22 Freda

Wolf Nevan stayed low as he prowled closer to his target, careful to not snap any sticks as he approached. Just as he was within pouncing distance, the golden enemy turned and made the first move pouncing on him, knocking them both over as they rolled.

Wolf Rebekah laughing- "Haha, you'll never be able to sneak up on me my love."

Nevan was looking down pawing the ground muttering- "Stupid bond, why can't it let me have some fun."

Rebekah walked up to him rubbing against him seductively- "Well we can have other types of fun."

Nevan watching as she swayed her butt in his face.

Half an hour later with their wolf cherries now popped, they both thought to themselves 'We'll never do that again.' There was a reason animals only did it for reproduction after all.

Rebekah- "We've been searching around the lake for hours now, she should have noticed us by now, I think it's time we give up and go back to that Anita, I don't see why she couldn't do it, her store had the same principle."

Nevan- "True, but she said Freda was her elder, so it's most likely her doing, which is why we can't give up."

Rebekah mumbled- "Not like I need to see her."

Nevan squinting his eyes at her- "What was that."

Rebekah laughing as she went up and licked his face- "I'm only joking dear, did I forget to thank you for the wonderful gift."

Nevan- "Yes you certainly did, as soon as you got those clothes you ignored and left your nude husband to another woman."

Rebekah a little embarrassed by this cutely pawed his face as she denied it- "I don't know what you're talking about."

Nevan rolling his eyes suddenly remembered that he could use his eyes to try and track down the magic. His eyes flashing he started making his way around once again. Rebekah noticing this didn't forget to yell- "Did you seriously just activate your eyes now?"

Now his turn to be embarrassed simply turned his face away saying- "Of course not."

Rebekah not letting him off started laughing- "I think you're getting senile in your old age."

The arrow pierced him hard as he fell to his belly looking miserable. Rebekah now feeling bad, after all, she would die if he called her old woman, transformed back to human and started petting him. "There, there, I didn't mean it, I love you with all my heart." laughing when she noticed his tail wagging.

Nevan now using his eyes started to see the magic fluctuations, following them back to their origins. Rebekah just following along in her wolf form, unable to see anything herself. Stopping at the edge of the widest part of the lake, he could see a massive gathering of magic in the center of the lake.

Nevan- "She's out there, in the middle of the lake, it would seem she has her very own hidden island...That's so cool!"

"So do we swim?" she asked looking out to the center, before hearing a splash to her side, seeing Nevan was already well on his way without her. "Hey don't leave your wife behind...tch, it's just a hidden island what's there to be excited about."

Nevan arriving on the hidden island that showed itself to them as they got closer, could hear the grumblings of Rebekah who wasn't far behind. Ignoring this he started to make his way around the island enjoying what Freda's done with the place.

The plants were all placed in intricate designs, in magic formations to help her with her rituals and castings. This was nice cause it was very symmetrical and allowed for nice walkways throughout the island. Freda's house was placed in the center of a nice hexagon clearing, with magic permeating all over the island, but most dense in the middle where she lived.

Nevan hasn't felt this much magic in the air since coming out of the ice age before humans rose to dominance. With Rebekah catching up he made his way to the house, but soon stopped as a table with chairs appeared in front of him with tea, thinking 'This is oddly familiar.'

He took a seat with Rebekah on the left, sipping tea as they waited for Freda to appear. Finishing their tea with no sign of Freda showing up, Rebekah started to get antsy. "Why isn't she here yet? what if she's planning something."

Nevan- "Relax, I've met Freda in the past and we could be said to be friends to a degree."

Rebekah- "But you said it yourself, this place is filled with magic with which she can most probably use to do just about anything, aren't you being a bit to trusting towards such a powerful witch in her own domain no less, you were the one who told me the stories of them wiping our kind out in the past."

Nevan frowned hearing that as he recalled those brutal times of magical warfare. Even back then he made sure to plan everything perfectly before going up against his attended target. The witches could do amazing unpredictable things with the magic they wielded. Witches were known as the strongest by all back in those days.

Now times have changed though, while witches are still an unpredictably strong force, magic is on the decline worldwide and Nevan's power is still strong as ever, with some recent newly acquired skills gave him the confidence to fight even Freda should things go south.

This formation she built, however, was quite the surprise and could spell trouble should she turn hostile. This only confirmed to Nevan he needs to train his new gift even more until he could either wield this power like the witches or prevent it from being able to cause him further trouble.

Freda (Old woman, 5'5" tall with gray hair, some wrinkles.) appeared at this moment in the chair, she then raised her right hand clenching it in a fist to incapacitate Rebekah while raising her left hand and waving it out to send Nevan flying back.

Getting back up to his feet looked over to see Rebekah squirming in pain on the ground. Pissed off he instantly went full werewolf charging at Freda who was already prepared to send another wave of magic force. Nevan also ready, eyes glowing as he braced through it only for another wave to come right behind it and send him flying once again.

Nevan growled- "Freda how dare you hurt my wife!"

Freda simply grinned at him as she seemed to clench her fist tighter making Rebekah scream out, she tried to transform, but Freda made sure she never got the chance. Furious Nevan started panting in rage as his mind slowly slipped. This time when he moved he left a crack on the ground to Freda's surprise.

The magical formation she created was supposed to be unbreakable, meaning the ground it rested upon shouldn't be able to even crack.

He was moving way to fast for her to even sense anymore let alone see, but this was still her place. She soon saw Nevan claws right by her left side trying to reach her before coming into contact with a barrier, sending cracks along it. The barrier repaired itself before the second strike, allowing enough time to wave her hand again.

His eyes glowing he found himself now immune to her wave, not even feeling it as he started to speed up his attacks on her, self-repairing barrier. Freda's eyes going wide at seeing him now immune released Rebekah as she brought her left hand over to send waves of magic to bring Nevan to his knees.

Nevan in battle mode was once again experiencing huge benefits from the magical attacks, he was quickly learning how to shield himself from such attacks. He slowly started to rise back to his feet as his body adapted to the magical force, trying to prevent further harm.

Freda now confirming her suspicions waved both hands out teleporting Rebekah and Nevan to their seats. "Alright Nevan that's enough, I just wanted to see something, let's not turn this into something more." Now sipping her tea, acting like what she did was no big deal.

Nevan still fuming wasn't willing just to let it go as he tried to get up only to find himself stuck to the chair.

Freda- "You won't be able to get up, I was only playing before, your not nearly as strong as you think you are."

Nevan wasn't having it though, ignoring her, the chair started to groan under the pressure coming off of him as he struggled to get up. Freda not liking that sound snapped- "Stop it, I told you it was just a test earlier I had to be sure where your strength was at."

Nevan's eyes glowing fiercely as the chair broke and he was once again standing. Still stuck in place though he started to force out more and more of his strength as the ground started to tremble and crack. Freda at this point knew she fucked up.
