“Yo, it’s Goo-Guy” exclaimed Dherik, the Dwarf sounding genuinely surprised.
As Kyle rose to look back he was met with Karnage who almost leaped to put her hands around him, pressing her blushed face to his. Without a single word exchanged, they both immediately locked lips.
“EEEhhh!?” squealed Reyna, Kyle could not yet see who all was there but eventually she pulled back.
“S-sorry…couldn’t stop myself.” She apologised still blushing, still holding onto him closely.
Kyle chuckled “It’s fine, I like surprises.” he responded with a smirk.
“You’re healed now right?...” She asked while still holding onto his hands.
Kyle nodded with a weak smile “Yeah…My soul is healed…for now.”
Glancing around he recognised each person that had come with her, leaders of various guilds. Dherik, Regina, Shark, Luke, Nakano and Zaahr all stood together glancing around the area curiously seemingly taking the place apart with their eyes. All but Reyna who was staring at them with a blushed face.
Karnage turned back to them “You guys go on ahead, I’ll stick around.” Followed by some mumbled acceptance the group moved on and down into the actual dungeon.
“What are you all doing here?” asked Kyle as he pulled away and moved to sit down.
Karnage stepped around the table and sat facing him “Ah…just checking out this spot for the rest of the guild.” She fidgeted with her sword’s hilts briefly before turning to stare at him, opening and closing her mouth as if on the verge of saying something but unable to find the words.
But Kyle was already ahead “You heard about Sly?” he asked her, sensing her distress.
She sighed and nodded solemnly “I didn’t want to leave you on your own…after that…”
“Master isn’t on his own!” suddenly exclaimed Lilior with air filled cheeks as she grabbed hold of Kyle’s arm, much to his distress as her monstrous strength threatened to crush his bones.
Karnage only smiled as she leaned over the table and pressed her hands onto Lilior’s cheeks deflating them “No, no he isn’t.” she replied with a grin before turning back to a warm smile “We’re both here for him now.”
Lilior stared back at her with suspicion “That may have won over master’s heart but I won’t be so easy!” she exclaimed childishly, her voice muffled by her pressed cheeks.
Karnage only chuckled more “She’s just too adorable!” now having grabbed Lilior’s cheeks and began pulling on them gently.
Lilior whimpered through before suddenly shrinking down into Fairy form “Master!~” and flew off to hide behind Kyle’s shoulder as Karnage continued to laugh.
Kyle smiled as he watched them “Aren’t you two getting along.”
Having regained her composure Karnage smiled back “If I was worried you’d know.” her smile turned slightly evil.
“Noted…” Kyle responded awkwardly as Lilior peaked over his other shoulder and poked her tongue out at her.
“So…” Karnage decided to change the course of the conversation “What are you doing here? Waiting for someone?”
“The others I came with are already inside, I’m here to change my sub-class.” Kyle explained as he glanced back at the obelisk reopening the [Class Manager].
[Class Manager]
Level: 131
Main Class: Lord of Slimes
Sub Class: SpellBlade
Available Classes: Wrestler, Golemancer, Taoist, Wizard.
Available Heroic Class: {Chosen of Frost}
Warning; Changing class will remove your capability to use said class’s active and passive skills.
These skills cannot be learned without being said class.
“Oh, what you changing to?” asked a now curious Karnage.
“That’s…what I’ve been debating.” Kyle admitted “My main class alongside the classless skills I have already cover everything I usually need, I do require a better solution for damage dealing but that’s just a lack of imagination on my part. I doubt any of the sub-classes I have available will give me much.”
Karnage nodded in understanding “Well, let’s hear it then. What do you have to pick from?”
“Golemancer for potentially creating my own cores, and identifying materials like my slime more efficiently. Wizard for a wider range of spells and my Heroic Class to improve upon my Heroic skill.” Kyle quickly explained.
“Hmm…I’ll tell you now that Wizard would be redundant with your main class.” pointed out Karnage.
Kyle sighed “As much as I’d like to pick it, that is probably true.”
“It is, you’d only be changing the resource you’re working with from slime to mana.” She further explained.
“And Golemancer doesn’t seem to give me much other than creating cores…which then begs the question of how, with what and what tier?” Kyle sighed once more.
Karnage giggled “Seems like to me you’ve already made your choice.”
He stared off at the menu, inspecting the [Chosen of Frost] class only gave him the description of a Heroic class “And I have no clue what it could possibly do because I cannot inspect it like the others.”
“Guess you’re going to have to find out.” She urged on.
Kyle smiled weakly “I can always switch later…” he glanced back at Lilior then at Karnage “I hate this part.”
“We all do.” agreed Karnage with an awkward smile.
Kyle mentally selected [Chosen of Frost] and…surprisingly he remained conscious. Instead an array of notifications followed.
