The morning sun filtered through the jungle-forest's vibrant canopy, painting the teeming world below in a colorful myriad of whites, greens and yellows. Truly, the beauty of nature is awe-inspiring to those who take the time to appreciate it.
I too would be appreciating the bustling forest, if not for more pressing concerns.
Oh gosh, this god forsaken tummy of mine is ALWAYS in a constant state of the rumbles. Why did I leave my tunnel again? The Big Fluffer huh? I bet I could even beat him up if I ran into him. After all, I did defeat the sparky grey fluff who's easily tougher than the Big Fluffer! I mean, I did die in the process. but that's besides the point.
It's too bad I have absolutely no clue as to where my little cave-tunnel is, I could really go for a small blanket right now, maybe even 3 small blankets, I think while patting my belly in attempt to settle it down.
Well, it's fine, I'll find it again in the future. For now! It's flying time!
I perform a few basic warrior-stance and sky touching stretches with my birdy form and walk to the base of the branch I slept on. It's best to get a running start for take off!
I hold out my wings horizontally like a feathery aeroplane and charge down the length of the branch. I reach the branch's end, jump, and flap! The wooden runway leaves my feet and I start falling, it's about a 4 meter drop to the floor, deadly for most creature my size, but! I have perfected the art of 'flapping just hard enough to avoid any fatal injuries upon impact with the ground'.
With my signature technique put into practice, I glide down ungracefully to the green plants below. Of course, I aim for the softest looking landing spot, but getting rustled up is inevitable.
Suffered 2 Falling Damage
Woot! That hurt less than usual for a drop that high! I must be getting better!
I roll myself out of the soft plant I landed on and dust off my feathers, back to their impeccable splendor. I twist around on the spot and take in my surroundings. Lots of trees, millions of plants.

Looks just about the same as the rest of the forest!
Picking a direction at random, I zoom off through the under growths and nimbly tango around any nasty creepy crawlies in the dirt. The feeling of sticks whipping at my feet and damp wind blowing on face face is intoxicating, minutes pass in seconds as I get lost in the moment.
WAIT!!!! *skreech*
I skid to a stop by pushing my claws into the dirt and flapping backwards, sending a wave of dirt and tiny sticks ahead.
I'm not going to fall for this trick again!
"I'm not some silly GOOSE" I say while while turning around the way I came.
I won't be a toy to your whimsical games! I'm a smart cookie, I learn things. A smile forms on my beak as I zoom back in the direction I came from. Even when I reach the bush that I landed on I still keep running, keeping a straight line.
Why did I do this? The answer is obvious.
Without fail, at every single opportunity up to this point, I have chosen the wrong direction to go 100% of the time, every time. So, by going the opposite way to the way that I originally picked, I'm 100% certain to reach the big blue tree in the center of the huge lake. Golly Gosh, not even the gods can rival my intellect or flawless logic!
Keeping the thought in mind, I shoot through the dense forest for the next few hours. The growls of my stomach echoing off the trees and scaring away the bird life, it's ok though, I'll find something to eat at the lake for sure!
+ 1 Endurance
I notice that was once a forest, has now become entirely jungle. The trees are twice or sometimes thrice as tall, the plants too, are much larger and colorful, often wrapping around the base of the jungle trees. I can see many new creatures in the forest too! And I mean a lot, like, a lot a lot.
Fortunately, my stomach sounds like an angry dragon, the noise is enough to scare away most things from the fear-inducing growl. It's good for me as I may avoid fighting on an empty stomach, but, at the same time, I really want to learn about all the creatures living here! Especially the fluffy ones. At best, I can steal some glances at the buttocks of a creature running away, not the most pleasant view, but there's variety! Big butts, little butts, fluffy butts, slimy buts, scaly butts, white butts, brown butts, black butts, purple butts, rectangle butts, round butts.... I continue to observe the many butts on display as I blaze forth.
What's this? I wonder as I snake around another giant jungle tree. It sounds like...
Water! I can hear running water!
I veer to my left where the sound of running water is. Yes! I knew it~ I knew I'd outsmart the god of directions! I bust out of a fern with a joyous squawk and stop right next to the water's edge.
Crystal clear water, flowing at a gentle pace sweeps through the jungle trees. The water isn't very deep, maybe 2 chickens deep? but the stream makes up for it with width, its maybe 40 chickens wide? I can even see little fishies struggling to swim upstream towards the mountains, you can do it little guys!
There are large stone protruding from the water's surface along the stream's body, almost like stepping stones! If only I had longer legs, I would be able to cross!
Well it's not like I need to cross at the moment anyways. I continue to advance through the jungle along the waterside, not as fast as earlier, just a leisurely stroll. My stomach continues to contort and thunder like a dying horse, "hang in there a little longer!" I say. 'I would also appreciate it if you stopped hurting so much when I don't feed you', I internally plead to my insides as an afterthought.
The stream widens further as I cover the distance to the lake, I must be getting close to that sweet, sweet, big blue tree.
I quicken my tiny bird feet to a blur of speed and I sprint with renewed stamina! This tree better be as cool as it looked from my mountain tunnel!
