I Burn

Lana crawls to her sister, who is lying motionless on the cold floor.

"Hey sis, sis, you said you would play with me," she starts shaking her. "You said that this would soon be over..." Tears start falling down her pale skin and stay between her hollowed cheeks.

"Please sis. Wake up! Wake up! Wak —"

"Shut the fuck up!"

A bodyguard in a worn-out red jumpsuit and a huge belly cascading from a hole in his pants bangs the cell bars with his baton.

"Listen, hear you, little shit," he points at Lana with his oily fingers.

"In this factory, you are just little ants that work for the queen. You are to do labor and sleep. That is all. Now if I hear you crying again, then my supervisor will come, and your thief of a sister won't be the only corpse rotting in this room."

He gives Lana's sister a disguised look, grabs a walkie-talkie from beside the cell, and tells whoever was at the other end that "they lost another one.".

A case of theft: this story is not rightfully on Amazon; if you spot it, report the violation.

Lana struggles to hold back tears. She knows that if he hadn't eaten their food daily, her sister would have had enough energy to work.

She knew if they just got their deserved crumbs, then her sister wouldn't have to steal food. She got caught, was beaten, and was left to die next to Lana.

She puts her hands on her head, as if to make a small barrier against her reality. Her breath gets heavy. She tries to tell herself to stop, but her anxiety only heightens.

She started pulling her hair, her hair has turned white. As she allows darkness to consume her, the door to her room flies open.

She and the bodyguard both stared at the door, stunned to see a red-haired woman covered in blood striding in with worn-out blue jeans and a ripped shirt.

The bodyguard rushed into action and swung his baton. The woman caught it with ease, pulled the man closer in a vice grip around his neck, and said, "Where is Lana Rose?"

The guard, losing breath fast, panickily pointed at Lana, who sat motionless.

The woman threw the guard towards the wall, letting the wind of the impact reveal her six-pack under her shirt. Lana locked eyes with her.

She wants to scream, but the words don't come out. The bloodied woman takes a step closer, then closer and closer until she is just next to the bars separating her from Lana.

For once in her 12 years of being in the ceil from birth, she is slightly glad to be behind those steel pillars.

"W-What do you want f-from me?" she finally asks.

The woman investigates Lana's expression and nods. A wide smile flashes on her face, and her whole demeanor changes.

"The names Kemuri and Imma help you out."