You have changed Sub-Class!
Skills: [Imbue Blade], [Imbue Body] have been removed.
Class: [SpellBlade] has been removed.
Chosen Classification complete!
Your sub-class is now [Chosen of Frost]!
You have gained the passive skill [{Ice Mastery}]!
Evolution! Skill [{Cold Aura}] has evolved into [{Ymir’s Glare}]!
Resource Evolution!
(Chilled Aura) is now also gained through (Fear)!
“Still here?” Karnage asked as she stared at him questioningly.
“Still here…” responded Kyle as he read the notifications “And well…Ah…Ymir knows me too well.”
Before reading through the new passive and the evolved active Kyle first took into account the change to (Chilled Aura), the resource for his heroic skill [{Cold Soul}]. Before his own and other’s hatred based Spirit fuelled the resource but now fear did the same. This meant Kyle could much more easily make openings to use this skill.
Next he inspected the two new skills.
[{Ice Mastery}] (Set skill stats): You are one with the blizzard, one with the cold and one with the frost.
All [Ice] based magic is fuelled by environmental mana as by Ymir’s will: Mana cost reduction 80%
[Ice] based: [{Tails}], [Ooze(Ice)]; Full 80% cost reduction.
[Ice] containing: [Slime Pistol], [Slime Cannon], [Slime Scattershot], [Gatling Slime]; Containing 40% cost reduction.
This skill alongside the (Elder Frost) evolution of [Ooze(Ice)] made it so that Kyle’s mana bar would barely move as he summoned forth [Ooze(Elder Frost)]. Both were an 80% reduction but as separate buffs had shown before this did not essentially add up to 160% reduction but instead separate reductions one after another.
It also almost doubled the amount of Frostfire Kyle could summon.
This content has been misappropriated from Royal Road; report any instances of this story if found elsewhere.
[{Ymir’s Glare}] (Set skill stats): Through you Ymir watches all, his cold glare turning pride to snow, courage to frost and anger to ice. You are his emissary, and you preach of winter.
Once target is within line of sight: Fear chance + 35% per point of (Chilled Aura)
INT attributed to your [Ice] class magic + 100% per point of (Chilled Aura)
INT attributed to all [Fire] class magic within line of sight – 80% per point of (Chilled Aura)
[Ice] based: [{Tails}], [Ooze(Draconic Fracture)]; Full 100% per point.
[Ice] containing: [Slime Pistol(Fracture Rounds)], [Slime Cannon(Fracture Rounds)], [Slime Scattershot(Fracture Rounds)], [Gatling Slime(Fracture Rounds)]; Containing 50% per point.
This passive blew Kyle’s mind, not only was it a 1000% damage increase to [Ice] based magic on max (Chilled Aura) but a horrifying debuff to any Pyromancer.
With these two skills together [Gatling Slime]’s surreal mana consumption was effectively reduced by 40% and it’s damage output increased by 50% per point of (Chilled Aura). All this was due to [Ooze(Elder Frost)]’s use in the weapon’s make and the (Draconic Fracture) sub-skill which was activated on contact with the base ammunition all of Kyle’s slime weaponry used.
Previously Kyle only used [Demonic Rounds] and [Corrosive Rounds] -for their much better damage than the base rounds- and only effectively with [Slime Cannon] due to their high mana consumption but now he could abandon those two ammunition types for specific scenarios. Instead making use of the more cost effective base rounds and [Gatling Slime].
Kyle stared off at each skill, he felt like he was just handed over the Holy Grail.
“Kyle?...” called out Karnage trying to regain his attention.
When Kyle suddenly stood up “Party me.”
“Uh…sure?” responded a surprised Karnage as the party window appeared for her, she accepted.
[Karnage] has joined your party!
“Okay so…I’m guessing we’re dungeon delving?” Karnage asked as she also stood up.
“I want to test my weapons new mana consumption, which I could do anywhere but I’d also like to test a few more things.” explained Kyle as he stepped around several tables with Lilior now sitting on his shoulder and staring back at Karnage who followed.
Karnage waved at Lilior with a grin “What exactly did you get? Was there even a trial?” Lilior immediately looked away with a huff. Karnage sighed dejectedly.
“No trial strangely enough, I got a change to my Heroic skill and these two passives.” Explained Kyle as they reached the staircase, he forwarded her the three skill’s descriptions and the new description for (Chilled Aura).
Karnage’s eyes went through several stages of widening and her face of paling as she read through “Broken…” she then mumbled.
Kyle glanced back with a raised brow “What is?”
She stared at him “Your class is broken…”
“Ehh…I wouldn’t sa-” Kyle was about to argue but she cut him off.
“Don’t even try to argue, come on let’s go.” She entangled her arm around his and pulled him forward.
“Fine fine…” Kyle chuckled awkwardly.
