Caden woke up with a smile on his face as he reminisced about his childhood with Josef in his dream. He closed his eyes again as he tried to recall his dream, trying to relive the beautiful moments they had spent together as kids. Caden remembered the old Josef, and compared to now, he was like a different person. He was still a bit silent and reserved at times, especially with new people, but it was a huge improvement from before, he now had friends other than Caden, and he even found himself a girlfriend, Avery.
Caden's delightful reminiscing of the past was suddenly interrupted when he realized what was happening around him. When he first woke up, he did not care about the surroundings and closed his eyes, but as he opened them again, he realized that the ceiling wasn't familiar to him, and he had forgotten why he was asleep in the first place, since he wasn't that much of a sleeper when it came to school.
"Wait, what?" Caden mumbled to himself. "Where am I?"
Caden tried to move but failed to do so as he realized that his hands and feet were tightly chained to a sort of surgery table. The table itself was made out of stainless steel, while the chains themselves were made out of thick metal.
Caden was confused as he did not remember how he got there, but as he looked around his surroundings, his confusion morphed into fear as he saw something truly gruesome in his peripheral vision, something so disgusting and morbid that he wanted to puke there and then. He wanted it all to be just a silly dream, but the sensation he felt whenever he moved felt extremely real, he could even feel the coolness of the metal that bound him. The thing he saw from the corner of his eye was a mountain of corpses. Caden panicked as he saw the dead bodies of the students. He saw their eyes looking towards him, which made Caden all the more frightened. He tried his best not to puke, but from all the blood that was leaking from the lifeless pile, he couldn't help himself and he threw up, luckily, he was able to face the side just in time as his vomit hit the floor, if he hadn't, then he would have covered himself in his own stomach juices.
Caden tried to calm down a bit. He knew what he just saw was real, but there was no changing that. He needed to know what was happening, but first he needed to save himself. Because he was chained to the table, he knew that he would soon join the other students in the bloody pile. He needed to find a way to escape, but he didn't know what to do. He carefully observed the chains that bound him, and as he looked closer, he realized that the chains were automatic, since he found no keyhole or any latch that the chains use in order to open and close, he inferred that they must have been controlled from somewhere.
Caden observed the room in order to find anything that could help him. The walls, including the ceiling, were painted white with some spots, especially in the corner filled with corpses, were stained red with blood. There were countless ampules that were lined up on the table filled with an unknown liquid, syringes stacked inside an open drawer near the ampules, computers lined up in a row to the left of the table Caden was lying on, and to his right, there were nearly a dozen tools, including a bloody pair of scissors, a bloody surgical knife, bloody used surgical gloves, basically surgical tools but covered in blood. Caden was a bit freaked out about the bloody tools, as he knew that if he couldn't find a way out, those tools would be used on him next, and he didn't want to find out how they would be used on him.

As Caden panicked to find any clue that could help him escape from his situation, he saw a red button that was beside the computer. Since it was his only clue, he had hoped that if he pressed it, his binds would open, but he had another problem, he was simply too far away to hit the button, and let's not forget that he is currently immobilized by the chains.
He almost lost hope, as his saving grace was in his field of vision but was simply impossible to get to from his situation, he had already accepted his fate, but he realized something that could save him. In his breast pocket lies a pocket watch. He didn't need it in his everyday life as smartphones can do the same thing, tell the time, and are even more efficient at it, but it was like a good luck charm for Caden, and in this situation, it was his last hope for survival.
He rocked his body up and down until the small pocket watch slid out from his breast pocket, sliding out and into his chin, he then grabbed it with his mouth, and it was time for the decisive moment. He needed to toss the pocket watch using only his head and hit the red button, but the only problem was that if he missed, it was over. He first closed his eyes as he thought about times that he attended church. He wasn't that religious of a person, but in moments like this, he had called upon all the saints in the world in order to give him their blessings as he left it in the hands of whatever god he worshipped. He swung his face left and right in order for the watch to gain enough momentum to reach the button, and when he was ready, he opened his mouth as the pocket watch flew out from his lips. He closed his eyes as he didn't want to see the tiny clock not hit the button, and in the next moment he heard a small thud followed by the opening of the chains.
As he opened his eyes, he realized that he had done it, so he quickly got out of the surgical table and jumped up and down like a monkey. He almost stepped on his fresh vomit as he celebrated the stroke of luck that finally blessed him. He felt incredible, he felt like he could do anything at this moment. Unfortunately, his celebration was toned down as he realized that he shouldn't be this happy as a pile of corpses lay in the corner of the room, their dead eyes were still looking in Caden's general direction. He walked towards the pocket watch he had thrown, it was now on the ground after hitting the red button that freed him from a bloody fate. The glass was now shattered and the shards of glass scattered on the floor. He grabbed the pocket watch and gave it a quick kiss in order to thank the object for saving him. He swept the shards of glass under the table using his shoes, as he did not want anyone to find the evidence of his escape.
Caden looked around the room again. At this moment, he had realized that the room wasn't familiar to him, not in the slightest, he wasn't even sure if there were any facilities like this in the school.
"What the fuck is happening?" he said to himself.
In order to free himself from the gaze of the dead students and to find the answers to his question, he walked towards the door that could be found in the far left of the room on the opposite side of the corpses. As he was ready to twist the white metallic doorknob in order to leave, he suddenly stopped. He became nervous and scared for his life as he heard footsteps approaching from the opposite side of the door.
