Eslet, Middle-left Slums district
Kyle eagerly watched as his abomination faceplanted into the middle of the adventurer platoon, how it momentarily lashed out with it’s hands killing so many then switching to phase two of it’s pre-defined commands. Golems were an interesting school of magic, as long as the amount of mana used to power the golem was at par with the core used the golem would work almost 80% of the time.
On Kyle’s second crawl of the undead dungeon he had come over the wyvern core he lost after blowing himself up the first time, he immediately stashed it without a second thought. That same core was currently bound inside the mass of slime that resembled an abyssal demon, Kyle had asked Darkness through the VCD on the simplest demon he could make with the colour palette of slime at his disposal.
While making the demon he also added some illusionary slime so most who inspected it would see it as a level 100 [Abyssal Demon], he had found out that anybody with more maximum mana than the caster of an illusion could see right through it. Although that would have been a problem at first Kyle had given the golem specific commands to crush the mages first at any cost, and so it literally did.
As he watched the demon destroy the remaining adventurers he checked his notifications, something he hadn’t done in a while.

(“Enough requirements? What happened with the progress updates?”) Kyle was fairly confused for a brief moment (“Now that I think about it why haven’t I gotten any class progress updates at all? Is it because I already have a class?”). Eventually he shrugged it off, he’d ask one of the others who already had a sub-class later. Briefly ignoring the notifications made them disappear giving him yet again a clear view of the massacre happening ahead.
Sadly he received no level experience for what his golem killed but it did seem to give experience directly into his [Golemancy] skill.
The skill [Golemancy] has reached mid-tier 1 level 5!

If the notification that followed was of any indication. Kyle sat back where he stood, he was watching the murdering spree below from his perch at the top of a church. The church was of simple design, deteriorated white walls in a rectangular shape with two towers growing out of each front corner. The roof was triangular while a simple wooden sun carving lay hanging on the front, the object of worship for the church of light and day.
Kyle was at the very top of the left tower, the large iron bell lay hanging behind him. If one where to look up at the bell tower all they would see is a gargoyle, unbeknownst to Kyle that sight would cause even more of a panic. Gargoyles were actually draconic in nature, something the common folk never once would see in their life and hoped they never will.
He opened his skill book while paying close attention to the second bar of health misplaced beneath his, it indicated his golem’s health bar.
[Health: 980/1140]
The adventurers where still running in a panic and it would take the military a while to come back, Woody had in fact blown up a large chunk of the royal district. Kyle guessed his golem would last a while until Birse called for them to regroup.
Title [Golem Builder]: Crafter of the animate, binder of souls and collector of cores.
Golem mana requirement: - 5%
He saw the potential of this title, how it could help Golemancers of all levels. Compared to his hero title though? I did not compare at all.
[Golemancy] ((EXP 43%) Level 6 – Tier 1): Utilizing your superior knowledge of biology, physics and monster anatomy craft your very own. Using a core bound soul alongside the correct elements and materials build your abomination.
Amount of mana used must coincide with the core’s.
Mass of golem must coincide with the original owner of the core.
Elemental affiliation must coincide with caster.
Warning: Materials used cannot be recycled be it a successful golem or not.
Golem capacity: 2
Golem lifetime: Depending on materials used and their own lifeline.
Kyle had almost lost himself in a fit of laughter when he read the first sentence of the skill’s description, indeed he had ‘superior’ knowledge of biology, physics and monster anatomy written all over his ICT major. With the use of his [Ooze] skill he did not require much knowledge of either, he figured there would be many exceptions of creatures he simply couldn’t copy but this downside was utterly overshadowed by the upsides.
Golemancers spent most of their time collecting the resources needed to build their golems which had a high chance of failing, golems also had a month at most of lifetime. Kyle didn’t have either of these problems, he had the materials to create golems right with him at all times as long as he had mana and slime did not seem to deteriorate what so ever. He almost began drooling when he thought of what he could do with a dragon’s core.
