Chapter 3

While I was asleep I saw a dream. I was Keltor again on the day that I died. I was sitting at a desk and in front of me was some kind of book, but I couldn't make out what it said. It looked really old and home made wrapped in some kind of leather. When I tried to touch it, I saw blood all over my hand. When I pulled my hand back I suddenly woke up.

Falon:"What kind of dream was that?"

I looked over to Tessa and saw she was still asleep, so I decided to leave the hole and look around. I opened it up and crawled out of it. My body was still not at 100% but I felt better.

Falon:" I wonder who that guy was and why attack this orphanage."

I didn't feel any presences, but I went to look around. After about 20 minutes I decided to bury all the kids. I left all their graves unmarked in cast the demon and that white haired guy came back.

I returned to the hole and dragged Tessa out. While I was waiting for her to wake up, I created a knife from earth and used it to cut my hair to just above the ears. When I finished, I noticed Tessa starting to wake up.

Falon:" Hey you ok."

She sat up and stared at me for a few seconds.

Tessa:" Falon...........where are the kids."

I didn't say anything, but she could understand what happened. Tears started to form at the edges of her eyes, and she started crying into her hands. I just sat there since I knew nothing I said would help.

After she was done crying, she looked up at me.

Tessa:" What..........should I do now?"

Falon:" The people who attacked us seemed to be after you. Why?"

Tessa:" I don't know why."

Falon:" Fine we need to leave here as soon as possible. How do you feel."

Tessa:" I'm.....fine but where will we go."

Falon:" Vaneth Academy, I knew one of the people who attacked us."

Tessa:"Who!"

Falon:"I can't tell you right now. I'm not even sure if it was him."

Tessa:"Are you planning to kill him."

Falon:"I don't know yet."

Tessa:"I want to be there when it happens."

Falon:"..................sure."

When I looked into her eyes, I could see sadness and anger. I wonder if she even remembers that just yesterday I was 5. I tossed the bag I packed over to her.

Falon:" I packed some of your clothes. Put something else on, your current clothes are to burnt to keep wearing."

Tessa:"Thanks."

Falon:" I'll be waiting outside. We will leave as soon as your ready."

Tessa:"Ok."

I left the room and went outside. I stood there for a few minutes before Tessa came out with a green shirt, brown pants and black boots with a cloak on.

Falon:"Follow me and stay close someone might still be around here."

She nodded her head, and I started walking towards the forest.

After about an hour of walking, I suddenly felt something running towards us. I pulled out the knife I made and told Tessa to stay behind me. I could her branches breaking as it approached us. It came into sight, and I could tell that it was a wolf. The wolf had silver fur and was about as tall as I was.

Instead of letting it get close I used electricity to launched the knife into it's eye like a rail gun. The blade penetrated it's eye then came out the back of it's head and kept going.

Falon:"Well I guess that knife is gone."

The wolf fell to the ground and slide right up to my feet. When I looked down at it I could see wearing a collar.

Falon:"The wolf has a slave collar on we better get out of here before it's master shows up."

After a few hours of walking we finally made it to a merchants trail. We spent two days of traveling to get to the closes city called Haven. I created a few fake coins using earth magic to pay the toll to get into the city.

Once inside the city we headed to an inn, and got one room with two beds. When we entered the room Tessa went over and dropped down onto a bed.

Tessa:"Oooooohh. This feels so good."  

Falon:"Tessa I'm going out you stay here."

Tessa:"Hey! I'm the adult here."

*so she did remember.*

Falon:"I know you are, but if you get into trouble while I'm not around can you protect yourself."

Tessa stood on top of her bed and put her hands on her waist.

Tessa:" I've never lost a fight before!"

Falon:"Who was the last person you fought."

Tessa:"I've...........never been in a fight, but that just means I've never lost."

I walked over to her and grabbed her hand. I used body modification magic to force her to fall asleep, and she fell into my arms. I pulled the blanket back on her bed and put her in it then left the room and locked it.

Falon:"Well she should sleep until I get back."

I walked around to a few stores and bought a plain brown shirt, brown pants, black boots, some light armor, a whole bunch of throwing knives, a short sword and a map.

