lukilin:"What's happening!!!"

Lukilin jumped up and grabbed the sword.

Dwarven boy:"Lukilin we have a customer that needs to talk to you about a weapon he wants made."

Lukilin:"You didn't have to dump water on me Masir!"

Masir:"Just go talk to him here take the blue prints."

Lukilin took the blue prints from Masir and started looking over them then walked towards me.

Lukilin:"What kind of weapon is this."

Falon:"I can't tell you. I need you to make the pieces and I'll assemble it myself."

Lukilin:"So what did you want to say to me."

Falon:"I need to know how good you are at your job."

Lukilin:"I can forge any kind of weapon and mine will always be of better quality than anyone else's."

I talked to her for a while about how exactly I wanted my weapons made and looked at a few she made already. I could tell she was exceptionally good so after a few hours I paid up front and left.

I decided to go to the merchants section to buy a few things. After a few different shops I found what I was looking for a space disruption bag. It was a black satchel that had an infinite space inside. I could put and infinite number of objects inside and it would never be full. It only weighed about five pounds no matter what was in it. The items could only be taken out of the bag if you knew it was in there. If you want something in it you reach you hand into it and think about the object.

I bought it and went to an alchemy shop next. There I bought many different kinds of powders. My order was so big that I bought out multiple stores and put it all in my satchel.

I had every thing I wanted so I headed back to Vaneth Academy.

*********200 Years Ago Isaac POV*************

When I woke up I was strapped to a table and I could see Tessa standing at the end of it.

Isaac:"What's going on?"

She didn't answer me, and started giggling. Her hair started to get darker and two short horns appeared on her forehead the. I saw a tail poke out from behind her. The woman standing in front of me wasn't Tessa it was a demon.

Isaac:"A succubus!"

Succubus:"Hahahahah! You got tricked so easily for such a powerful swordsman!"

I new that a succubus was born with natural talent in dark magic. She used an illusion to make me think she was Tessa.

Isaac:"What do you want from me!"

Succubus:"We want a king."

Isaac:"What makes you think I can help you find a king."

Succubus:"We don't need to find one cause we already have one. It's you."

Isaac:"Ha! A me as your Demon King! Even if I accepted there's no way the demons would follow a human!"

Succubus:"They will follow you, because you won't be human."

Isaac:"I would never betray my own people for you monsters!"

Succubus:"You'll become much more powerful and you will help us."

A demon man came walking in behind the succubus.

Demon Man:"Is this him?"

Succubus:"Yup. He'll make a great king."

The demon man walked over to me and looked down at me. I saw he had some old book in his hand.

Demon Man:"Lets start."

Succubus:"Yes! I'm so excited."

The demon man pulled out a bottle with many different colored liquids in it and started to dump his mana into it. The succubus walked up to him and pricked her finger then let the blood drop into the bottle. After a few minutes she took her hand away and the demon man stopped adding mana to it.

He pulled out a dagger and stabbed it into my stomach.

Isaac:"Ahhhhhhhh!"

He then poured the liquid in the bottle into where he stabbed me and dashed out of the room. The succubus climbed on top of me and kissed me reaching her tongue into my mouth. Then suddenly lightning started to shoot out of my body into different directions. The succubus then pulled her tongue out of my mouth.

Succubus:"I'm the priestess so I get to be your wife my name is Lana. I'm looking forward to our life together."

The succubus grabbed the old book that was lying next to me that the demon man left. She opened it and started chanting something and the lightning started to die down. My head started feeling like it was splitting open and my vision started going black.

I was suddenly able to break through the chains that bond me to the table and I shoved the succubus away. I got up but stumbled. When I looked up I could see myself in a mirror. My hair had turned partially white.

I heard the succubus continue her chant from behind me and I lost all control of my body. I fell to the floor and passed out.

When I finally woke up I tried to open my eyes. I couldn't open my eyes or move. There were some people around me talking in a language I didn't know.