One other thing that did not entirely affect him was the elemental affiliation, normally a golemancer required adept use of an element to add it to their golem. Most golemancers went for earth or water magic to make their golems more resistant but both came with their own downsides. Water golems couldn’t hide their core making them an easy one hit kill while earth golems were slow and sluggish.
Kyle did not have these problems per say, the materials he used had to be elementally affiliated with him or else he simply did not have access to them at all. He guessed if he wanted to make a fire golem all he needed to do was find a fire based monster to use [Devour] or [Absorb] on so his [Ooze] would gain the element.
This was also the reason he had straight up ignored [Ooze]’s attribute upgrade, he wanted to see what other elements offered before completely maining the two he currently had. Kyle closed his skill book when he noticed something approaching his position with [Draconic Perception], he squinted his eyes to get a closer look with the skill.
Was it a griffin? A wyvern? It was a rock…a very large rock…flying straight at his golem.
If he wasn’t baffled by the sudden appearance of a giant boulder being thrown at his golem then what hitched a ride on said rock did. Hanging on tightly to the rock was Karnage, her dual swords digging deep into the stone as it rolled and flew. If that wasn’t insane enough, Kyle felt his heart flutter when he noticed her expression.
Karnage wore a wide grin as she leaped off the boulder, moments before it crashed into the Abyssal demon. The boulder tore right through the golem’s scale carapace and burst it apart like an egg being shot by a gun, pieces of carapace, slime and tentacles flew all over the place as several large chunks of it’s body fell to the ground. The golem didn’t technically die as it’s core remained intact but it’s body was so severely damaged that the slime would take too long to reconnect without Kyle’s full concentration.
Kyle at the moment was too busy looking for where Karnage landed, having lost her the moment she leaped off the rock. (“She’s insane.”) he thought while glancing around the road beneath him, (“Anndd she found me!”) he then thought as she appeared mere feet in front of him grinning like a maniac.

Her swords flashed forward threatening to behead the gargoyle she saw sitting still above the bell tower, whether her intuition was wrong or not…how much could a stone statue cost anyway? That same intuition that the gargoyle was out of place proved to be correct as the statue’s appearance fluctuated into a blur and disappeared. Karnage grabbed hold of the tower’s edge before falling, as she stood hanging by it’s side she located the blur as it changed mid-air.
The Devil revealed itself, light blue skin, short white hair, glowing blue eyes and two white crooked horns. He wore pitch black light cloth clothing indicating their caster class alongside a black cloak and hood that hid most of their facial features. No staff, wand or other caster equipment was visible on their person assuring Karnage it wasn’t a healer or summoner class.
Karnage let go of the tower and slid down it’s side, the moment her feet hit the slanted roof she spun around and dashed forward. Her speed was unparalleled as she leaped up towards the still falling Devil, mere meters from the cobblestone road. Her doubled edged swords flashed forward at the unarmed opponent, a down-slash with her left while she spun followed by another down-slash with her right.
The Devil seemed to disappear again before her first slash landed, Karnage looked down to notice him standing up from the ground and backing away. (“Teleport?”) was her first thought as she also hit the ground before immediately dashing forward, she reopened with a wide lunge at his chest with her right sword as the Devil evaded in the same direction.
With her lowered stance she had put him in the perfect position, to her right and out of balance from evading. Karnage slashed at his waist with her already lunging sword forcing him to step further back and putting him more out of balance. As she slashed she lightly let go of the hilt letting it spin back around her wrist before she immediately grabbed it in a back-hand grip.
“Whirlwind!” Karnage dashed forward with a spin, her swords turning into a whirlwind of blades as she closed in on the Devil within mere moments. She felt nothing under her sword’s attacks before stopping the spin, the Devil having ‘disappeared’ again. At first she glanced behind herself but after not seeing him there she looked ahead, there the Devil stood watching for her next move.
(“Not a teleport”) she noted seeing as the Devil went for backing away instead of appearing behind her. She inspected him during this faceoff.
