Chapter 35

****************Jeanette POV***************

I had a lot of paperwork to do again today so I reluctantly dragged myself to the study. The door was already unlocked when I got there so I entered cautiously. Many important documents are kept here so it's actually guarded pretty well. I was hopping someone was inside since a good fight is just what I needed to pick my spirits up.

Jeanette:"Oh."

I sighed dejectedly. There was no intruder.

Fraya:"Good morning Jeanette. I've come to help you with your paperwork today."

Jeanette:"Thanks. All this work is killing me."

I sat down and started working, but after a few minutes I decided to escape.

Jeanette:"Fraya. I forgot a few papers in my bedroom. I'll be right back."

Fraya:"Ok."

I slipped out of the room and dashed down the hallway. It would be about an hour and a half before Fraya realizes all the work was dumped on her. I quickly made my way outside of the palace. Cal always goes for a run at around this time so I planned to join her. When I found her, she was still getting ready for her run.

Cal:"Jeanette what are you doing here?"

Jeanette:"I came to join you in your run."

Cal:"Don't you have work to do?"

Jeanette:"Fraya decided to cover for me. She said I deserved a break."

Cal smiled widely.

Cal:"She's always trying to help others out. I have such a good little sister."

We started the run. Cal had more stamina than any of us so I had to use magical enhancements just to keep running after a while. When we did finally stop Cal was only lightly sweating. We got some water and went to a practice hall to continue. After a while Tessa suddenly showed up.

Tessa:"Good morning you two."

Cal picked up a towel and threw one to me.

Cal:"Good morning Tessa."

Jeanette:"Morning Mom."

Tessa:"Don't you have work to do Jeanette."

Jeanette:"Fraya told me she'd handle it."

Tessa:"Oh."

Tessa sat down nearby while we continued our practice.

Cal:"So what are you doing here Tessa."

Cal decided to start a conversation while we practiced.

Tessa:"I was feeling a little bored so I came to watch."

Cal:"You shouldn't do to much while your pregnant."

Tessa:"I'm just watching so it's fine. Oh yeah, Jeanette Falon told me you won't call him daddy."

I stopped what I was doing and looked over at her.

Jeanette:"I'm already an adult so I can't call him that anymore."

Tessa:"He was very sad that you called him Falon. Don't you want to cheer him up."

I turned my head away from her defiantly.

Jeanette:"He has to get use to it."

Tessa:"Some adults still call their parents mommy and daddy you know."

Jeanette:"I don't wanna!"

Tessa:"Come ooooon. Just say it now. The three of us are the only ones here so you can say it."

There was silence for a few minutes before Jeanette opened her mouth.

Jeanette:".......daddy."

There was another silence then Tessa jumped in the air.

Tessa:"Yeeeeees! I did it!"

Jeanette:"What?"

I was very confused then I noticed something looked wrong with Tessa. She was changing and soon took the form of Falon.

Falon:"I did it! I did it! I did it!"

He was jumping up and down. I suddenly felt a surge of anger flowing through me so I lunged at him, but he dodged then I continued my attack.

Falon:"I had to give Tessa a very thorough massage last night in order to learn every contour of her body."

I continued to press my attack, but he didn't seem to care. His arms wrapped around me and pulled me into a hug.

Falon:"Call me daddy again!"

I tried to wiggle out, but he was just to strong.

Jeanette:"No!"

Falon:"I won't stop hugging you then!"

After a while of struggling I finally gave up.

Jeanette:"I give up..............daddy."

His hug loosened and I was placed back on the ground.

Falon:"Your such a good girl Jeanette."

He smiled at me so I puffed out my cheeks and looked the other way.

Jeanette:"Your mean daddy."

Falon:"Hahahahahah! Remember I use to be the Demon King!"

Cal:"I didn't know you could look like us?"

Falon:"It's not easy. I'd need to learn every inch of your body first."

Cal came a little closer with a smile on her face.

Cal:"Want to change into me!"

