Looking at his own stats, he sprung up from the bed, amazed at what he was seeing. He also read the description of his class and specialization, which read The Draught is a rare class, which deals with powerful defensive methods.

The Armorer specialization relies on a hard shell that can be summoned anytime. The shell is a condensed form of Mana and your mutated cells. When you stop supplying it with Mana, the shell will disappear and you’ll revert back to your original state.

He was also amazed by the knowledge that was in his mind, all those concepts and spells he could learn. Many things could be learnt only by practice, but the concepts of the elements and a few tips could be inherited from Cor’s blood, even if Cor himself couldn’t use Magic. Cosmological Constant and other similarly complex spells were different since if he gained the skill only if he understood the basics. Although he learned about it from Cor, he couldn’t use it effectively.

This was the true reason Devourers were feared so much and nobody wanted to let them grow. Although other Legendary creatures like the Dragon God were able to do similar things and create blood servants, their servants didn’t inherit so much from their masters and because the other legendary creatures weren’t born with the goal to destroy the universe, they obviously weren’t chased. Of course, nobody knew that Elena changed her mind, but nobody would believe it, even if she said it.

In fact, most people prefer to get as far away from legendary creatures as possible for they are truly powerful. Surely, anyone killing the devourer would be glorified and turned into a hero. The only problem was that people had problems finding them, and once they grew up enough, they’d be even more dangerous than in their first few years because of the true power of their Devour skill.

Clenching his fists, he felt how much stronger he became. Excited to use Magic, he looked at a vase of flowers and raised his hand. Trying to use the knowledge in his mind, he formed a dark ball in his palm and shot it towards the flowers. It passed through them without any problem and the flowers rotted. The only problem was that it continued to move forward and it was about to hit the wall when a hand appeared in front of it and upon contact, the dark ball simply disappeared. Seeing that it was Cor, his new master, he stuttered, “I-I’m sorry.”

“It’s fine. Look, your siblings are waking up,” he pointed at the others.

Each child had different masters, based on whose blood they drank. But every child was Elena’s and Dred’s servant and none of them would be able to refuse their commands. If it was a life-threatening matter, they’d try to save Elena and Dred at first, and only then would they care about their blood masters. Even if they felt differently, their blood would make them obliged. Although Elena and Dred weren’t pent up on hierarchy and other similar things, their blood still held it up.

This tale has been pilfered from Royal Road. If found on Amazon, kindly file a report.

Sareg had shallow memories about Elena and Dred as well, but since he hasn’t seen them in person, he probably wouldn’t recognize them if not for his blood. He also learned about their original goal and how Elena changed her mind. Maybe as a simple demon, he’d have been disgusted by both, but in his current mindset, he didn’t care which of the two he had to do. He’d gladly help his masters in anything they wanted. Even if it was scary, that was the truth.

“Follow me,” Cor said, seeing Sareg standing up, along with his siblings.

Without uttering even a single word of refusal, they followed him to the kitchen. Big plates of food welcomed the four of them and after confirming things, they got to it. When they were done, they went after Cor to the yard. Cor introduced each and every child and then introduced Sareg and his siblings to the others. The other kids measured up their new peers while welcoming them.

Cor almost laughed upon seeing the kids chicken fight, as if they were about to brawl it out and find out who was the strongest. “Group up,” he waved his hand and the other kids separated into three groups.

Pointing at the first one, and then at the next group, Cor explained, “They are Magicians and Audrey’s blood servants. They are physical fighters, and the last one is your kind, Guardians.”

“The four of you joined in hope of a better life. I hope that your dreams will come true, but you have to work hard for it. The next few days or maybe year will be hard, but once you pass the gruesome training we had to, you’ll definitely become a very powerful fighter. You surely know about the legendary races and their lesser races, like the Dragon God and the other lower ranked dragons. If you go through with this training, I can assure you, you’ll be able to easily take care of a second-ranked dragon and if you work hard enough, even a first-ranked!” Cor raised his voice.

Sareg’s eyes shone along with the other kids and his siblings. Understanding Cor’s meaningful look, they all joined the group of their own classes. “You’ll work with your own team when we are done training, but you’ll still train with the others so that you’ll understand each other better. You’ll know what all of you went through!” he said.