The three descended the stone spiralling staircase for a couple minutes, encountering several Fae, Dwarf or Demon who were ascending. Each would first give them a curious glance which would quickly turn into an awkward stare as Kyle ignored them, passing by and continuing his descent. He knew that similarly to Barik citizens, those of Ruk would not be any different and make use of [Inspect] just as casually.
But the constant staring was beginning to get to him, even though he couldn’t blame them. His Heroic title wasn’t very specific that he was a Chosen but now with his new sub-class it was made very clear.
Kyllix [{ [Master] Lord Of Slimes}]-[{Chosen Of Frost}] ({Holder of the Frostfire}) (BPM Fox) Level 131
(“Now that I think about it my title isn’t exactly a Heroic title is it?...”) mused Kyle as he inspected himself.
(“Your title was based off of Spirit Beasts of nobility, Holders are directly blood related to Founders making your title stand out more than a Hero’s would be to certain people.”) Ymir suddenly explained (“Would you rather have had a title showing off your standing as a Summoned and a class that did the same?”).
Kyle didn’t even need to think about it (“No you’re right, at first glance I look like a Half-Beast but if my title makes me stand out as a Spirit Beats then it will make negotiation easier...with certain people.”)
(“Of course, most wouldn’t know this but if you were to ask per say…an Elf of the Empire…”) said Ymir with persuasive tone.
Kyle sighed (“Less attention from citizens, more attention from ambassadors…”)
“Is something wrong?” Karnage asked hearing his sigh, they were still descending the seemingly never ending stairs.
“Speaking with Ymir, my umh…God?” Kyle explained awkwardly.
Karnage turned away “I’ll…stop asking questions.” causing Kyle to chuckle.
It took them several more minutes of descending the long spiral stair case but finally they reached its bottom, finding themselves facing a large wooden gate. As they approached the gate its double doors opened on their own revealing a boundless cavern on the other side, stepping through the doorway they noticed that the staircase was like a tower built into the very centre of the cavern.
Whichever way they looked large pillars of stone joined the high up ceiling and the ground below, each pillar having a long thin blue crystal embedded inside giving the cavern a bright blue light. Due to the pillars they couldn’t tell how far the cavern went.
Echoes of battle would sound by from time to time, the clashing of a blade, the resounding explosion of magic or a cry of determination followed by a scream of despair. They didn’t see anybody actually fighting around them, only a single party who had descended before them walking off around a pillar.
“I guess we just explore?” said Karnage as she followed the party with her eyes until they disappeared out of sight.
“Preparations first.” Responded Kyle as he gently took his arm out of her hold, opening his inventory he pulled out two monster cores and casually threw them ahead “Devourer, Devourer.” He worded the names of one of his previously created Golems.
Slime gushed out of his palms and rushed up to engulf the cores before suddenly more and more slime began to collect around them, slowly the two masses of slime grew larger and changed colour as the slime changed its type before taking shape.
Soon before them stood two large fox-shaped Golems, their outer layer being made of black-red (Monstrous) slime like a carapace of stone. Their eyes suddenly began shining a bright light blue as Kyle replaced them with (Spirit) slime, while also building up more (Monstrous) and (Ice) slime over each Golem’s shoulder until two large barrels had formed for each.
“I’ll call these…Juggernauts.” mused Kyle as he gave the Golems another look-over.
“Does that…actually work?” asked Karnage as she pointed at the [Gatling Slime]s on each of the Golems’ shoulders.
“Since they can cast spells, which shooting the already built-in weapon does count as a spell and not a skill which what creating the weapons themselves is…Yeah it should work.” replied Kyle as he walked around the Golems’ clawed feet.
Karnage continued to stare up at one Golem “But…what about mana? Do they even have a mana bar?”
“No they don’t, normally they can only use spells when in direct physical contact with me because it takes mana to cast them. At the same time creating the ammunition for my weapons also counts as a skill and not a spell, but that part is what takes mana not the actual shooting.” Kyle explained as he leaned onto one Golem's leg “That is why I filled their torsos with pre-made ammunition and extra (Elder Frost) slime for projectile propellant…and why my mana bar is currently completely empty.”
Mana [2/5400]
“Putting all my attribute points from 125 till now into INT served for something I guess, give me a few minutes out of combat and my mana will regenerate. While we do that, let’s look for monsters.” Said Kyle as each Golem kneeled forward allowing him to grab onto one’s snout and leap up onto its head, sitting down right between its ears.
Karnage did the same with the second Golem and then both stood back up controlled by Kyle’s mental instructions. Each quickly turned around and with a leap entered into a casual run, swerving around the still gigantic pillars albeit each Golem’s size.