Falon:"I think we need to talk in private a little later."

Cal:"Oh! Alone! Sure!"

Falon:"I'll come find you. I need to go tell Tessa about my great victory."

He ran off with a grin.

Cal:"I wonder what he's got planned for later."

Jeanette:"I think he's going senile. How old is he anyway?"

There was a brief silence.

Cal:"......I'm not sure."

*****************Falon POV****************

I went to see Tessa, but found out she was having a nap so I quietly left. Fraya was probably stuck doing the paperwork alone so I decided to help her. When I entered the study Fraya looked at me with pleading eyes.

Falon:"I'm here to help you."

Fraya:"Thank you! I thought I would be stuck doing this alone!"

Falon:"We should probably hire some people to do this work."

Fraya:"We can't hire just anyone. This is important work."

Falon:"I think Jenny and her sisters could do this work. They know how to read and write so this shouldn't be too hard as long as the papers are sorted between approved and rejected first."

Fraya:"Jeanette will have to sort them since she is the current queen. The public probably wouldn't be happy about having demons still making decisions for them so Jeanette can't completely get out of her duties."

Falon:"Those three weren't originally demons. The use to be human."

Fraya:"They were human? What happened to them?"

Falon:"They wanted power so Laya changed them."

I shrugged and Fraya sighed.

Fraya:"She's a little crazy."

Falon:"A little."

I agreed. We finished the paperwork faster then I thought we would. Fraya was actually very good at this kind of work. I new it would be time to eat dinner in a little over an hour and that Cal usually spent this time in her room so I went to talk to her. I stood in front of the door and knocked.

Knock knock knock

Cal:"Who is it?"

Falon:"It's me Falon."

Cal:"Oh! One minute!"

I heard her running around then she opened the door. Her hair was down and wet. She was wearing a bathrobe and I could smell the scent of soap.

Falon:"I came to talk, but I guess this is a bad time."

I was going to leave, but she grabbed my shirt sleeve.

Cal:"It's fine."

I entered with her still holding my sleeve then she released it and went over to a corner of her room. She pulled out a folding screen and brought it over to the rather large tub she was using. I sat on her bed and she spread out the folding screen then went behind it.

Cal:"You can talk while I bathe."

She draped her bathrobe over the folding screen and I could make out her silhouette as she climbed into the tub. I knew we were once blood related, but I still couldn't stop all my blood from rushing to a certain place.

Falon:"I came to talk to you about the future."

Cal:"Future?"

Falon:"Yes. I need to know what your feelings are towards me."

Cal popped her out the side of the folding screen and looked at me.

Cal:"It's obvious. I love you."

Falon:"What kind of love specifically?"

Water started to pool on the ground below where she stuck her head out and she smiled.

Cal:"I love you just as much as Tessa."

Falon:".....I see."

Her smile turned into a frown.

Cal:"That's rude. I just poured my heart out to you and all you say is I see."

Falon:"Sorry."

I got down on one knee.

Falon:"Would you like to marry me?"

Cal:"Hahahaha! I didn't expect that!"

Falon:"Now who's being rude!"

Cal:"What about Tessa?"

Falon:"She'll be apart of the wedding. Along with a few other people."

Cal sighed.

Cal:"I knew it would end up like this."

Falon:"So? What's your answer?"

Cal stepped out from behind the folding screen naked.

Cal:"Of course I'll marry you."

I reflexively turned away.

Cal:"Hey! If we're getting married this won't be the last time you see me naked."

I turned my head back to her. Water was dripping off of her and increasing the size of the puddle forming under her.

Falon:"Sorry."

Cal:"Good. Now bask in my beauty."

She spread her arms out with a look of joy on her face.

Falon:"You look very beautiful."

I stood up and started walking towards the door.

Falon:"Finish your bath and get ready for dinner."

I opened the door, but before I could leave Cal's hands wrapped around my waist.

Cal:"Why don't you join me in the bath."
