Following the boys to the back of the store room, Milo was greeted with a group of huddled people, ranging from old men to crying babies. Milo's heart ached at the scene. As the boys led him further into the back, he started seeing more groups of people. It seemed like this place was an temporary shelter that housed lots of people that were caught up in this disaster.

Many looked at him with horror before meeting his eyes, that was when they calmed down. He guess this was gecuase of his monster aura. Some people here must have a monster detector of sorts and are very wary of him, it's all thanks to this skill.

Congradutaltions! Monster Aura is now level 3.

Great now it's radius is bigger, or that's what he thought. In the description it said the power of the aura is based on his level, so the skill level must effect something else, like radius. That was his deduction anyways.

Now that his skills have levelled up, he now had 3 points from levelling up Monster Aura and learning Sneak. Putting the final last point in the Pacifist Path, he got a big notification.

Putting his 5 forgotten spare points in strength, perception, resistance, wisdom and focus. Now all his stats were about even. With his last two PP, he was stuck between Among Monsters Path, or Cowardice. On one side, the Among Monsters sounded really cool but there was a risk of wasting my points. Cowardice on the other hand, sounded a bit... weak.

Eventhough it did sound weak, there was a definite ending, whereas the other one doesn't. Finally, he leaned towards the Cowardice Path, honestly who cares what path he would take? He would eventually finish the Among Monsters Path.

As well as these options, there was also a 3rd. The trainee path. It needed 15 but sounded much better than both. Putting two points into it, he received a bonus each point.

Finishing up his stat placement, Milo focused back to where Jacob was taking him. Finally, they slowed down to a group which was made up of 5 girls and 2 boys. Both the boys looked eccentric about something while most of the girls seemed depressed and tired.

As Milo was brought to them, he spotted two people he recognised, Anna and Liam. Anna was dressed in a green skirt with a grey shirt, with a plain coat over herself. Liam on the other hand wore very causal clothing, jogging pants and a white singlet. Although both dressed very differently, they were actually together.

They were the Highschool sweet hearts, that pair who always argued yet stayed together. Their presence in the store brought him back to those days, those day where he didn't have her in his life. When it was simple...

"Milo? Is that really you? Oh my goodness it really is, what are you wearing!?" Chuckling at Anna's loud remark, Milo responded.

"Hey Anna. How's the kids?"

Anna stood up from the group and punched Milo hard. Maybe because of her new stats or becuase she was holding back before, but her punch hurt a lot.

Wincing and holding his stomach, Milo paled at the sight of her furious yet blushing face. She looked back at Liam who awkwardly waved back, which Milo responded in kind

"Don't joke about that!"

"Ok ok ok. So how are you guys? Have you heard from others?"

"We're good, luckily I was with Liam at the time. And no, we haven't heard from others. There's no signal or internet at all... Also, how are you holding up?"

Her deep brown eyes looked up at him, watching the slightest movement on his face. Sighing deeply, he could only stare back with his eyes. She recognised the look, opening her arms, she gestured for him to hug her. Looking at the warmth in her eyes, Milo wondered whether or not he was older than her or not. He didn't act like it that was for sure.

Embacing her and smelling her hair at the same time, it reminded him of lilac. The sweet taste that flowed around her, it was quite intoxicating.

"You know, you should stop smelling my hair. My boyfriend is going to think I'm cheating on him"

"What do you think about my hair then?" Her face blanked for a second before getting what he meant.

"You know that's a habit of mine!"

"Then it's a habit of mine too I guess"

"That's not how it- AAGGHHH Your impossible!"

"Sure sure, now scurry along to your boyfriend and complain to him"

"Your just- That's not what- Just because-"

"English please"

"Fuck off!"

Falling to the floor, Milo relished in his small win against Anna. Seeing her walk off to Liam, she turned back and stuck her tongue back at him, Milo responded in kind. Their small antic was seen by the group and the atmosphere gradually eased but everyone was still nervous.

The world was still dangerous outside, and at any moment, it could come barging in. As they all waited for anything to happen, Milo tried training his skills. He now tried Body Morph one more time, this time he tried to keep changing the form of his arm. From a blade, to a hook, to a monster arm, and then to a stick. It was a nice exercise which gained a level in his skill.

Now that he had 4 points for his paths, he continued the Trainee Path placing 4 straight on it, but Milo stopped putting points once there was 5 on in. That was becuase of a new notification.
