Volume 2: Rebellion: Chapter 18.3 - The Weapons are Inspiring

“Report!” The commander shouted when a soldier rushed into the underground basement.

“The King of the Drung Kingdom appeared on the battlefield! He is leading an elite squad of young Magicians and keeps destroying our forces! At this rate, they will stop our advances in a few hours!” the soldier replied, his voice loud and clear.

“The King? How foolish of him. Go and lead a group of twenty. You are to take a C Bomb with you and plant it on their path. Don’t call back our soldiers or the King would notice. We will lose a few people, but once their King is dead, this will be an easy victory!” the commander replied and turned back towards the screens, a grin on his face.

*Knock*

*Knock*

*Knock*

Strange knocking sounds echoed in the passageway that led to the commander’s base. As the soldier and the commander turned around, they saw nothing but a pair of shining green eyes.

*Whistle*

Six tiny blades sliced through the air and penetrated six people’s foreheads. Their bodies turned into ashes and the throwing knives fell into the ground. As Elena appeared at the end of the pathway, she finished withdrawing her knives and put the last one into its scabbard on her right thigh.

“Hello~ I came to visit you,” she mused. The soldier and the commander drew their guns and pointed them at her head.

“Don’t move and raise your hands!” the commander shouted, his finger trembling on the trigger because of Elena’s bloodlust.

“You are pathetic, human,” Dred said whilst appearing behind him and slapping his gun out of his hands. The soldier turned towards Dred to fire, but Audrey did the same with him as Dred with the commander. Kicking him in the stomach, the soldier crashed into the wall beside Elena and fell unconscious.

“Where can I find your General? Your Emperor? I don’t want to waste my time with looking for him with my Sense. Please reply,” Elena crossed her arms in front of her chest and tilted her head to the side.

“Who are-”

“Shut up, just answer or I’ll torture you until you will beg to die, but I won’t take your life. How does that sound?” she interrupted him, furrowing her brows.

Seeing him staying silent, she reached towards the head of the unconscious soldier and crushed it with her bare hands. Stepping on his chest, she tore off his right arm. His blood sprayed on her legs and the floor. Breaking his torn off arm into numerous pieces, she threw it at the commander’s face, making him fall on his back from the force behind her fling.

“As you can see, I am strong enough to play around with your bones, your body. But I can do much simpler yet painful things too to you. Lighting, fire, slicing and sharp wind blades, which do you want first? Or do you want to be bitten by corpses?” she asked, showcasing her elemental Magic and then reviving the corpse of the headless soldier.

“I can catch a few of your people and make them take care of you~” she mused.

“N-No. What guarantees that you won’t kill me once I tell you where the General is? It’s better if you just kill me,” he shook his head, denying her words.

“Let’s take an oath. I swear that I won’t kill you or I shall perish from the world of the living!” she declared. A window appeared in front of her and after showing it to the commander, he felt better. But his eyes soon bulged as he realized a problem, “No, what about these two?” he tilted his head towards Dred and Audrey.

Clicking her tongue, Elena thought, you will die anyway you ignorant fool. “Swear it or he won’t talk. Clever of you… I wanted to kill you afterward but you leave me with no choice, time is pressing,” she sighed loudly and slumped her shoulders, acting as if she gave up on her toy. Now he should think that he has the upper hand. Let’s hope that he will get cocky.

“Hahaha, you idiots, you can’t kill me now, but I can!” he laughed as he drew his knife and thrust it towards Dred’s head. He felt as if he tried to thrust his knife against a stone wall since Dred’s bones were even stronger. Physical resistance meant a lot, especially against simple humans like him. His knife fell out of his hand in the next moment and Dred bit his fingers. The commander cried out in pain as he held his dangling fingers, his forefinger almost falling off.

“I can still torture you if you don’t start talking now, though I would rather not do it since I’m in a hurry,” Elena rolled her eyes and shook her head, seeing his stupidity.

“Guh… You bastards!” he screamed out in pain.

Raising her hand, a bolt of flickering lightning formed in Elena’s hand. “This won’t kill you, but it would be a bit painful. I’d make it so that it wouldn’t reach your heart or brain, but your nerves would burn down. What do you think, how would it feel?” she asked, tilting her head to the side.

“Stop! I’ll talk, I’ll talk! Kuh, my computer has everything in it,” he pointed at his computer and hung his head. Audrey walked closer and after experimenting a bit on how to use the different operating system, she got the hang of it. With the commander’s directions, she quickly found the files related to many commanders and military leaders.

Most of them overlapped with what they knew from Hector, while the rest was new to them. After storing everything on the same rod they used before, Audrey nodded her head and stepped back. “Thanks for teaching us how to use these things,” Elena said with a smile, waving her hand.

“What?!” the commander felt dread filling his heart upon seeing her smile. Dred grabbed his neck and stomped on the ground. The ceiling broke with a loud rumbling, and the sticky ground separated into two halves. Jumping up to the surface, he turned into his wyvern form and flew into the air, while the soldiers in the camp looked at the scene with confusion. After reaching a height of three hundred meters, he let go of the commander.