“Yes!” the kids shouted uniformly, except for the new ones.

“Now then, Sareg, Liz, Keneg, Urnoth, you’ll have to follow the others and do the same movements,” Cor instructed them.

The kids had to lift up large rocks at first, then cast spells, then run, and finally meditate. When they were done with everything, they were about to go to eat when Audrey and Jake returned with a messy blonde haired, young little girl. She looked around coldly as if she was about to attack the other kids. After going through everything, a knowing smile formed on Sareg’s face. I guess she will be the fifth member of my team, he thought and was about to ask when Cor hit him in the stomach.

He fell to the ground and puked out the contents of his stomach. “Don’t let your guard down while training. Your opponent will use every moment to try to kill you. If your attention is weak, you die!”

“*Cough* I understand…” Sareg replied as he stood up. Looking towards the hut Audrey and Jake went, he spotted the girl drinking from a glass and Audrey looking at him with a sorry look on her face. As their eyes met, Audrey smiled at him and waved her hand. Looking at Cor from the corner of his eye, he saw him looking at his sister, Liz.

“I saw you were looking away, even if you look from the corners of your eyes,” Cor laughed in a cracky voice.

“I-I’m sorry.”

“It’s fine if you understand the point. I’m doing this for you too,” Cor smiled at him.

Seeing their caring smiles, Sareg worked hard to grow stronger than anyone! But so did the other kids.

The little girl drank Audrey’s blood and fell asleep in Audrey’s arms. She looked out the window again and saw Sareg’s hard training.

“Why the long face? They aren’t going to die because of this,” Jake laughed, seeing her sorry face.

“B-But… I just feel bad for doing this to these poor children. They also feel a bit as if they were my children,” she pouted.

“Well, technically, they are,” Jake commented.

“True, they have my blood in their veins.”

“Indeed, but their blood isn’t the same. Wait, why am I even pondering about this? Like I said, just ignore it. There is no need to be soft on them while they are training. You can spoil them if you want when they aren’t.”

“I know! Haah- let’s make food for them from the beast we caught on the way,” Audrey sighed loudly as she stood up and pulled out the corpse of the beast they felled from her storage ring.

Stopping behind her, Jake hugged her tightly and put his chin on her shoulder. “Mmm~ What is it?” Audrey mused.

“Nothing~ I’m just hugging my girlfriend,” Jake rubbed his face on Audrey’s.

“Mm- Stop it! It tickles,” she laughed and gently pushed him away. “Help me instead.”

“Okay~” he pulled out his knife and got to work.

One and half an hours later, they were done with cooking. There was one bigger house on the outer parts of the fenced area, which was theirs. While Jake set the table, Audrey called the hungry kids. They literally rushed the house and devoured every last bit of food on the table.

“Mhh! Miss Audrey’s cooking is simply great,” one of the kids raised his voice, showing a bright smile.

“Yes, yes. I absolutely agree! Thanks, Missis Audrey!” Another said.

Laughing at them, Audrey also finished her plate and then stood up from the table. “Haha, don’t call me Missis Audrey… Just Audrey, okay? Also, Jake helped cooking as well. Now I’ll go to sleep, don’t forget to rest because tomorrow will be a hard day again!” she said and then went up the stairs. The kids left the house after thanking them another time and went to sleep.

Jake went after Audrey, but instead of entering his own room, this time he went to Audrey’s room. He sat down on the side of her bed and waited silently. Hearing the sound of pouring water stop, he felt a bit excited and fearful at the same time.

As the door opened, Audrey came out with nothing but a towel tied around her wet body. She stopped in place upon seeing Jake and looked at him silently for a few seconds. Clenching her fists, she stepped forward and sat down beside Jake. She looked at him without saying anything.

Looking back, Jake whispered, “Tell me if you want me to stop.” He coiled his arms around her back and gently pushed her down on the bed. Kissing her lips, he felt his lust growing.

“C-Can I go on?” he asked, his breath shaking, his hand caressing Audrey’s body.

With a sense of excitement she hasn’t felt before, she nodded her head.

They spent the night together.