{Devil} Azura (Flame Keeper) (Demon Master) [Level 193]
The Devil chuckled coldly “It seems I may have underestimated you adventurers a bit, to be discovered so soon…Brothers will pester me to no end!” he opened his arms into a wide shrug, he was leaving himself completely open.
Karnage grimaced in annoyance at being looked down upon “Don’t worry honey, won’t be enough of you left to pester once I’m done! Death’s dance!” a dark grey aura flowed out from her body surrounding it and her swords. She dashed forward again and into his non-existing stance, starting with arms crossed back she slashed forwards.
Azura grinned as he leaped back along with Karnage’s momentum and brought down his hands together, palms and fingers looking as if holding onto a grip. Suddenly a bright white single-edged curved blade of fire burst from his hands ready to parry Karnage’s double slash, she pushed forth anyway planning to parry with one sword and stab with the other.
Azura’s blade seemed to cut right through both her swords as it slashed down into Karnage’s chest, unable to stop her forward momentum she crashed into Azura as his sword stopped horizontally. Azura stood his ground even as her blades cut into his clothing and skin, his sword stabbed deep into her chest and out of her back.
Karnage stared down at the blade of white fire in disbelief, her swords where untouched yet it had gone right through. She immediately pulled back from the Devil as she felt the fire devouring her body from the inside but Azura didn’t let her off that easily. The Devil lunged forward as he spun his sword upside-down and slashed upwards, the blade cut right through her left arm before he spun it back.
Karnage in a panic instinctively tried to parry the second slash as it descended on her shoulder only to grimace in pain as the blade yet again went right through and into her flesh. She fell back onto the cobblestone, her wounds burning from the attacks. She glanced down at her body but saw nothing, no blood or actual wound to be seen. Not even her armour or cloths were torn but her body was definitely in pain.
Her vision was slightly blurred but she could see the outline of Azura standing above her with his sword ready to stab down into her chest. Karnage rolled to her side and kicked at his legs tripping the Devil over, she fought through the pain and stood up before retreating a couple steps back leaving behind her off-hand which she dropped due to the agony. She wiped her eyes from the tears as she endured the pain but before she could continue on and attack with her one remaining sword Karnage noticed that Azura had also back off a couple meters.
Azura stood on the other side of the cobblestone road with a flaming white, curved single edged blade in one hand and Karnage’s double edged sword in the other. “Lost something?” The Devil mocked while waving her sword around.
“Yes actually I’ve lost my damn patience, cause fuck you and your unfair sword!” she replied while quickly opening her inventory and taking out a spare sword.
Azura seemed taken aback by her response, “Huh” was all he could respond with.
(“If I can’t parry his attack then I’ll just not give him time to attack!”) “Wind’s dance!” The grey aura surrounding her dissipated before being replaced by a bright green one, the whistling sound of wind emanated from it. Wind flowed around her feet as she leaped forward, every step she made was further enhanced by a pulse of wind from beneath almost allowing her to fly.
Within moments Karnage was upon the Devil and rapidly encircling him, every now and then she’d leap within range, slash and back off.
Azura was quickly being overwhelmed by her speed, cuts began to pile up all over his body. But he wasn’t annoyed or angered at this development, it actually seemed like he was enjoying fight. Azura watched Karnage’s movements closely, waiting for when she’d go in for the kill.

Karnage kept dancing around the Devil, leaving deep cuts every time she moved in to attack and letting him bleed out. Thick liquid did flow out of the Devil but it looked nothing like blood, for one thing it was blue and not red!
Azura suddenly discarded the sword and released his blade of fire briefly leaving him unarmed, Karnage moved in for further harassment on the Devil. “BRIGHT INFERNAL FLAME- ENGULF MY ENEMIES!” Azura shouted out his incantation with a mana infused voice just as Karnage slashed at his left arm from behind, she immediately backed off.
As Azura fell to his knees a bright blue-white flame burst out from his body and engulfed the whole street, houses shattered from the blast as their remains were left aflame.
Karnage had closed her eyes when the flames suddenly engulfed her, the following wave of force had thrown her body back and into a wooden wall. The wood shattered beneath the force sending her crashing through debris, the next moment she opened her eyes she was lying in a pile of it inside the burning house.
