Chapter 3:BLaCK LaMB oF THe FLoCK

Year 2513

A guy wearing an apron entered the HQ. He seemed exhausted.

"Sir, the project..huh..the project failed.....

A voice came from the shady part of the HQ

"..*sigh*..Then throw it to the dump"

"But, sir..it was a mega pro..."

A figure walked closer to the guy with the apron, making his silhouette partly visible

"No matter what, a failed project is A FAILED PROJECT"

Year 2975, 30 September

"Ayesha, where is the last member?" a black guy asked.

A second thunderstruck Ayesha's mind. She was so much grieved by the case of the bot that she forgot to find a 5th member for the squad.

"Um..um..agh..ca can't we convince the head that we don't need 5 members?"

A confident-looking young man sighed, "So, you really couldn't find a 5th member, huh?"

"Ia..um..look we are already strong enough. Me, Noah, Bruno, and you, Musa. I think the head would spare ''

Noah pushed her glasses and said, "Don't talk nuts. The council sets the rules, not the academy."

They were waiting in the hall room alongside hundreds of more students. It was the day to submit everyone's beta squad.

As mentioned earlier, Musa, Bruno, and Noah were her close friends. Musa was tanned strong looking around five and a half feet guy. Bruno on the other hand was not strong or bulky. His true power was in his agility, thanks to his sleek body type. He was also kind of shorter than the others. Noah on the other hand looked older than her age, having some exceptional growth and puberty changes. She always wore glasses so that excessive light wouldn't damage her sensitive eyes.

Ron was spending his time in the library. He lost interest in the hunt lot ago. He just expected the best for Ayesha. The academy library was gigantic. 4 semi-floors were connecting themselves with a stair in between. Each semi-floor had two bookshelves and each shelf consisted of a particular genre. The color magenta surely got priority when the interior of the Library was decorated. And there were chairs, sofas, and many more pieces of furniture on both sides of the shelf. Ron was into Biology recently. The books didn't contain much aside from what type of casualty a creature can cause and what was their weak point. Ron was looking into the shelves finding if any of these books catch his attention.

Suddenly a voice came from the opposite side of the shelf.

"Not interested in the bounty hunt?"

Ron wasn't expecting something like this but tried to control his sentiment and answered

"Um. I am not suited there."

"And why do you think that?"

"Because I lack cosmium."

"Go to the hall room. You are the person needed most."

Ron now got skeptical. He took a book from the shelf to see to the opposite side.

None. There was none. But the exit door was still motioning, confirming someone actually was there and got out now. So he at least got sure it wasn't a hallucination.

A girl walked in and directly went to the desk on the stage. She was moderately built and red-headed. Her badge showed she was a final-semester student.

" Dear underclassmen. I request you to stay quiet now. As I call your names out, you will come to my desk and you will be given a form" It was a woman's voice.

"Hey, where's the voice coming from ?"Bruno asked.

Ayesha murmured, "Don't you know? This is Jennifer, head of the 'Cosmium Department' Of our academy. Her cosmium lets her send messages through her brains. Pretty efficient cosmium, isn't it?"

Bruno mocked, "Of course more than your toxic one. God knows if anyone saw you using that power."

Ayesha gave Bruno a head slap

"Don't mock my cosmium, you mantis"

Brock's team was present there as well. As always Ryan was by his side. Ryan was the brain, Brock the brawn. Ryan had an almost identical body structure to Bruno. Not a powerhouse but agile. The other members of the group were some of the most powerful students in the section. Brock never had particularly any ties with other students rather than Ryan. But these students volunteered themselves to please Brock, as they thought that would manage the affection from the principal. The team as well had Mio. She was one of the finest healers. Thus Brock's team was a real big threat, just not for the other squads but also the for the beasts of Verma outskirts.

Jeniffer gave everyone a form.

Ayesha filled in all the information about the 4 members.

Then Jennifer started calling out names to receive the form.

When Ayesha went to submit her form, Jeniffer inspected the form and asked with telepathy, "Where's the fifth member?"

Ayesha became nervous

"Ah..5th member..yeah fifth member right...'

She suddenly glanced over the hall room gate to find Ron peeking.

She told Jeniffer, "Wait for a second''

Ran toward Ron and pulled him toward Jennifer's desk

Ron started sweating with agitation

"Uh..I.I was just seeing how things were going.."

Ayesha pulled Ron to Jennifer's desk

"Here's my final member"

Jeniffer laughed and said, using her lips not telepathy "Ok, sign here, boy"

Bruno, Noah, Musa, and Ron all had the same thought together

"A Fuck, now there's a black lamb in the flock"
