Now I must admit that dragging the bloody corpses of three giant snakes around the forest wasn't the brightest of ideas. However, it wasn't as bad as it may sound. Yes, I was attacked by other monsters, a lot, but I by killing them I got more materials to work with you know. For starters, some kind of weird combination between a wolf a bear and a lion attacked me. It was really tough, strong and fast but dumb as a brick too. It took me no more than five minutes to get rid of it after a combo to its neck. Its fur is somewhat long and really fluffy so I was thinking of using it for clothes too.
You may be wondering for what reason would I drag the corpses around the forest. The answer is to find a clear space to work in. This forest is quite dense and almost no light reaches the ground, not to mention it's really damp. I was thinking of finding a clearing and make somewhat of a temporary base in there. The result is as follows, after walking around for three days while eating the meat of the monsters that attacked me alongside dragging their corpses or at the very least their hides around I managed to get to a nice clearing! it is a somewhat circular clearing with a radius of maybe two hundred meters? three hundred? I don't have a measuring tool but that is my guess. There is a river that flows through the middle too so it has everything I could ask for.
For starters, I began by skinning the corpses. Some had already started decomposing so the smell was quite something but the hide was still in good condition. After that, I just got rid of the routing flesh by placing it somewhere in the circumference of the clearing. It may end up attracting other predators but if that happens I will just kill them how I have been doing until now. Next, I placed the skins on a large rook to dry them up. I am not an expert on leatherworking so all of this I am doing by instinct.
While I waited for something to happen with the hides I began working on something else. Which is to make a simple wooden hut. This place has a few large boulders laying around but no caves or anything that could protect me from the elements. Thankfully these last three days have been uneventful in that area but who knows when my luck will run out. With a moment of hesitation, I decided to ask Naru and Pyrka if they had any objections about me using them for cutting trees. The answer was an uninterested no. Without any worries left I began my work of wood chopping with a pair of swords.
A few hours have gone by while I was chopping wood and something slightly disastrous happened. The last pieces of cloth that I had managed to salvage and tie to my private parts ripped so as of now I am completely naked. I thought about tying some of the hides around me for the time being but decided against it. The inner part is fleshy so it feels gross against my skin, and if I were to wear it the other way around then it looks gross. In the end and since no one is around I decided to stay naked and hide in my heat this guilty pleasure of freedom I am getting.
I decided against doing any treatment on the wood I have been cutting since I doubt I will be staying here for long. That and the fact that I have absolutely no idea how to treat wood. On another note, one of the trees I cut spurted out a thick amberish-red coloured sap. I decided to taste it which was a bad idea since it was so bitter I thought my face would collapse inwards like in the animated cartoons. I decided to mark the trees that had this sap and leave them alone for the time being since it may have some use at a later date.
I won't say I have gotten used to being naked but I must admit that feeling the heat of the sun through your whole body in this chilly breeze is really comfortable. I didn't manage to finish my hut the day before but by using a pair of pillars and a large boulder I managed to get a roof over my head. After checking on some of the hides they were ripped here and there. It looks like drying them just like that isn't the best method but I think they are still usable. Looking at the trees I had cut yesterday I also noticed something interesting. That bitter sap had become solid, however, it was still flexible to some extent similar to plastic maybe?

I decided to do an experiment and so I got to work. First I took one of the hides from the monsters that attacked yesterday and cleaned it in the river, then I made something like a brush with bundle of grass. With care, I collected some sap in a crude recipient carved from wood and with the brush I spread a thin layer of said sap on the fleshy side of the leather. After that, I left it on my drying boulder.
I was torn in between trying my hand at sewing some clothes with the ripped dried hide or continuing working in my little hut. In the end, I went for the hut since if my experiment worked I would have a better material to work with. I began my cutting planks out of the logs I had, of course, I left some logs for pillars and such. The end result were some crooked planks that were barely usable. I stabbed some pillars next to the boulder I pretended to use as I wall and began working. Problem number one is that I don't have nails and such in my possession so instead I placed another pair of pillars next to the previous ones with a small gap in between. Then I placed the planks in said gap making a wall. Repeat a few times and I got my little hut.
The next day I checked on the experiment which was a complete success. In high spirit, I began working on the rest of the hides, if luck is on my side I will be clothed in two days maybe one. Since I have been sweating like crazy this past few days I have gotten a bit smelly and for that reason, I decided to take a bath in the river. Cold! the water of the river as expected was really cold but I hardened my heart and went in. After a while, I managed to get used to it and ended enjoying my time inside the clear water.
Since I didn't have much left to do today I decided to expand my hut a bit and so I went back to chopping wood. After gathering a good amount I had my meal which was cooked monster meat as always. The attacks of monsters in my little clearing have become rarer but I still get a good amount of meat from them, however, in time I might need to go hunting. Another thing that happened was that I couldn't contain myself any more. This unbearable feeling of shame from being naked for a few days had accumulated and turned into something that I didn't know about myself. That is to say, I was turned on, a lot. I ended the day by doing something I had never done before and I enjoyed it, a lot.
The next day I felt refresh and energised so I got to work right away. First I collected the hides that had their treatment done then I began by making a bone needle. After that was done I wanted to begin sewing but I had no thread! I looked around but found nothing usable that is until some of my hair got on my face. That gave me the idea to use my hair as a thread, after all, I heard back on earth that a human hair has the same strength as a copper wire of the same width.
You may think that hair is too short to use as a thread but remember about my soul ability. I can just use it to make my hair grow at an unnatural speed. Without further ado, I began by roughly taking my own measurements and cutting the hides in the shapes of clothes. Specifically a sleeveless shirt, shorts and a trench coat. The hides I chose for this were black serpent hide for the coat, with the wolf bear lion thingy fur as the inner part since it was so fluffy. For the shorts, I used the hide of a dear looking beast, the reason behind it was simple, the hide was blue and if I did a good job it might end up looking like jeans. Finally the shirt I used the hide of different monsters to give it a cool looking atmosphere. That is to say, it ended up being red with black patters.
I feel proud of myself however there was something I didn't expect. When I wore the clothes the sensation of the soft fur brushing against my skin was too pleasant. I had chosen the softest fur of them all to use for the inner part and the result was this. The stimulation was too much and I ended up doing lewd things once more. After calming down I went to the river to look at myself and I must admit I look really cool. A black trench coat with a scale pattern with fluffy sangria-red fur as decoration at the collar, sleeve and jacket hem. The shorts went down to about half of my tighs with a dark blue colour and rough texture. As for the shirt, its colour scheme was the same as the coat the only difference being the pattern I maid with great effort. It isn't anything super complicated, I just divided the body into two vertical parts, one black and the other red with a bit of a curve.
My next project will be making a pair of boots and scabbards for Naru and Pyrka. Everything is going well, maybe in a week I will be ready to leave this forest and rejoin society.
