Chapter 48 - Chronicles of Heavenly Demon V, Destruction of the Edea Life Tree III
The conclusion between the Golden Bow Saint and the Holy Edean Monarch went to the former, Grimjaw. Although Cross Linfey performed at a level that only the powerful could withstand, the Golden Baron King prevailed due to his experience and the assimilation of the two added energies, The Final Purification Method, and a Dragon Heart that is attached to the Dantian (not the heart).
Bastard! Huff! Huff! Grimjaw was seen panting as he was struggling to catch his breath. Fuck! If only there weren’t any need to hold back! The Golden Bow Saint struggled not to kill his target with someone so powerful as the Holy Monarch.
Wedge, the area’s clear. Grimjaw signaled the 6th Class Archmage through telepathy. Affirmative. Entering the space momentarily. Wedge replied in his usual analytic, monotone voice.
A few portals opened accompanying Wedge, a few Lich species, Death Champions, Death Archers, and Death Lancers occupied the immediate space. “Restrain the Edean Monarch to custody,” Grimjaw knew what to do after the battle.
“With this, their forces should surrender and submit to the doom of their World Tree,” successfully bargaining for the life of their Monarch would absolutely drain their morale. Parsifal thought this would be the best way to mitigate losses due to the Omen Sect’s dominance in this war. No need to lose someone like him. Grimjaw was close to catching his breath as he looked at the individual who had made him feel the closeness of death. Pant. Pant.
“Imagine if he had what I had,” Grimjaw closed the scene with his brilliant golden armor that easily allures the eye. He had appreciated the Sith Lord’s Blessing of sharing the Chi-Breathing Method that was the crux of the battle. Insidiously, Grimjaw was simply showcasing his greed and that no one else other than a few had access to such a thing. A fact that Grimjaw displayed with a sadistic grin fueled by avaricious greed.

Dario overlooked the entire battle between his forces and the Edean Army. High in the sky, maintains his position with Void Step, a Footwork Technique that is above the Wind Step. With the ability to see for countless miles away in the distance, the battle was amusing to the Lord Disciple. Back then, Dario had thoughts of intervening in fights such as this to ensure complete victory, but now, there is a strong faith in his comrades.
“That ‘spirit’ looks like quite a challenge for the Bow God,” Dario assessed the battle between Parsifal and the ancient creature, Vartiel.
It is a creature with the combined form of earth, wind, water, and wood from the breath of the Edea Life Tree. The Vartiel was created solely to protect the graveyards and resting places of the Elvhen. It bears a striking similarity to a Trent, but, stands on five massive legs appearing as tree trunks.
According to the Bestiary recorded in the Omen Sect’s libraries, such a ‘spirit’ was created in the days of old, approximately when all Fairy creatures were fighting and spreading conflict in the world. There is a famous story when an Ancient Dragon attacked a World Tree, the Vartiel successfully drove back the Wyrm. Although the creature looks evil and menacing, its redeeming factor was the creature’s sole purpose of existence and was given the name, “Vigil.” It is described as an ‘organic,’ or, spider-like golem.
What an enthralling magick bow. Even though Dario saw his First Familiar sweating, Ebonwing was the focus. Do you intend on not using your spear? So far, Parsifal had his beloved, Exvane, the Epic-Grade spear that was the spoils from some nameless Undead in Hollow World. Such a weapon had gone through a few phases to get to the Legendary-Grade that it is now.
Hmph! Dario instantly grasped the truth and smiled as wide as the devil, “You’re taking the title of ‘Bow God’ seriously, aren’t you?!”
Thump. Thump. The thought of Parsifal having the resolve not to use any weapon other than his bow made Dario’s blood boil. Invigorated by the epiphany, Dario could not contain himself any longer and began to descend.
“How could I not join in such fun?!!” The expression on Dario's face was the darkest of darkness and the evilest of evil. He was fully ingratiated with dark emotion.

KACHING!!!! Sounds of metal clanged against the Vartiel’s tree-like body that looked like stone. “Fucking die already!!” Parsifal was endlessly spamming his skills, chopping the spirit’s ungodly HP. His arrows and speedy footwork were the tactics so far.
Uninhibited, the Vartiel could move at surprising speeds and slammed its giant tree-trunk leg on Parsifal's right side. SLAM!!!!! “ARGHHH!!!”
Although the Hellfire Armor set mitigated much of the damage, the Vartiel naturally had divine power from the Edea World Tree. That thing’s learning my movements! Parsifal brought Ebonwing from the Item Box, unleashing a rapid hellfire volley. “Take this asshole!”
Magick Bow: [Dark Matter Synergy] -Fires hundreds of thousands of magical arrows manifested from yang (dark) energy. An intense volley that will never stop burning the target. Rank: EX Proficiency: 130%
At the beginning of the war, the Vartiel was deployed further upfront from the Elvhen Army which was a somewhat strange sight. This intrigued Parsifal, but, did not deduce any further when the battle commenced. With all that said, the hellfire volley covered the entire body of the massive Vartiel.
SCREECH!!!!! The Vartiel let out an unholy scream.
!
Suddenly, a colossal presence could be felt from the skies. Master?! Parsifal instantly recognized the incoming object that looked like a blue-shining comet.
Protected by a magical shield, Dario slammed into the Vartiel consumed by hellfire flames. KABOOM!!! A mushroom-like dust emerged as high as the Edea World Tree.