“Oaths never affected us,” he enlightened him. The commander saw his life flash by as the ground came closer and closer to him.

“Fuck you,” he cursed out in the last moment before his body splattered on the ground.

Jumping out of the commander’s base, Elena stopped beside him and nudged his side. “You are still in one piece, hehe. Shall I use you for something?” she chuckled as she walked towards the onlooking soldiers. The moment she moved, everyone drew their weapons and point it at her.

A huge shadow covered the sun above them as Elena pointed upwards with a smile. The soldiers couldn’t help but look up, only to see Dred’s gaping mouth and a few huge boulders falling towards the ground beside him.

“Run!” the humans shouted as they tried to get out of the way of the boulders, but many of them weren’t quick enough. Dust flew into the air along with patches of the ground as the huge rocks crashed down, leaving behind small craters and broken, torn off limbs. Dred caught many soldiers with his jaws and his sharp teeth ground them into mincemeat.

Audrey spread her arms and summoned two huge, scorching hot fireballs above her palms. Adding some Earth element to them, they turned into Magma Balls. She propelled them forward and hit many humans, burning and melting their bodies into nothing but ashes in the blink of an eye. Waving her hands, blades of wind and dark shot forward and sliced everything into two halves. Those who were touched by Dark Magic rotted in a few seconds, leaving nothing but their bones.

Shaking her head, Elena spread out her shadow and used Devour. The humans around her, in an area of five hundred meters, stopped existing. They disappeared without any traces, which looked even creepier than Audrey’s or Dred’s destructive attacks. A soldier sneaked up on Audrey but she was prepared for such moments too. Tapping her foot on the ground, a huge pushing force appeared around her for a moment, which was a mini explosion of the Eon Elements.

Since she didn’t have to wait, she tried to stop it as soon as possible, creating only a small area of destruction around her. The human disintegrated into nothingness on the spot. “Oh? It’s working perfectly, but I’d have used Wind Magic in your stead. This consumed a huge amount of Mana from our surroundings and Cosmological Constant won’t be usable after a few similar stunts,” Elena praised her but mentioned the downside of her spell too.

“Yeah, I know, but I wanted to try this. It’s usable as a small scale attack, but I won’t use it for large explosions, like destroying a mansion…” Audrey nodded her head as a shudder ran through her body.

The remaining soldiers looked at them with despaired faces and tried to run, but their attempt to escape was futile. It took only a few more seconds for Elena and co. to wipe them out.

“Let’s go to the front and clean up. We can go and look for the others afterward,” Elena said, stepping over a dead body and hopping onto Dred’s back. Agreeing with her, Audrey followed her.

The soldiers in the ditches were focusing on the soldiers of the Drung Kingdom, so they paid no heed to the shadow that was cast over them. “Don’t land, let’s just do it from here,” Elena advised before using Water Magic to fill the ditches with water. Understanding what she wanted, Audrey and Dred did the same.

“What the hell!?” the humans shouted, seeing their covers being filled up with water. Before they could react, a high-voltage lightning struck the water and shocked all of them to death. The soldiers in the other ditches saw what happened, so stupid or not, they had to leave their covers and try to retreat. The soldiers of the Drung Kingdom rained hell on them as soon as they left their covers.

Hector was pleased to see how easily they killed their enemies and he was even happier to see what Elena and her friends did. Three to four-meter tall earth walls raised in front of the feeling soldiers, cutting their escape routes.

*Pant* *Pant*

“Run for your lives!” one of the soldiers shouted, noticing a huge boulder flying towards them from the sky.

*Boom*

It crashed into the ground in front of him and rolled a few times. Cracking sounds left his comrades’ bodies as their bodies were crushed under the huge weight of the boulder. Gritting his teeth, he looked towards the sky and spotted a huge flying, dragon-like creature. He was one of the snipers so his original location was quite safe before the sudden attack happened. Raising his sniper rifle, he took aim at the monster.

“Huh? Who are those people on its back? Two girls?” he muttered, noticing Elena and Audrey. He saw the black haired girl wave her hand and a huge bolt of lightning cracked, turning his comrades into nothing but charred meat. The red haired woman did the same a second later, which struck one of his friends not far away from him and instead of entering the ground, it strangely turned into a chain lightning, killing many others.

What the fuck? I must kill them or we will all die here! He thought, feeling urgent. Thanks to the rock behind him, he was covered from the enemy fire. Aiming at the black haired girl’s head, he held his breath and pulled the trigger. His bullet flew through the air, but his shot was an unlucky one since the monster flew to another location at the same time.

Miss, damn it. The next one! He thought, but before he could fire another one, he turned to the left because he heard a strange growling sound. At first, he saw his comrade running, but a bullet penetrated the back of his head and came out on his forehead. Hearing the sound once again, he looked up, only to see his friend, who was killed by a lightning a moment ago. He opened his mouth wide and leaned forward to bite him.

