Chapter 9 - Been a while

‘Are you satisfied?’ came a voice.

‘No.’ another said. Its tone blunt.

‘Are you in pain?’ the first voice asked yet again.

‘I’ve never of heard of it.’ The second replied.

‘You deny it/me?’

Nekana had recalled a certain memory related to as when she was younger. Within the age of 10-11, she was often praised as mature. Wryly smiling, she disagreed. She shifted in discomfort, but it was never taken note. A poker face was worn wherever she went, she was just terribly bad at dealing with awkward topics and ongoing conversations.

She was terribly childish but no one knew. The brunette hadn’t anything she needed to be over anyways.

The sky draped in deep grey curtains as the heavens announced rain. From it, droplets of water fell. Refreshing, but dirty as haze polluted the sky. The roads dressed with transparent liquid as it formed a suit. The brunette haired girl stared out the windows as she saw this. They were like an army marching off to an endless journey, not knowing where it’d bring them. *Pit... Pat... Pit...* so the rain went.

Nekana’s palm were raised upright supporting her chin. Her head throbbed for an unknown reason and her eyes felt tired. Perhaps she was sleepy? She had no intention to sleep despite it, though. The smell and sight of rain seemed somewhat comforting. She indulged in the sound of it.

‘Do you have anyone you like Nekana?’ The voice asked curious, and fairly mischievously.

‘I like you, and her, and that person as well’ A giggle could be heard. The conversation continued in a relaxed direction. ‘Hey! I’m serious ya know’ a light voice laughed.

‘Yea, I’m serious as well.’ Nekana smiled sadly. Her clear voice could be heard throughout the room which was not too cramped or spacious in general. Its walls were draped in white and the surroundings included a single painting of leaves. Its furniture contained a single sized bed and a white wooden desk alongside an equally matching chair. Nekana was by the room’s window side where it resided. The bed was comfortably soft and blanketed with violet coloured sheets.

The person opposing her brought another conversation up as the two conversed.

Or in silence, they sat; The rain showed little to no signs of stopping. It was not heavy nor was it a light drizzle but the rain falling was a mild one. Soft winds blew but although Nekana could not feel it, she could tell through the swaying of trees. *Pit... Pat... Pit... Pat.*

‘Why not speak up? You walk in confidence. With straightened back posture, your head is also held high. I am unable to fathom such behaviour as denial and self loathe. With pride you cross; Furthermore, you know. ’ Came the unfathomable voice once again and in a strangely deep tone.

‘My honesty is not all that interesting.’ But they said I was bad at lies.

As the brunette sighed quietly to herself she voiced herself once more (She had sighed earlier, but it was soundless and unnoticeable). "Nonetheless, Its been a while. Where've you been?" Nekana stated, anguished. The opposing's voice alongside its mute reply was awfully familiar. *Pit... Pat... Pit.*