Azura stepped through the large hole she made in the wooden wall and around the falling debris, a sword gripped in his right hand.
Karnage tried to stand but her body left broken in too many places to count, she was an agility build after all. She grimaced as the Devil approached “I’ll be back, no matter how many times you’ll kill me I’ll be back to hunt you down!“ she declared angrily. Her’s having been one of the first platoons to enter the slums she had seen first-hand how many injured had been left behind, how many homes had been destroyed in their wake.
Azura briefly gazed down at her before smirking “You’re different from what I expected, fine then. Come after me, hunt me down just like you promised. I’ll be waiting, I’ll even hold onto this sword of yours while I do!” he exclaimed with a chuckle before stabbing that same sword down into her chest.
----------------------------------------
Kyle sighed as he pulled out the sword from Karnage’s dissipating corpse “Think I over did it?” he mused before shrugging “Meh, I’ve wasted enough time here. Damn golem is dead too, someone found the core inside or tore it to shreds”. He briefly groaned in annoyance, his plan was to lure the adventurers into the Noble’s district by using the golem.
He stashed the sword into his inventory without a second thought and began walking out of the collapsing house, he stopped outside just as the whole building came down behind him. “I wonder how the others are doing.”

Eslet, Middle Merchant’s district
“FUCK! FUCK ! FUCCKKK!” Shouted Dherik as he ran for his life through the merchant’s district, stores of all kinds lined the cobblestone road as he ran through. He cursed his short Dwarven legs as he ran, his black full plate armour glowed menacingly red as he held his spear with both hands having lost his shield somewhere on the way.
Why was he was running?
“MUAHAHAHAHA!!” A pyromaniac of a Devil was chasing after him that’s why.
Dherik dared to glance back at the flying Devil chasing after him as constant waves of black flames poured out of his hands.
{Devil} Peryite (Pyromaniac) (Blaze from above) [Level 223]
The Devil was actually Death, the person not the literal thing or the interpretation of it. Well at least for anyone but those that came in his path. Using Steph’s Alchemist sub-class she had crystalized Kyle’s [Illusionary] slime using her [Spell crystal] spell, she could store spells inside a crystal for later or constant use depending on the effect. This however drained twice the mana and put said spell into a long cooldown, which hadn’t been a problem since Kyle simply created all the slime beforehand and in one go.
With crimson red skin and flame-like hair the Devil looked like he was flying when in actuality Death was using his martial artist passive [Wind Walk] to propel himself with every step.
Death laughed as he chased around the Kaledd guildmaster, he was buying time until Birse began co-ordinating the troops. Nobody ever told him he couldn’t have some fun in the meantime, although something did bug him somewhat about the plan.
(“Fucking hell Birse…why these names…just why…”) He was thinking about the names Birse had given Kyle to imbue into his illusion spell.

Eslet, South Military district
All over the city of Esfelt chaos began to spread through the platoons of adventurers and undermanned military, having sent most of their troops to Helix to defend the border. Birse on the other hand sat comfortably within the royal military’s strategic meeting room, stone brick walls and spruce wood flooring. Taking over most of the room was a large table with scattered maps and chess pieces, currently above them all was a map of the city.
Multiple others were standing around the table, mainly military officers who had taken up command after the loss of their generals. Draxxer now stood at the helm of them ushering orders and placing their units as Birse had instructed beforehand.
“There have been seven Devil encounters around the city.” Explained a soldier too young in his post of officer, he placed seven chess pieces indicating where the skirmishes had taken place.
Draxxer studied the map, white pieces indicated their forces while black ones indicated the Devil’s last known locations. “There’s too many of them, have any been ones we’ve encountered before?” Draxxer asked the eldest officer in the room.
The grizzled soldier solemnly shook his head “None sir, they are all new enemies.” He replied disdainfully as he glared down at the map.
“Then we can be sure the enemy has gained reinforcements…” whispered one officer.
“We’re outmatched and scattered...” said another.