I found out that we were about three weeks away from Vaneth Academy. Haven was a merchants city where you could find anything you wanted. Slaves had a huge market here since Haven was close to the border of Demon country you could even find Demon women. The men were never captured alive, and the women were hard to control even with a slave collar which forces submission so they where usually just sex slaves.

I wanted to try and gather some information so I decided to visit the adventures guild. When I came through the front door I could smell all the sweat. There were a lot of men gathered around tables with mugs drinking, a few women who mostly seemed to be waitresses and one or two that were adventurers.

I saw a man at the counter sitting on a stole who appeared to be a beastman with a tail ears on the top of his head and short brown hair. He was about five foot eleven with thin compact muscles and leather armor over black pants and a shirt. He looked like he was about 20. He had a sword at his side that appeared to be a rapier.

I decided to talk to him so I approached him. I tapped him on the shoulder and he turned around.

Falon:"Hello my name is Falon can I buy you a drink."

Beastman:"Sorry dude but I don't swing that way."

Falon:"Neither do I. I just wanted to talk."

Beastman:"Well that's fine here sit next to me. My name is Drexel."

Falon:"It's nice to meet you Drexel. I was wondering have heard any news about the demons lately."

Drexel:"Of course I have that's all anyone's talking about ever since they decided to invade us."

Falon:"So there starting a war how long has it been since it started."

Drexel:"Well about a month. A buddy of mine told me the King nearly shit himself when he heard a new Demon King showed up."

My eyes widened when I heard that. It's been 200 years since the death of the last Demon King and not many records of him were left.

Falon:"I didn't know there was a new Demon King."

Drexel:"Yeah he leveled a dwarven city with one attack. He's not someone I want to meet."

Falon:"Is Gart still ok." (Note: In case you forgot Gart is the biggest human city, where the king lives and where Vaneth Academy is located.)

Drexel:"Yeah it's fine, but the King has order all the students at Vaneth Academy to prepare for war."

So I need to get to Gart as soon as I can.

Falon:"What can you tell me about Keltor Thron."

Drexel:"Thron. I don't know anything about a Keltor, but there's a couple of other Throns I've heard of."

Falon:"Could you tell me about them."

Drexel:"Well there's Paltor Thron he's the Head Master of Vaneth Academy and there's Leon Thron who's a knight who serves under the first crown prince Nalen Dranian and I think there were two girls who go to Vaneth Academy, but I don't remember much about them."

Falon:"That's fine thanks. My talk with you helped a lot."

Drexel:"Hey you headed to Gart cause I'm goin that way if you want a travelin companion."

Falon:"When are you leaving?"

Drexel:"I was plannin on headin out tomorrow, but I can wait another day if you want."

Falon:" No tomorrow is good, but I have someone else traveling with me."

Drexel:"That's great the more the merrier. Lets meet at the west exit tomorrow morning after breakfast."

Falon:"Sure I'm looking forward to traveling with you."

Drexel:"Me too make sure you bring some money money cause I'm all out."

He put on a big smile.

Falon:"So that's why yo wanted to travel with me."

Drexel:" That's not true I just like talking to you."

I started walking away and turned to look at Drexel before I left and saw him flirting with one of the waitresses. I left and started heading to the inn, but stopped to buy some food.

When I finally made it back to the room, I had to wake Tessa up because she was still asleep.

Falon:"Wake up I've got some food."

I shook her and dispelled the magic I used to make her sleep. It took her a minute to open her eyes and sit up.

Falon:"Here you need to eat something."

Tessa:"When did I fall a sleep?"

Falon:"You yelled at me about how you were an adult and wore yourself out."

Tessa:"You did something didn't you."

Falon:"I didn't do anything now eat."

Tessa took the dried beef I gave her and started to nibble on it.

Falon:"I met a beastman named Drexel who's gonna travel with us to Gart."

Tessa:"This tastes horrible."

Tessa continued to nibble on the meat while complaining about how it tasted.

*So what I gonna say to my family when I see them and what if they think that white haired Keltor is me.*