----------------------------------------
Slowly they made their way through the massive cavern, Lilior growing to her normal size as they did, her longbow also appearing in her hand. One by one Kyle managed to summon each of his own [Gatling Slime], taking a few minutes of waiting in between each of the two.
The deeper they went the dimmer the light became, until suddenly they met their first encounter. As both Golems raced forward the ground ahead of them burst outwards showering them with debris and dust.
“Found some! Finally!” exclaimed Karnage as she stood up and unsheathed her shortswords.
As the dust cleared and moved a large form revealed itself, eight legged each connecting to a circular torso. The massive spider screeched out menacingly. The creature was entirely white with blue crystals growing out of its back, violet crystals forming the end of each leg like a long claw and white crystals growing out of its six thick mandibles.

“Lilior take perch! Kyle bombard it from afar!” exclaimed Karnage as she suddenly surged forward, directly at the spider’s face “Flaming dance!” her blades were engulfed in crimson flames “Wind’s dance!” her legs surrounded by miniature whirlwinds “Lightning dance!” and the rest of her body surged with bright white electricity before she surged forwards once more.
But once she had reappeared out of [Surge], the spider had disappeared. Blinking while still soaring through the air Karnage glanced around only to find three sets of crystalized mandibles lunging at her left, she tried to turn and parry the attack but the creature was too quick even for her.
Until suddenly several dozen blasts of frost exploded into the spider’s side causing it to screech once more but this time in pain. Kyle while still riding one Golem had fired each of the six [Gatling Slime]s at his disposal, knocking the spider off course. Seeing an opening he inspected the creature.
{Elite} Quartz Widow (Orion Dungeon) Level 135
The spider had leaned over stopping it’s lunge but after taking the second barrage that Kyle fired suddenly disappeared again, albeit having a mana reduction buff the [Gatling Slime] still drained a fair bit so instead of rapid fire he was using the burst fire tactic.
Kyle glanced around looking for the creature briefly when Lilior shouted out “Behind you!” the Fae had expanded her wings and rose up into the air, bow and arrow ready watching over her master.
Kyle glanced back to see the Spider quickly crawl around the pillar that lay behind him, its large six legs and bulky form unaffecting its insane movement speed. The spider lunged at him with its hind legs, the two ends looking like massive spears descending down onto him.
He was about to surged out of the way and abandon his Golems when the spider’s attack was abruptly countered. Lilior fired a single arrow at the spider’s left leg, the large icy projectile bursting through the leg and completely severing the claw off. At the same time Karnage appeared surging at the other leg, spinning mid-flight she slashed both swords twice at the second leg causing it to hang on by half its thickness.
The spider quickly backed up but lost its footing and fell forward, one right leg completely severed and the left hanging on by mere flesh did that to a six-legged arthropod. Lilior began to chant out her buffs as another arrow formed in her free hand, she continued to watch.
But Kyle saw his opening and willed his two Golems to turn around and leap back as he himself surged forwards, his Golems began a relentless barrage at the spider’s head as Kyle summoned slime out of his back which he willed to entangle around the creature’s severed leg.
When suddenly the spider disappeared again, but Kyle did not, nor did he fall. Kyle was still hanging onto something, something that was clearly there but nobody could see. He only smiled coldly while aiming both guns at where he’d last seen the creature’s head “Invisibility does not affect my detection skills.” And as his Golems continued their barrage, he began his.
Blinded by the bursts of frost, confused and in pain the spider blurred back into existence. Having lost its eyes, the creature back up some more only to feel the pillar’s side hit its back. It tried to screech but an arrow severing another leg cut it short.
“I’ll end it!” exclaimed Karnage as she ran down the pillar’s side, gaining speed as she descended until finally she surged downwards “Lightning strike!” she exclaimed and her entire body was engulfed in a blinding burst of yellow light before surging downwards even faster. The seemingly projectile of light shot right through the spider’s head and out its jaw, sending green goo flying all over the place.
Karnage landed onto the ground, continuing her charge for a couple more steps before turning around as the spider’s massive corpse fell onto her “Eek!” she tried to turn back and run out of the way but was stopped as a crashing sound echoed out from behind her.
“Never stand below a falling goliath…” said Kyle as she turned around to face him, he had conjured a pillar of condensed blue slime to catch the falling corpse and causing it to crash down sideways.
Karnage could only smile awkwardly “My hero?”
Kyle sighed as he glanced around “Still in combat.” He pointed out as suddenly both his Golems rushed to their side, both firing away at opposing directions causing two more spiders to blur out of invisibility “Encounter isn’t over.”
“I’ll take the left and you take the right?” Karnage offered.
“Three on the right for me, two on the left for you. Fine with me.” He said before surged forwards “Lilior assist her!”
Karnage looked at him as if he was kidding but soon enough she watched him blast at two other invisible creatures on his side “Looks like we’ve only just begun…”
