Rebekah was taking Nevan on tour around the french quarter as they headed towards her old home.
Marcel wearing a brown short sleeve shirt and black jeans with the necklace he always has on, popped out of an alley when he noticed her with his usual charming grin on his face. "Rebekah I didn't know Niklaus let you come back."
Rebekah after having fallen in love with Nevan and spending time with him, as well as some influence from the mating bite, now felt some hatred towards Marcel who continuously chooses a small insignificant city over her.
"Marcel, I'd say it's nice to see the man who decided to stay here over me, but that just wouldn't be true." She said with a straight emotionless face.
Marcel who still loved her was hurt, the grin now wiped off his face as he grabbed her hand not noticing she was with Nevan. "Rebekah, I didn't mean to hurt you, I still care about you."
Nevan let him finish before he went up grabbing his arm to ruin his reunion, squeezing hard enough for the bone to break as Marcel fell on to his knees caught off guard, letting out a small yell before he controlled himself.
Nevan eyes glowing- "Marcel, is it? We haven't met yet, hi, I'm Rebekah's husband and I don't like it when other men touch my wife." squeezing again so he would let out another yell of pain before letting him go.
The surrounding vampires who were with Marcel started to yell at him "Let him go if you know what's good for." as they made their way towards Nevan to help Marcel out.
Marcel realizing that this guy wasn't normal put his hands out to stop them from doing something they might regret. He looked over to Rebekah with a sad face as he asked, "Are you really married to this guy?"
Rebekah's face lit up as she hugged Nevan's arm, "Yes!"
Marcel looking hurt, looked back to his vampire friends, "Let's get out of here." too sad to think of anything else at the moment.
Now arriving at the home Rebekah used to live, Nevan loved the open courtyard as well as how private it felt despite being in such a loud populated area. He walked around looking at all the paintings and private stash of wine before they were interrupted by Niklaus and Hayley arriving.
Niklaus pushing through the door looking unhappy finding Nevan here- "Yes please just come on into my home and make the place yours" his voice dripping with sarcasm.
Rebekah rolling her eyes- "Can you ever not be yourself, we're here to help you Nik, if you don't wish our help we'll be happy to leave."
Hayley spoke up before Niklaus could ruin anything- "Yes! we wish for your help." giving a glare towards Niklaus who sent one right back at her. Hayley wasn't about to let someone who could help protect her daughter leave.
Niklaus snorted as he zoomed away.
Hayley looked towards Nevan recalling the words he once said to Niklaus, "Hey, um, so I remember you telling Niklaus you could make him stronger, can you also do the same for me? I wish to have the power to protect my child."

Nevan pondering about it said- "I'm not sure, you see Niklaus is an Original, so he won't die from the experiment, but you are not, you would be risking your life if you tried."
Thinking more he continued- "I have a couple of safer ways you could increase your strength, but that depends on how your vampire side reacts to your wolf side, right now they're in balance, it's not clear what would happen should that balance change, likely scenario is death.
Yeah no matter what I think of, you would be risking death to increase your strength."
Hayley looking sad, hating how Niklaus turned her into a hybrid at this moment, wish she could have stayed her true wolf self. "Can you explain your thoughts."
"Well if I bite someone I can turn them into an alpha, or upgrade betas into alpha, the other solutions would be for you to break through on your own into an alpha, but no one's been able to do that for a very long time.
The last would be for you to find alpha and kill it, becoming the alpha...The last one I should warn you I detest, I use to eliminate them on sight, now I'm a bit nicer about it and wait till they do anything I can use as an excuse to justify killing them, exception to the rule is if they fairly challenged for right of alpha, rather then becoming backstabbing little traitors."
Hayley contemplated her options, she felt the last option would be the safest. "I've decided to do a challenge, only what is considered an alpha to you?"
This question made him sad, the number of werewolves has been dropping over the years, even before the recent enemies that have started hunting them and that's due to the in-fighting.
In the past, the way werewolves become alphas was to increase their strength and breakthrough, but that all changed when the beta's learned you could steal the power from killing them. They stopped trying to break through and the backstabbing and betraying began for the alpha's power. The werewolves as a whole grew weaker for it, allowing even hunters to easily threaten the species.
The packs around New Orleans don't even have an alpha, likely it was killed from an outside member and their alpha power was taken away. This means that some werewolves even grow up without even knowing all about there species and what it means, don't even know what an alpha is.
Nevan shaking his head as he looked at her- "Hayley, the werewolves you've been with till now have only played alpha, a real alpha is far stronger than its beta brethren. You know werewolves have glowing eyes, right?
Well, the yellow represents beta, there is also a blue, which is still a beta, the blue just means they killed an innocent...Now an alpha has red eyes, they are the strongest werewolves and are the only ones who can make other werewolves."
Hayley confused asked- "Wait but you have orange eyes and as for making werewolves, New Orleans werewolves have been surviving here generation after generation and how come Niklaus doesn't have blue eyes."
Nevan- "I'm an Original in case you forgot, as for the continued generations surviving in New Orleans, obviously they were all born correct? not created by a bite, as for Niklaus I assume it's because his hybrid status has something do with that."
Hayley looking at Nevan started to beg- "You have to come with me to the wolves, you need to help us, we've been suppressed here for so long, you can help change all that."
Nevan looks reluctantly over to Rebekah who smiled at him, "You can go help Hayley with her wolf problem, I'll be fine here."
Nevan frowned- "I don't trust you alone with them."
Rebekah- "It'll be fine, I won't lower my guard around them, please trust me."
Nevan still frowning- "It's not you I don't trust."
Hayley- "She'll be fine, she can't die anyway."
Nevan giving her a nasty glare- "I'm not worried about her or did you forget she's pregnant, I don't want anything unknown happening, even if her temporary death isn't harmful, I still don't wish it to happen while she's carrying our child."
Hayley paled at forgetting something so important, Rebekah came to her rescue though- "Nevan, I'll be fine, you can't be with me 24/7...well I mean you shouldn't have to be, I'll take care of myself, I'll take care of our child." looking as serious as she could so he would feel fine to leave, she would go with him, but the last place she wants to go is some swampland.
Nevan walking out the door yelled back- "Don't drop your guard around anyone!, lets go Hayley!" not liking the fact he was leaving, but he did want to help the werewolves out.
Even though he wasn't concerned about the dropping numbers of werewolves, he knew he shouldn't just stay passive while the enemy wiped out his kind for a way to get to him.
