What seperates fantasy from reality is circuimstances. Only in your fantasies are they ever in your favour, but Erin would soon come to know that fantasy wasnt that far from reach after all.
Erin Summerville was a 19 year old orphan and grandson to the CEO of Summerville Ent.
His life started on maximum difficulty because his mother died during childbirth and he was born with birth complications that consisted of limbs inability and deformed spine .
His family were extremely rich but even though his father was still alive, he didnt love him in the slightest, he saw him as the reason his mother died.
He hated him so much that he once tried faking paternity test in attempt to make it as if he wasnt his son just so Erin could get kicked out of the family, and even though everyone knew it to be bullshit they still bought it and kicked him out .
His grandfather Simon still showed him mercy, due to his disability they didnt send him on a nursing home but gave him a villa with a butler and a maid where they would pretend to take care of him .
At first they listened to Erin and at least make the effort, however they soon realised that he had been abandoned and knew nobody would even listen to his complaints, so they simply claimed the villa as their own and even got married. The bastards were so sick that they would even perform intercourse in front of him , in short, his life sucked so much it could literally not get any worse. At least so he thought....
On his 19th birthday something that would change the world forever happened, a giant purple bird appeared on the sky and breathed purple fire all around the globe.
All buildings , guns , weapons, technology and every form of human advancement siezed to exist.
Even though the people remained, earth itself on a geographical scale had returned to its 'deffault settings ' , only mountain and fields, plains and rivers remained, the Summerville business empire took massive hits and the world once again returned to the survival of the fittest.
His grandfather Simon just like many other elite families took immediate action, they spread and searched all their relatives and gathered them all in one place, Erin included.
Everyone was gathered in front of grandfather Simon who strangely enough was holding a purple sphere in his hands, he placed it on the fresh grass below, sat in a rock and sad the following :
" The world is changing and we dont know what we will be facing, it is for this reason that we gathered you all. FAMILY COMES ALWAYS FIRST "
It looked like whatever changes took place had changed him as well, he looked younger and was full of valor, his astounding voice could be heard by all the people there that Erin guessed to numer up to 3000.
" This is called the awakening sphere, they were dropped by the gigantic bird like creature all over the world and I managed to get ahold of one with much difficulty, all elite families around the world got one as well. From what we understand, it stimulates human genes and potential, if you are chosen by it you can become either a lord or an awakened "
Everyone felt weird and many fired a lot of questions, but his grandfather simply raised his hand and they all shushed .
" Its better if the sphere explains it to you "
he tapped the purple sphere twice and purple light radiated from it and sent information in all of their brains, everyone was filled with shock from the information passed to them .

The world had experienced greater changes that they had previously thought, aboriginal tribes of humans and all sorts of monstruous creatures were now part of it. Some had enhanced abilities while others even had magic like skills, the earth itself was infused by unknown energies that corroded the environment and everything surrounding it .
Erin soon came to know what a lord and an awakened was, a lord was given some form of out of this world technology that could spawn buildings out of nothing and develop villages that would become the centre of this new bizarre world.
While an awakened, was similar to a player in videogames, they would gain abilities that would grow with fighting and battle experiences .
Simon explained to them that he had already awakened and if they had potential inside them they would too, it sounded so hard to believe that even Erin who had nothing but dreams his whole life felt sceptical .
He told them all to form a line and one by one they would go touch the purple sphere so that they would try to awaken .
Drunk with the thought of power everyone rushed into forming a line, Erin as well moved the wheels of his wheelchair as fast as he could but they all pushed him away, so unfortunately he was left last in line and hopeless.
" I feel so angry, so hopeless, so tired "
he hadnt eaten for a while now since his maid and butler abandoned him after the world changed, nobody even thought of feeding him .
The 3000 people in line would take a long time before their turn came, so he surrendered to sleep heplessly......
When he came back to his senses he found out he was moving, someone was pushing him from behind.
" You.... who are you? where are you taking me ?"
the person behind him remained silent, all he could hear was his shortage of breath. He guessed he had been traveling for a while since the person was that much tired.
He tried asking questions but all of them were ignored, for 20 min straight Erin tried to turn his head around to see his face but he couldnt.
The only reason why he guessed him to be a ' he ' was because no female he had met had the strength to push his wheelchair uphill for such a long time.
" Where are you taking me ? "
As he was nearing a river, Erin got more and more scared of what was happening.
" Trash like you shouldnt be given a chance to awaken, you would just waste the purple sphere's energy for nothing. A cripple like you is a waste in this new world, you should just die "
" David is that you ? Why are you doing this to me I did nothing wrong "
David was his father but he never let him use the term dad, he always told him that he wasnt his dad.
His genes couldnt possibly give birth to such a waste.
" Please let me go "
" Careful of what you wish "
After reaching the top of the hill he immeditely let go of the wheelchair, in less than 3 minutes it was nearing the river downhill in full speed.
The good news was that the river would make for a good landing however the bad news was that he was disabled and could not swim .
That short lived hope that he might awaken had turned into dissapointment , the feelings of betrayal filled him, he nevet expected his own father to go as far as killing him...
" Maybe its for the best, hope my destination after death will be better "
He was scared of dying even though his life was shit, but he wasnt that fond of living either.
As he was about to fall to the river, he closed his eyes that were trembling from fear and held his breath.
