Chapter 10
It seemed that the simple act of killing had taken a toll on the simple minded Ravana who had lived a normal life until then. Even though he had killed animals and other demonic beasts, it was different when it came to killing humans who looked and showed emotions like him.
Ravana froze as he heard the soft muttering of Kashyapa. The rage and resentment came pouring out of him like a dark mist.
"Well, I'm not like you who can cast his own blood aside and hurt his family mercilessly. I have a conscience that doesn’t let me do things that hurt others who might have a family like me. Unlike you, I've cast aside all my feelings and emotions. You won't understand." Ravana insidiously spoke. As soon as he finished speaking he felt a cold chill in his neck. It seemed his heart stopped for a moment as he felt a strange intent around him. This was the same kind of feeling he felt when he had seen a tiger locking on him for the first time, only this feeling was magnified by a thousand time. He felt that even If he breathed he would be killed. As he was feeling conscious about the fact, he heard a soft voice which sounded like that of a reaper.
"This coming from a stupid child who has been sheltered all his life. THAT I DON’T UNDERSTAND ABOUT FAMILY!! Me who fought so that my family could be sheltered, who killed so that the children of my family won't have t. Who had to beg and bow his head in front of weaklings so that his nephew's life could be spared? And I am called emotionless by a brat who pees and cries the first time he kills an insect!"
Ravana was dumbfounded as he heard the emotions and word spoken by Kashyapa. He could also see the rage and helplessness that Kashyapa felt as shown in his eyes. After a while, Kashyapa seemed to calm down. He looked at Ravana and sighed.
"I know it feels disgusting when you think about the people you killed and their families. However, you should also think what would happen if you didn’t kill them. How many families would have to be sacrificed so that their own stomachs can be filled? How many innocent people would have to die before they are stopped or they stop doing these things? Those guys are the scum of the world. No one is going to miss them after they are gone." He pointed towards the village which seemed so peaceful and continued" Look how peaceful the atmosphere is right now. How the villagers are happy. Do you think it would be the same if those people were still alive?"
Hearing this Ravana pondered for a while. Slowly the dull look in his eyes which carried the self hatred started vanishing and radiance started building in his eyes. It seemed he had finally gotten back together the missing pieces of his thoughts.
"If your heart is in the right place and what you do helps others, even massacring a thousand turns out to be the right thing to do."
Something primal awakened in Ravana as he heard this. It seemed he caught on to something that he hadn't known before. He felt a power fill up his body that made him seem to do anything. Taking deep breaths he controlled the urge to roar out loud.
After controlling his urge he looked at Kashyapa. Awkward silence filled the air as they both turned away from each other, but it seemed that Ravana had resolved some of the hatred towards Kashyapa.

"Oh right, the villagers said that the men and children of the villages were taken to serve some god. Do you know anything about this?" Ravana suddenly asked. After a brief look of confusion, Kashyapa closed his eyes. Ravana was dumbfounded as he saw Kashyapa meld with surrounding as if he was the part of land air and everything living. Kashyapa suddenly trembled and opened his eyes which seemed surpised all of a sudden.
"Tvastar!" he suddenly shouted. Startled Ravana asked who he was. Kashyapa had a complicated and shrewd look in his eyes as he turned towards Ravana. He muttered" May be this is fate as well."
Then he spoke to Ravana" Listen Ravana, this might be advantageous situation to you though it's a lot more dangerous. The god that has come to this land is Tvastar. He can be said to be one of the greatest blacksmith and weapon maker present today. He even built the Vajra of Indra who is the king of the gods. So you should know how good his skills are. It seems he's here to build another powerful type of weapon."
With indigence Ravana asked" But isn’t he a god? Why would he take the villagers then?"
With a deep sigh Kashyapa spoke" For two reasons. The first reason is to mine the minerals and ores found here along with stoking the fire properly while refining the ores. The second reason is to…. It's to use all the captured villagers for sacrifice."
Ravan was aghast when he heard this. Seeing his pale face Kashyapa spoke
"Think about it. Even though Tvastar is a great blacksmith, his weapon wouldn’t be up to par if cant feed it powerful pure energies. Also he can't cool the weapon after hammering it and enflaming it with fire with any normal water. Besides what is a more pure form of energy than the souls of the people especially those who are simple minded. And what better to cool the weapon with than the blood of the humans. Even though it’s a taboo method, it's a strong method to utilize to form a weapon."
The more Kashyapa spoke, the more horrified Ravana became. "We should stop this." He spoke
With a calculative look in his eyes which seemed out of place with the sage getup on his face, Kashyapa spoke" I would love to help them. But then I wouldn’t be able to concentrate on keeping your mother and the children safe. Who knows when they might get attacked by some of the gods?"
Even though Ravana sensed something out of place going on, in his panic he forgot to take notice of it.
"Then what should he do? He asked Kashyapa. Ever since his mind and heart got cleared it seemed Ravana started looking towards Kashyapa for some ideas and instructions."
"I can't but you can." Kashapa spoke with a little smile in his face.
"Me?" Ravana looked at Kashyapa with an uncomprehending look in his eyes.
"Don’t forget your heritage child. Don’t forget that in your veins is the blood of the gods and demons alike." Just as Ravana's blood started boiling it cooled down as he heard Kasyapa's further words
"However it's true that you are a weakling right now. You wouldn’t be able to match the followers much less the Tvastar himself. So let me help you." Saying this he pointed his fingers toward the forehead of Ravana and a connection started forming between them. Information started flowing inside Ravanas head which he seem to understand easily. This made him gape in amazement. As the information stopped flowing in his head he looked at Kashyapa.
"This is the most powerful body strengthening scripture I have right now. I found it some years ago and took a liking to it. Unfortunately for me, I had practiced some other techniques and couldn’t use this one as this scripture requires the body to be untouched by other methods. Also my focus is in other things rather than on cultivating the body. Hence I give it to you. You can utilize it to strengthen your body."
Kashyapa nonchalantly said.
Nodding his head, Ravan closed his eyes and looked at the technique imprinted in his memory.
"Immortal Body Cultivation technique" the first line of the technique read.