“But not outnumbered” Birse suddenly stated as he stood up “The Devils may have used their superior illusion magic to infiltrate the city but that came at the cost of leaving their numbers behind. They aren’t all powerful, we’ll simply throw all the numbers we have at them until they tire out. Then send them to their deaths.” He explained while gesturing at the remaining adventurer platoons.
“They do get to come back to life…” someone whispered.
“Yeah what do they have to lose?” replied another.
Draxxer continued to stare at the map waiting for his cue, he wasn’t an actor so he decided to say as little as possible.
Birse who stood across from him gestured at the whole map “General Draxxer, allow my guild full use of your scouts and messengers. I shall co-ordinate the other guilds into surrounding the Devils, we’ll wear them out with our constant harassment and then destroy them all in one fell swoop.”
“We’ve managed to keep the Devils away from the civilian bunkers and escape ships, sir I believe we should give this a try!” declared the grizzled officer.
“I agree, the devastation of buildings cannot be kept at any sort of minimal. Not with these monsters inside the city, we must act no matter how many homes are lost before we lose everything entirely.” The young officer added.
Draxxer sighed “Brigadier Hecks, show guildmaster Birse to the communications centre.” Everything was going too smoothly for his taste.

Eslet, Merchant-Housing district.
Between each district a wall thicker than the rest divided them, these walls had tunnels three times as wide as the normal walls. The entrance to these tunnels was a large set of double doors to the outer side of the wall’s gate, the tunnels were especially made for emergency scenarios to allow a civilian evacuations. The tunnels took to the closest civilian harbour where escape ships where always ready, along the way through the tunnels one could notice several dozen metallic doors blocking the path.
Currently those doors where wide open as soldiers and adventurers alike ushered civilians through, at certain intersections rooms where dug out to work as emergency hospitals for the severely injured. Empress Caitlyn and the Hero of darkness and night Rin were giving aid to the healers at one of these rooms, the healers being pressed on manpower even with the healer adventurers helping.
“Bring me more water!” Exclaimed Caitlyn at a nearby adventurer as she helped a healer with taking out wooden debris that had impaled a man’s leg.
The man’s muffled screams could barely be heard due to everyone else’s, he bit down on the cloth given to him as they slowly pulled out the spear-like piece of wood.
Caitlyn had volunteered to come here and further aided by Darkness’s comment on ‘The people should see their Empress in time of need’ had convinced Birse. All he needed them for was to be paraded anyway, this suited his plan well enough.
A mage came by them and began flowing water magic into the wound making the man scream continuously from the pain, Caitlyn and the white cloaked healer pulled out the wooden spike leaving the mage to clear the wound of any splinters. The man fainted moments later.
Caitlyn wiped her forehead from the sweat (“Why…why all this pain…why do they have to go through all this…just because…just because…”)
Darkness appeared behind her noticing the Empress’s distant gaze “Worry not your majesty, everything will be fine.” She assured her calmly albeit her thoughts speaking the contrary (“This is what happens when you make a deal with their like, true they may not all be physically but at heart they might as well be demons.”)
----------------------------------------
It had taken two hours for Birse to convince the military to give his guild command of the city’s defence, although all he had really done was wait and watch as they sent numbers around trying to surround the ‘Devils’. With the use of the military’s messengers utilizing the same magic Draxxer’s special unit was using, Birse moved around both the adventurer platoons and soldier squads.
The ‘Devils’ were met with constant harassment by adventurer platoons as they slowly backed off further into the city, at one point an eight Devil was located. This Devil was Cherry given a crystal by Steph to switch out with her as she joined the adventurers in the ‘hunt’.
The Serenity members switched around multiple times as to have constant Devil influence over the city while also gaining each member an alibi, they tried their best to keep the Devil numbers to seven but in the end they decided to just let it be eight since switching out a large person like Cherry with a woman like Steph didn’t go unnoticed. Kyle’s illusion couldn’t change the actual size of a person unfortunately.
