I thought we were buddies

Kemuri winced in disbelief. "And this is supposed to give me powers?". Zorion exhaled sharply, "No guarantees."

Kemuri held the vial towards her nose, her instants telling her to drop it. To run. She gulped then closed her eyes and inhaled fully, feeling her insides fill up with splinters. She almost vomited by the nausea yet continues. The next few minutes of inhaling were like shoving bleach and sea water down your throat nonstop. She stumbled onto the floor, drooling and coughing phlegm from her now-blue lips.

She tried to look up, but realized her eyes had swollen. She desperately tried to get to her on her feet. but her arms were weak. Frail, but in one instance, it went away. The pain was gone; the horror had vanished. She touched her chest, checking if she still has a heart, slowly relaxing. However terror grabbed her throat when she couldn't feel her chest. Hyperventilating, she tried touching her body and tried moving.