The Lord Disciple flew to Parsifal, “The Vartiel is an immortal creature within this forest.”
The reason why Parsifal was having difficulty was because of the special ability of the spirit that it is immortal within the confines of the Edea Life Tree. As long as it is within the vicinity of the World Tree’s roots, the Vartiel will never wither. Dario sent a telepathic message to Parsifal.
Understood Master! Given this new information, Parsifal immediately knew what to do. Had the situation been going on for much longer, Parsifal would have succumbed to attrition.
Ultimate Technique: [Hell Star Killer] -A bolt that is the epitome of true darkness, a flame from the very depths of hell where only the hypocrites remain. Encases the target in sealing flames and momentarily shifts the plane to the Hellfire Dimension, Gehenna. Otherworldly screams can be heard, traumatizing anyone who hears it. Rank: EX Proficiency: 130%
Reaching into the energy of Hellfire, Parsifal was one of the few who were permitted to learn about the Flames of Hell. Death-decaying screams were heard as the pure dark bolt took form. This was the skill that Parsifal had meticulously devised to counter the Ultimate Technique of Judge Atoru.
“Be free,” words spoken softly, however, a terrifying encounter for the target.
SHRIEEEEEEKKKKKKKK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Due to being a “divine” being created from the Edea World Tree, the unholy flames from Hellfire were its utter weakness. Still, the Vartiel regenerated all the same due to its inherent ability.
“Stay there for a second,” Parsifal had given that last attack his all and collapsed.
Dario immediately used Telekinesis to prevent Parsifal from falling to the ground, “Well well… you have certainly outdone yourself.” To think he could already reach the 5th Stage? Kuku. Dario expressed a devilish chuckle.
From the inner palace that is the Edea World Tree, Grimjaw could be seen with the Monarch, “Surrender or your King dies!” The Edean Army was shaken, seeing both Cross Linfey and Vartiel defeated.
CLANG! CLANG! CLANG! CLANG!
Weapons, bows, and armor were willfully disarmed by the Edean Army as their dignity had been completely taken from them. The Heavens are with me! The Lord Disciple began to have a conceited belief in himself as his face expressed a laughing demon.
“Kukukukuku!!” Dario fully ingratiated himself with the darkness that is emotion. “Kahahahaha!!!” Ending the scene with a burst of decrepit laughter, the Edean Army had despaired. The battle against the Edea World Tree had concluded.

“Kuku,” Jinn was laughing, watching his disciple conquer the vast country, Edea Life Tree.
“Don’t laugh at that, sir,” Veda stood vigilant as he was concerned about his Lord’s dignity.
“You should know better than anyone, Veda,” Jinn stood from his lavish seat and approached the crystal-clear window overseeing the stars and heavens. “I was much worse.” Given that Jinn was from Earth, Dario’s evil expression was more tame, “It would be unbefitting of a Master if I could not guide my disciple to that point.”
His words led to a more serious matter and Veda instantly caught on to it, “Don’t tell me,” Veda’s heart dropped. Such emotions. The butler had not experienced such a sensation.
Veda had comprehended that Jinn was fully intending for Dario to become the epitome of evil, “With this, his dreams are now possible.”
Jinn looked back at his confidant, the butler whom he trusts the most, “‘And everyone is powerless under you.’” His eyes held resolve, true and resolute.
Astonished, Veda had learned something new, even for a super-intelligence like himself. In response, the butler could do nothing but bow toward his Master who had shown a wisdom that was as deep as the ocean.

Auriel held the greatest responsibility in the battle of the Edea Life Tree. His task was to fight against the World Tree itself as its roots caused destructive damage in wide areas. Fortunately, Auriel happened to be a specialist in A.O.E. attacks, given that he was a Flare Elf who was known to command the elements of fire and ice like their own.
Unlike most Snow Elvhen, Auriel is more “pure-blooded” and appears in two forms, one in his fiery, and one with the diamond. In this battle, Auriel will use the Fire Element and is seen with white-flame hair and shining fiery eyes.
The skills displayed were meteor-like fireballs raining from the Aura-manifested bow and arrows. Slowly, the roots turned to ash as the flames never stopped burning.
Elemental Aura Techniques: [Searing Migraine] -A primordial flame that scorches anything in its path. Maximized with Aura exponentially increasing attack power. A classic move seen during The Ice Age, 1440, Gloriano Era. Rank: EX Proficiency: 140%
Auriel materialized a bow with the innate ability to conjure primordial flames alongside arrows. When released, the arrows quickly envelop itself in a pillar of fire capable of going through most material. This was the move used to clear a World Tree.
The Primordial Flame seems...? Auriel noticed the change of nature within his Elements. He searched within himself, stimulating The Final Purification Method and Dragon Heart.
!
I see. The realization dawned upon the Flare Elf. It was possible to imbue certain “natures” like Divine Power, a healing-type flame, per se. With this, I can do what no one else could. The newfound knowledge of the nature of being a Sith Familiar had opened a long-lost memory of when Auriel had witnessed the Ancient Beings, Phoenix.
Ultimate Techniques: [Phoenix Summoning] -A memory forgotten in days long past, Auriel had witnessed the descent of the Phoenix Flames burning his World Tree. After such events, the Diamond Flame Tree was no longer of this world. Rank: EX Proficiency: 100%
The talent of someone like Auriel was akin to having another Kensei, albeit, an Archer and Elementalist. In detail, even remembering a memory or copying one’s skill with a single glance is more than enough for Auriel to make into his own.
As the fire arrow was loosed, it took shape into a magnificent bird and descended to the very roots of the Edea Life Tree.
There would be no explosion with this attack as Auriel had perfect control of the Phoenix Primordial Flames. With a single performance, Auriel had perfectly executed the attack with precision and accuracy befitting a Bow Saint.
“The world will remember ‘The Flare Bow,’” a cold remark from the Snow Elf. He had stated the time when he was a Chieftain to a certain group of Snow Elves from Niflheim.
Ultimately, the battle had concluded as the Edea Life Tree could be seen fully consumed by the Phoenix Flames that did not burn the roots but completely disintegrated them.