Within an hour the ‘Devils’ from the slums were pushed back into the Noble’s district. Within another two while those were being chased around the others within the merchant’s and housing districts were also pushed back into a corner.

Eslet, South-East Noble’s district
Kyle ran as fast as his running and [Surge] could take him as Karnage’s and two other platoons chased after him. Night time was approaching as the two suns started to disappear into the horizon, the large moon of Chaoz already visible on the opposite side of the sky.
Massive fields of grass and smooth stone road had opened up ahead of him when he entered the district, he already had two platoons chasing after him but a third quickly joined them when he passed the gate.
Kyle breathed heavily from near exhaustion (“TWO! I SAID I COULD OUTRUN TWO! DAMMIT BIRSE!”), he cursed in his head as he ran. He was nearing his limit as his stamina reached particularly dangerous levels, he doubted he could make it to the royal district before the platoons caught up to him.
Having died recently two of the platoons were at top shape while the third lagged slightly behind. They threw barrages of magic and projectiles at him trying to slow him down but with [Draconic Perception] Kyle managed to dodge and evade them.
(“I need to lose them!”) Kyle decided after glancing at his stamina, he looked around at the two mansions on either side of him. He had been running in a slight curve trying to catch up with Woody and dump some of his platoons on him but it seemed he underestimated how large the Noble’s district was.
(“No choice then!”) he made up his mind and swerved towards the closest mansion, he just ran now reserving his last surge before his stamina ran out. Kyle glanced back at the closest dozen adventurers, twenty or so meters behind him these were the agility classes with the most movement speed under their belts.
“STOP RUNNING BLUE-FACED BITCH!” Shouted Karnage as she chased after him, she was one of the closest adventurers to Kyle’s position.
(“Ohh she’s pissed!”) Kyle inwardly chuckled as he approached the mansion, one large rectangular building with two smaller wings growing out of the front. Marble white walls, triangular red paved roof and gold trimmed windows, the mansion looked even more wealthy than the ones he’d seen so far.
Kyle surged through one of the windows easily breaking through the glass as he spun around and summoned forth a [Slime cannon], he fired twice at the window before quickly raising his left hand to his chest and growing out claws. He clawed his chest three times over and released the illusion before leaning down in front of an overturned table and returning his claws to normal, he then smashed his own head back into the wooden table’s underside.
His vision blurred as stamina exhaustion and what he understood to be a minor concussion took effect. He groaned in pain (“Fuck that hurts more than I-”)
“Kyll?!” Karnage exclaimed in surprise after leaping through the already broken window, other adventurers leaped in behind her with weapons in hand.
“It kept on running ahead, got me good…” he stated while trying to stand up.
Karnage glanced back at the others “Continue chasing!” she told them before rushing over to help Kyle stand, the others ran through the room’s open door and moved to search the mansion. “You alright? What are you doing here?” Karnage immediately began to barrage him with questions as she lent him her shoulder.
(“Fuck, why am I here?”) Kyle thought as he rubbed the back of his head “Uhh…was told to cut them off so we went ahead of each one…Didn’t turn out as planned…” he managed a weak smile.
Karnage helped him over to a chair “Sit down, you look like you’ve been clawed by a lion.”
Kyle had no say in the matter as his body simply slumped down into the chair, he blamed stamina exhaustion although his mind told him he’s just that lazy. “Yeah…thanks.” He said while leaning forward on the chair holding his head “Why is wood so damn hard…”
“What?!” Karnage suddenly stepped back with a confused and blushing expression.
Kyle glanced up at her also confused “Table? Hit my head?” he pointed out.
“Oh…I-I should go, there’s still a Devil in this build!” She exclaimed before rushing away.
Kyle groaned as he continued to rub the growing bump on his head “Smooth Kyle, really smooth…”, he took controlled breaths while waiting for his stamina to regenerate. (“Three platoons…five minutes?”) Kyle guessed how long it would take them to figure out there was no longer a Devil, not taking into account any basement the mansion might have.
