Ruby woke up rested. The sun shone on her pale face. She stood on her hand-woven mattress and heard a noise. It was Lana snoring by her bed. Her drool was cascading like a waterfall. Ruby giggled, then opened the door and spotted Dearan. He did the same, and then they both looked flushed. She tried to look at him again, but she saw Dearan do the same.
Finally, she got the courage to walk up to him and play their stupid game. She reluctantly thanked him for accepting her. Dearen just said, "It's okay," as he fiddled with his index fingers.
