After stepping through the portal Drew looked around and found himself in an empty hallway and after he turned around he noticed the portal that he came through was empty. Taking a moment to think it through he picked a direction and started walking, after a moment he exited the hall into a larger reception area that while not exactly packed but had a large amount of people, spotting a line that had people waiting to speak with one of the receptionists. Within a few minutes he got bored so he started looking at people using path sight to see if he could find anyone with an interesting path, after a few dozen path of the mages, teachers, and cultivators someone new got in line behind him with the path of the master, curious because she had the only path that was mostly unique among the hall he decided to chat with her.
"Hey how are you doing?"
The girl in question looked up made eye contact and stared at Drew for a moment before responding.
"Sufficiently comfortable, why are you asking?"
"No particular reason, I was just starting to get bored waiting for this line to move, speaking of which do you know what this line is for? I was just told to speak with someone in a uniform, but the only ones I see are behind the desks."
"This is the registration line, how did you get in without figuring out what the line was for? They had someone outside explaining the process."
"Ah well you see I came in by means that I imagine are uncommon or at least abnormal, i was transported via portal in that hallway over there." Drew said while pointing at the hall he came from.
"I guess that means you come from affluence." The girl said to herself more than Drew. "Ahem, greetings I am Katherine Cateraun to whom I am addressing?" The girl said with a slight curtsie.

"Uhh the names Drew Wilson, pleasure meeting you?" He replied
"You seem confused are you not nobility, or at least of high standing?"
"Not that I know of, the person who sent me said he was calling in a few favors to get me enrolled and he didn't exactly explain much."
"Your master must have called in quite the favor to get you enrolled at the top academy in the Silgh kindgdom's capitol city."
"This is one of the top schools? I kind of thought that people would have more impressive paths if that were the case." Drew thought out loud.
"How would you know? You have only spoke with me and I haven't told you my path."
"Ah I forgot I wasn't supposed to talk about that." After a moment he shrugged. "My paths first ability let's me see other people's paths. Most people here have some variation on the same 4 or 5 paths. Part if the reason I talked to you is that path of the master is unique as far as this room goes at least."
"While that is certainly an interesting ability I'm not sure why you have to keep it a secret."
"I assume it's to watch out for people with nefarious paths that wouldn't take kindly to getting exposed."
"That makes sense I suppose. Out of curiosity what kind of path grants that ability."
"I walk the path of Paths." Drew said kind of smugly.
"That path sounds like nonsense, what is the end goal what are you striving for, and what kind of power would you even be able to gain from it."
"Not quite sure to be honest, I only started yesterday so the specifics aren't clear."
Katherine looked slightly dumbfounded then asked. "If you only started your path yesterday why are you here?"
"Like I said I was sent here, I'm not sure exactly what for, to learn I imagine."
And she was about to continue Drew remembered they were in a line as the last person between him and the receptionists left leaving him next, he turned back and waved Katherine good bye and he walked up. "Sorry we'll have to finish this later, good luck."
And with that Drew spoke to the receptionist.
"Hello my Master dropped me here witb this." He handed her the envelope. "And this bag and told me to give that letter to someone in a uniform, not sure what exactly it says mind you."
The receptionist opened the envelope skimmed it and then spoke. "Give me a moment young man I need talk with my boss." With that she got up and walked over to a door on the wall called through, waited a moment then entered.