(“Next problem…how do Azura AND Kyle leave this mansion while both being seen leaving?...”) He gazed around the room thoughtfully while trying to quickly come up with a plan. His gaze suddenly fell upon the broken window and a thought came to mind (“Who ever said I was Kyle?”), he stood up and walked over to the window.
Kyle saw several adventurers surrounding the mansion, they had already set up a half-assed perimeter which would slow down the search somewhat but also made it impossible to leave unseen.
Kyle waited for another minute as his stamina reached a favourable amount.
Stamina: [430/710]
He then dispelled his slime cannon and leaped back out of the window, casually he began walking away from the mansion.
----------------------------------------
Karnage ran around the mansion dead set on finding the target of her anger, not only had this Devil caused pain to innocents and burned down their homes. It had outright cheated in their fight and then insulted her. She wasn’t going to let it go anytime soon.
As she ran through the mansion’s corridors checking any room that wasn’t already being checked she suddenly stopped by a window and looked outside. “Kyll?” She watched as Kyle casually walked over to one of the adventurers stationed to watch outside, as ordered the adventurer called out to Kyle but he just kept approaching.
Before their eyes Kyle’s form blurred and changed back into Azura, the Devil summoned his white sword of fire and cut down the adventurer before dashing away at full speed.
Karnage’s gaze slowly lowered as she clenched her swords, she had been utterly deceived. “Thunder’s dance” her swords flashed forward at the wall as the sound of thunder echoed out from her attack, the wall in front of her was smashed open by the attack’s sheer force.
“Wind’s dance” A thin green aura engulfed her body as the whistling of wind escaped it, she charged forward with abandon as the wind propelled her every step. “I’M GOING TO SLICE YOU OPEN!” Karnage declared with a mana infused voice as she began to chase the Devil with new vigour.
The other adventurers quickly fell behind her after spotting Azura quickly running away into the distance, an incarnation of death chased closely behind him.
Karnage chased after Azura for another hour before they caught up with the rest of the platoons, the Devil leaped over the gathered soldiers and adventurers and landed inside the red barrier that lay in the middle of them. She grimaced with annoyance while pushing through the others, she reached the front to see what everyone was currently staring at.
Eight Devils in total where gathered inside the large barrier, the royal district’s walls were right behind them while everywhere else soldiers and adventurers alike cornered them. Karnage quickly inspected each one.
{Devil} Azura (Flame Keeper) (Demon Master) [Level 193]
{Devil} Peryite (Pyromaniac) (Blaze from above) [Level 223]
{Devil} Mephala (Trinity) (Devilish Brewer) [Level 221]
{Devil} Sheogorath (One Horn) (Devil Knight) [Level 212]
{Devil} Sanguine (Colossal) (Abyssal) [Level 231]
{Devil} Vile (Devil Predator) (Demonic Ranger) [Level 208]
{Devil} Nocturnal (Wraith) (Shadowblade) [Level 229]
{Devil} Hircine (Corrupted) (Unnatural) [Level 226]
The Devils were a mixture of red, blue, black and or white in colour with almost all but one having two crooked horns growing out of their foreheads and some having a pair of bat-like wings. They either grinned or smirked while glancing around at the army that surrounded them.
The one named Peryite was about to speak before suddenly stopping and pulling out a strange stone out of thin air, he gazed into it briefly before shock seemed to take over his entire expression. Peryite stored the stone back wherever it came from and seemed to whisper something to his companions.
Azura then began to speak with mana infusing his obnoxious voice “Well it seems like the fun is over! We shall be taking our leave now, please DO miss us a tad bit would you?” he took a bow while glancing at Karnage and winked.
Karnage angrily slashed both her swords at the barrier creating a small crack before a sudden flash of light that emanated from the Devil named Sheogorath blinded everyone, she raised her swords up defensively before a powerful explosion blasted the barrier and everyone else.
If they weren’t thrown back then they hit the ground, if they weren’t blinded by the rainbow of colours then they had their eyes closed shut as a cloud of dust covered the whole area.
Karnage’s vision was completely blurred from the light but what she heard the others say was as clear as day.
“They’re gone!”