“ARGH, bitch!” the sniper shouted, feeling the corpse’s teeth sinking into his shoulder, biting his muscles into two halves and tearing out a large chunk of meat. Turning on his back, he kicked his late friend in the face and loaded his rifle into his forehead. Holding his shoulder, he felt weakness and tiredness overtake his body as his veins started turning black with a visible speed.

“Damn it, what the hell is this?!” he cursed out loud. A shadow covered the sun once again, which he found strange. Looking up, he saw a rolling ball of magma fly towards him. “Shit,” was his last word before it crashed into him and took his life.

---

“Oh my, he tried to shoot you down,” Audrey said with a chuckle before controlling the corpse and throwing a magma ball at a sniper who missed his shot.

“Who cares? He isn’t the first,” Elena replied with furrowed brows and threw a fireball with a diameter of five meters towards the ground. The humans turned into a crisp upon contact, while the ground blew up. The shock wave hurled them onto the ground and the earth splinters flew through the air. The smell of burnt meat and hair filled the air in the nearby area.

From the high temperature of the flames, the ground turned into a scorching death zone, burning the soldiers’ clothes and skin. Seeing that there were only a few people left here and there, Elena jumped off of Dred’s back and landed on the ground with a loud thud. Looking around, she spotted the nearest soldier and appeared behind him with her Shadow Step. Her hand moved like a shadow and sliced through the soldier’s meat, beheading him.

She was surprised to see one of them sitting behind a cover and shooting his own comrades. Appearing beside him, she squatted down.

“Ah! Who are-” he was about to shout, but his voice died down. “Oh, you are that Mage,” he said in a low voice, continuing to fire at the others.

“Are you a traitor? No… you must be one of the blackmailed husbands!” Elena thought aloud, pointing at his face. Knowing that she threw fireballs and bolts of lightning at others with the same hand a moment ago, he couldn’t help but pull his head back a bit.

“Don’t worry, I won’t hurt you,” she added.

“Y-yes, I’m the latter. Now I can finally get back at these bastards! I thank you very much!” he said, bowing his head.

“Hmm, but what if I accidentally killed your wife or daughter too? I purged the whole capital city. If your family was there, then they too…” she didn’t continue, seeing that his eyes turned enraged.

“What?!” he shouted.

“Well, all of them were ‘used’ or tortured already and most of them were broken too. I’m sorry to say this, but I wanted you to hear the truth,” she replied, patting his shoulder.

The man didn’t know what to think after hearing her words. Are they dead? Were they killed by the soldiers or by her? But… what if they are still alive? Where are they? I must live and find them! He thought as anger started filling his mind. “How will I know how they died?” he asked, his head hung.

“Well, if you can’t find them anywhere, then they were probably in the capital city, which means that I was their killer. Will you hate me? You definitely will, but I can’t do anything about that,” she replied and then talked to herself, her hand on her chin.

Clenching his gun in his hands he replied, “I will hate you if it was you, but I… I don’t know what I’d do.”

“You are quite cool headed. I’d ask you to join my group, but it wouldn’t do if you hated me to the core, haha,” she said with a chuckle as she stood up and threw a fireball towards a soldier.

“How did you become so strong? You seem to be really young,” he asked, raising a brow, ignoring her question. A wind blade flew past his brown hair and sliced a guy into two halves. Turning around, Elena saw Audrey killing off the rest of the soldiers. Shrugging her shoulders, she turned back.

“I’m even younger than you think. You too can become this strong, you know? When you have the time, sit down and close your eyes. Shut out everything and try to sense the Mana specks all around you and try to pull them towards your body and rotate them inside your Mana Veins. If you can feel the Mana specks, you will feel your Mana Veins too. Grow and find me if you will still hate me. I’ll kill you at that time,” she said with a chuckle, adding, “This is my way of self-punishment since I don’t want to kill you.”

“Huh? This makes no sense… Have you hit your head?” he asked, furrowing his brows.

“No? Well, I’m a bit of a weirdo, I can’t deny that” she laughed as she turned around and walked towards her next victim.

The blood of her previous victim trickled down on her black blade. Looking at it, a strange feeling of wanting filled the brown haired guy’s heart. He felt so lost in those drops of blood and black blade that he forgot all about his surroundings. I’ll find my family, alive or dead. If they are dead, I’ll see what I’ll do once I find out who was their murderer.

“Hey, Miss! What’s your name?” he shouted after her, his eyes still focusing on her daggers.

Turning around, she looked at him with raised brows for a few seconds before replying, “I’m called Elena.”

“I’m Edward, call me Ed. Your weapon… inspired me!” a smile formed on his face as he said with a thoughtful face, his hand on his chin.

“Is that so?” Elena asked, but never got a reply. Shrugging her shoulders, she got to work.
