Forest Life 8, Level Ups?

Forest Life 8, Level Ups?

Fire to Fire: Time until rebirth: 0 hours, 0 minutes, 50 seconds

For the past 5 hours, whatever that means, I've been going over the fight I had with the Rattling Worm, picking apart every detail of the exchange. Not by choice of course, I can't do anything other than look and think while reduced to ashes so reflecting helps alleviate the boredom. I have made a number of new discoveries and insights in regard to fighting and more importantly, the euphoric squiggly know as 'Level up'.

Fire and foremost! I've gotten better at fighting! Or at least more durable, being able to take more hits gives me more opportunity to fight back, that counts as improvement right? The current me should have no trouble taking down any of the creatures that I've fought so far, which brings me to my second revaluation.

Level Up! And all those squiggles, strength, endurance, dexterity, intelligence and affinity.

I've come to believe that an increase to any of these is an increase to my own abilities! I came to this conclusion because my previous level up displayed obvious improvement due to the large increase. I have a vague idea as to what each squiggle means.

Strength: How strong I am, my supple muscles! Endurance: My toughness and stamina! Dexterity: Kinda strange this one, I think its how fast I flap my wings or move my legs? Intelligence: My genius! I think increasing my intelligence is a fantastic idea! Affinity: Absolutely no clue, this has only ever increased when I leveled up, not by itself like the others.

Leveling up makes me stronger! Quickly at that! I must gain levels! If I level up enough will I become invincible? Never again will the ugly Rattling Worms lay a single scale on my perfect and glorious feathers! Death to the Rattling Worms!

+ 1 Intelligence

Yes I know squiggle, I'm a genius.

Speaking of killing those hideous creatures, killing things in general seems to be the cause of my level ups! I suspect the squiggly 'exp' has a part to play in this matter? More exp must be a good thing right? Stronger opponents give more exp! Gimmie dat exp!

Fire to Fire: Time until rebirth: 0 hours. 0 minutes, 5 seconds

Oh great timing squigglies! Do your thing!

The air around me grew still and ominous as the squigllies ticked down, allowing a magical influence to circulate my ashes into a burning whirlwind. The miniature tornado condensing at it's center, forming a super heated ball of fire made from my ashes, where my body starts reconstructing itself.

Oh how I love this feeling, not worth the long wait, but still a great feeling, also, is it just me or is my rebirth getting more spectacular? Must be trying to match my own spectacular form!

Floating to the ground, the ball of fire melted away to reveal my incandescent body, glowing with energy. I'm back baby!

With the afternoon sun beaming on my back I scuttle over top the dead Rattling Worm and tuck straight in! Golly gosh am I absolutely starving! I haven't eaten in a whole day! My last meal was the leftovers from the Grey Fluffer, barely anything!

I plunge my beak into the insides of the defeated creature drinking the stagnant blood and ripping off chunks of tightly packed flesh. Devouring with great speed the whole meal is reduced to nothing but the scaly skin in the span of a minute! An amazing accomplishment considering that the Rattling Worm is three times my size!

Nothing beats those blankets at my cave though, I think with nostalgia. Delectable meat and ultimate fluffiness, the unrivaled combo, one day, one day I shall return and eat my fill once again.

Leave some blankets for me would you? Big Fluffer! If you're still there.

Wait what am I thinking!?

Not even the Big Fluffer is safe from my predatory prowess anymore! I think I'll give the Fluffer a bite too :3 I'm even more confident about my victory because of my amazing new skill that I... remembered?

"Bellows" I roar at the wall of stone blocking my path.

An intense heat builds up in my throat, bubbling with righteous fury as it makes it's way to my beak. I open my beak wide and a bolt a magnificent fire launches towards the stubborn wall, trailing a enchanting wisp of fiery brilliance as it goes.

The bolt hits the wall and a small explosion rattles away some of the loose rocks from their snug holds. The impact of the firebolt has left behind a small blackened patch of stone with a wisp of smoke reaching to the orange sky.

Cool bananas.

I have a proper ranged attack now! Looks stronger than cinders in terms of firepower too! An all-around upgrade. Maybe there will be some scenarios when Cinders is more appropriate, but Bellows is stylish for sure. I can't wait to pepper my enemies with fire attacks from afar, I'll be invincible!

I hum out a smug melody as I bounce my way up to the stone wall and resume my journey to walk around it. Hopefully, I'll run across more cocky Rattling Worms to fuel my exp acquisition on the way. I'm feeling positively un-killable right now!
