Chapter 13 - Scratching the Surface

Nekana often thought herself as a rather curious person. Ever since a developing age where one was always asking. Her questions however, lied more at the scientific side and was answered soon enough through textbook, Internet and human means. There were some things however, that no matter how much she pondered and asked of it the answers would be almost impossible to find or non-existent in the first place.

Protagonists from novels or books she read (be it online or in real life) all had one common flaw that was found. Obviously, that was curiosity. This flaw of theirs mostly brought their noses into where they shouldn't or wouldn't get their noses to. It brought unwanted attention and situations. It is known that it is the second most troublesome thing after compassion. But in the end, the pieces would be put together, making so much sense that was unforeseen from a few or many chapters back; The casualties and unbecomings were often none at all or kept at a bare minimum.

Nekana, on the other hand, did agree that such adventures were tempting. But, this was reality. It was known all around, that wherever you would go, whenever the timing, sometimes putting your nose in where it doesn't belong wasn't the best of ideas. Well, that covers the majority of the time.

The brunette was curious. True. But not to the point whereupon she'll get in trouble and become the very founder of her own grave. She feared that that the funeral flowers brought may be ones she disliked after all. Occasionally, questions regarding the unconcerned may pop into her mind, it had nothing to do with her but was a mere 'what if' shed stumbled upon.

'What if' she died?

Now, hold your horses, donkeys, mythical dragons or salamanders, even the great phoenixes your'e on. Nekana was not depressed, suicidal or maybe even one that has experienced only the greatest hell on earth existing. The brunette was sure, correction, somewhat sure that among the billions of people on earth, they should've questioned this to themselves at least once. Portions of them, including Nekana knew that it was not because they seek it, or found salvation in it but merely for the cause of asking 'just WHAT lies BEYOND it?' It was for that kind of reason. Nothing less but chances of something more.

For those with precious loved ones they wanted to know or maybe ask, even if it's to themselves: how would they react?

Will they drown in sorrow and grief?

Will they have time flow as it will?

Will they be happy maybe? Is it the latter or the former 2. She were curious and wanted to know.

And then the brunette asked herself, she meant it as a joke, but what about the suicidal? The depressed? The one that seen only hell all that persons or being's life? Will they curse, scorn her to be even be able the luxury of such thoughts? She who could take their ever so serious matter so lightly. It wasn't even as if they would've wanted such a life.

Curiosity had killed many animals (not just cats) and through it there too was many salvations occurring or invented. It was human nature, and a somewhat good kind. It was undeniably a double-edged sword. The brunette won't pry any further.

Nekana projected herself floating, sinking maybe in a deep dark abyss with no platform in sight. Her thinking area, in other words. Nonetheless, after a few ponders she then put the subject down and resumed her daily activities. The 'flow' she claimed.

And she sighed.
