Gareth had gone nuts after the shaking had stopped. He managed to find out why, If it wasn't for Alan, then all of his research would've disappeared that he was grateful about. He'd love to thank Alan for it if he wasn't unconscious lying on his bed with IV in him recovering the amount of blood in him. He'd been worried about Ashley who felt terrible about and had to be put to sleep so that she would go off again.
With everything that happened, the commander visited him, informing him that they were to be expecting visitors. Well, really they were expecting a dozen warships to appear in the air and have military scientists drop in to supposedly help him with his research. It was utterly horrifying to hear that several countries were coming that weren't even on speaking terms.
He'd considered just retiring right there and then but Boris knew the way any scientist's heart. Which was unlimited research funds, and the vast paycheck certainly helped. Was it really worth it to put up with the Russians, Chinese, Americans, yeah it was he could just tell them shut up and do as they're told.
He still had work to do, so while his team prepared the labs for their guests. He was looking through the latest results and best quantum solution for their next set of experiments to find out how to progress. They were promising to remove twenty-six per cent of the possible genes, they just need to eliminate the other 74 per cent. A workable goal and with the help of different countries and their own quantum computer it could eliminate years off and find the results they want.
He'd moved through everything double-checking the results, and worked until he got a call informing him that Alan had awoken. He dropped everything and went to visit the young man.
Looking through the glass window, Gareth was surprised again that Alan'd also changed back into his own skin. As if he was wearing an illusion that would shift reality depending on how he felt. He never seemed to notice himself every time they asked; he'd say that he just looked like himself if slightly fitter.
Inside of talking to him through the mic, Gareth decided to speak to him face to face. Leaving the isolation observation room, he found Commander Boris standing outside the room just about to enter. Noticing Gareth, he asked, "I heard that Alan's awake, is he?"
“Yeah, I was just about to go in and talk to him. Want me to leave, I can wait until later to talk to him.”
“Gareth, it’s ok you can come with me it’s nothing you don’t already know.”
Boris opened the door and walked into the room and talked to Alan. "Hello Alan, I'm Commander Boris in charge of protecting this base, if you're well enough, is it possible we can talk?"
Gareth watched as Alan paled, which he thought was weird considering the power difference, "Hello Alan, I'm Gareth, and I hope we could talk as well."
Alan nodded producing chairs out of mid-air and floated them over to him besides his bed before he spoke, "I don't mind, but I hope you don't mind if I don't get up."
The two of them smiled, at the causal behaviour, but Gareth indicated that Boris should go first. The commander nodded his thanks and asked Alan, "That's a very casual display of power; it seems that you've gained so control, how's that going for you?"
Alan smiled a little sadly, "It's not really controlled, I'm simply directing my emotions into something useful instead of destructive. Learnt to do it when Ashley went berserk, she'd lost all emotional control. I directed it through me while I was already trying to contain her power, so I repaired the building and people. Still, there was just so much that it was tearing me apart. I hope she is ok?"
Boris looked to Gareth he nodded and replied. "She was in an induced sleep when she found out what had happened, she got more emotion, and since you weren't around the put her to sleep immediately we weren't willing to risk it. Hopefully, she will wake up, if you don't mind seeing her when she does, I think it would be most helpful."
Alan looked at Gareth, "You should realise that she's not insane, she simply trapped inside herself by her own powers."
That was news to Gareth “What do you mean?”

"She's telepathic and has lost herself inside her own mind, she can talk to those outsides, but she can't communicate well with them. We need to find a way to help her, make her own way out or she'll be trapped in her body forever. It's why she went off the other day I was talking to her, and she emotional broke through to the world and caused the damage."
Gareth paused. He wasn't a psychologist, so he had no idea if her being trapped was some sort of mental defence to her actions. If they could get her wholly back, would she be able to control herself, at least with Alan around they could contain any rogue power?
It was evident that he wasn't going to talk, so Boris spoke up. "Hey thank you for saving the building and the people in it, I've recommended that you get a medal for your bravery. But thanking you isn't the only reason I've come here. The UK government has reached a deal with several countries, and they'll be sending over their own scientist and military officers to have access to you and Ashley.
Unfortunately, we can't move you or stop them from seeing you since your name was part of the deal. Hold on before to think we've sold you out, you do have an option you can totally leave and never meet them. However, we're offering to pay you for your time, before you give me a number the news says that it was a several trillion pound deals."
Boris paused to let it sink in for a few moments before continuing. "The deal while being that they'll be allowed to study you, within reason no inhuman procedures, no making you do anything you don't want to do. We also want you to be the face of it since you're world-famous. We need to make you seem human, the good and the bad, so you'll have to do a press briefing, interviews and events to go too. You'll be given a bodyguard detail and told to avoid using your powers. Finally, we'll be asking you to meet with the supers inside the city and just simply talk to them. We want to offer them food packages and aid if they want it. Oh and we're bribing you to make sure that if anything happens like the Americans insult you that you won't blame us."
Alan really wasn't interested in being a lab subject, a superstar, nor an envoy. He fancied just sitting down and sleeping the day away reading books, watching movies and maybe getting a girlfriend somewhere in there. However, his father always told him to never decline a job offer, if you don't want the job to make an absurd offer and they'll say no thank you.
“A Billion a month.”
“Yeah ok deal!”
Alan frost for a second before adding “Wait, I want a 5% stake in the business?”
“Sure no problem,” Boris smiled broadly, while Alan was confused he didn’t want to leave the facility, so this would guarantee that he would be able to stay.
“Fine deal, but I can cancel whenever I like!”
Boris nodded, “Absolutely!”
Alan's question rose to Alan’s mind, “How much were you allowed to go to?”
Boris could help but grin like an idiot as he told Alan. "I didn't get a limit just told me to hire you. This would also mean you're being hired as a government employee which would guarantee citizenship for foreigners."
Alan eyebrows furrows and a bunch of marbles fell to the floor, scattering along the bottom, "What do you mean "citizenship for foreigners" I was born on this island!?"
Boris held up his hand. It's not for us, "It's just in case someone questions whether you count as human anymore, and that would protect you from that angle."
Alan thought about what he didn’t really get it, but if push comes to shove, he could always shove harder. "So do you want me to go see these Supers now before our army friends come?"
Boris shook his head "They should be here in a few days, so rest and continue practising control because we're all going to need it."
Alan looked at the distasteful face of Dr Gareth and asked, "What do you think of this doctor?"
He frowned he really didn't like it was his work, his project and the know-nothings were going to come in cause a whole lot of mess. He was looking for a cure they would be they'd be looking to make more of Alan to throw at each other. "The pays good, and I have infinite funding, but I don't like having other scientists come in and distract me. I'm not even researching how to make more supers. I look for a cure for the maddened."
Alan nodded “That’s good hope we can help get Ashley out.”
That reminded Gareth that he wanted to visit her and he'd decided to visit his friend Hew to talk too afterwards. So he excused himself, and with Alan thanks, he left to find himself wondering slowly towards Ashley's room. He didn't realise how much it disturbed him that Ashley was in their trapped and unable to answer his question. The experiments hadn't been that pleasant they'd, of course, had permission from Gloria but they could ask her if she was in pain and get a clear answer, so a lot had been guessed. He was hoping that she wouldn't think I'll like him.
Once he'd gotten into the lift it was now unavoidable he was going to wondered what he should say.
Getting to the isolation chamber, he saw Gloria there standing in front of her room as she usually did. He hadn't even thought of her and realised now he had to explain to her what Alan had just told him it was part of the deal and he kept to them.
"Hello, Gloria I have some news about Alan he's awake and well. He told me something exciting he believes that Ashley has a split personality."
After several attempts to tell her that he thinks that at a young age, something might have happened to trap half mind off into the corner, to protect herself and those around her, it was until Alan talked to the other side, he realises that she wasn't alone the emotions overwhelmed her barriers. With Alan's help stopped someone from being seriously hurt.
Gloria had become a puddle of tear as she cried about how her husband had been put through the third-floor window after disciplining Ashley after she misses behaved.
Gareth realised that it made at least a little bit of sense and he'd have to get a specialist for Ashley. To work through it and Alan to contain any emotional outbursts that could put her back into her shell.
Right he at least needs to tell her that he knew and saw going to do his best to help her, it was the least he could do.
Opening the chamber, he walked in and sat down beside her face staring into nothingness with a happy face. "Hey, Ashley I just came from visiting Alan, and he's doing fine, he doesn't blame you at all, and Alan sends his best, and since he told me that you're trapped in there and that we're going to do our best to help you out. So you can hug your mum and leave this horrible building to explore the world."
Gareth instantly knew that Alan was right as the hairs on his arms rose into the as did everything in the room.
Smiling, he asked her to calm down and told her that she'd be getting some help from a specialist and Alan.
The control over excitement could be seen as the furniture dropped and rose with his words.
He was overwhelmed and decided to leave the room. Moving towards his friend's office where he could talk through everything that had happened.
