Chapter 38: Final stand

Chapter 38: Final stand

Lisa's eyes widen as she witnessed the overwhelming might of Yenza's deity form. The power he emanated far surpassed anything she had anticipated. In that moment, a surge of determination coursed through her veins. She knew that defeating Yenza head-on was no longer possible. She had to find another way, a strategy that could shift the tide of battle in her favor.

Her gaze shifted towards the two towering structures Yenza had been protecting. They are a manifestation of the Celestons' influence over the prisoners. Lisa understood that these towers held the key to restoring the rest of their powers, and if she could somehow destroy them, she will be back to her full strength with the rest of the prisoners..

With a renewed sense of purpose, Lisa sprang into action. She utilized her agility and cunning, darting through the battlefield with unparalleled speed. Yenza, caught off guard by her sudden change in tactics, tried to intercept her, but she eluded his attacks with calculated precision.

Closing in on the first tower, Lisa channeled her remaining neos energy into a devastating strike. Her fists blazed with neos energy as she unleashed a barrage of powerful blows upon the tower's foundation. Each strike reverberated through the structure, cracks forming along its surface.

As Lisa's powerful strikes landed upon the first tower, her focus remained fixed on her goal. However, in her determination, she momentarily overlooked Yenza's presence. Before she could react, a surge of cosmic energy shot forth from behind him, hurtling towards her with incredible speed.

The impact of the cosmic energy orb struck Lisa with brutal force, sending her hurtling through the air. The sheer power behind the attack overwhelmed her, leaving her dazed and barely conscious. Pain coursed through her body, and her vision blurred as she struggled to regain her bearings.

Yenza's attack served as a stark reminder of the vast power gap that separated them. The immense celestial energy he wielded was on a level she couldn't comprehend, and its impact left her questioning the viability of her plan. But even in her weakened state, Lisa's determination remained.

As she lay on the ground, bloodied and bruised, a surge of fiery resolve welled up within her. She refused to go down that easy, especially after coming this far. Pushing through the pain, she mustered every ounce of her remaining strength to rise to her feet, her eyes locking onto Yenza.

As Lisa summoned her last surge of neos energy, she struggled to stay on her feet, her body trembling with fatigue. Yenza, observing her determination, wore an expression of condescending curiosity. He stepped closer, his celestial aura radiating with immense power.

Yenza's voice echoed across the battlefield, filled with superiority. "Lisa, why do you persist? Can't you see the futility of your actions? This battle is over. Your resistance is nothing more than a feeble attempt against the might of the Celestons. I could end you with a single strike. Why do you continue to fight?"

Lisa's eyes met Yenza's gaze, her own fiery determination burning within them. Through gritted teeth, she responded, her voice strained but resolute. "Yenza, you may have the power of the Celestons on your side, but I fight for something greater. I fight for the freedom of the innocent, for a world free from oppression and tyranny. My purpose is not dictated by the outcome of this battle, but by the righteousness of my cause!"

Yenza scoffed, a trace of annoyance flickering across his features. "Righteousness? Your sense of righteousness is nothing more than a delusion! We Celestons bring order, stability, and justice to this world. Your rebellion only brings chaos and destruction. You're nothing more than a misguided criminal...A misguided Criminal that needs to be put in her place!"

Lisa's eyes blazed with defiance. "You spoke of order and justice, but at what cost? The Celestons may claim to bring stability, but it is stability built upon the suffering of others. I fight for those who have no voice! For those who yearn for a chance to shape their own destinies! I will not stand idly by while the innocent suffer under the weight of your so-called order."

Yenza's expression hardened, his patience wearing thin. "Your words are hollow, Lisa. You're beginning to sound just like that irritating Purgus... Let me educate you here. The world will not change because of your idealistic notions. You cannot stand against the might of the Celestons. Surrender now, and I may be merciful."

Lisa's body trembled, both from exhaustion and from the intensity of the moment. Yet, she stood tall, her resolve unshakable. "No...I will not surrender, Yenza. I will fight until my very last breath, for I believe that even the smallest spark of resistance can ignite a revolution.. The people deserve a chance at freedom, and I will be the catalyst for that change."

"(As long as I can destroy the towers... that gives everyone else a chance.. I'm the only one that can do it now..)"

Yenza's face contorted with frustration and anger. "Very well, if you insist on your damn foolishness, I shall grant you no mercy, just as you wanted! You can't say I didn't give you a chance! Prepare yourself, for your life …ends….. here."

Yenza lunged at Lisa with astonishing speed, aiming to deliver a crushing blow. Lisa focused her Neos energy, attempting to counter his attack, but the difference in power was evident. The impact sent her flying backward, crashing into the remains of a fallen structure.

Pain surged through Lisa's body, but she refused to yield. Pushing herself up, she realized that facing Yenza head-on would lead to defeat. She needed a different approach.

"You're just a pathetic rebel!" Yenza spat, his voice tinged with anger as he charged foward.

"And you're just a puppet blinded by your family's twisted ambitions!" Lisa retorted, her voice unwavering.

Despite her bravado, Lisa knew she was running out of time. Her energy was draining fast, and Yenza's power seemed almost endless

Drawing on her Neos abilities, Lisa took a moment to concentrate her remaining energy. A faint, glowing aura surrounded her, and she focused on the essence of her power. She remembered the advice her allies among the poor people had given her in the past, to find the strength within herself and believe in her purpose.

Lisa launched a barrage of Neos energy towards Yenza, he effortlessly deflected each attack with a wave of his hand. The celestial energy surrounding him acted as a shield, rendering her assault ineffective.

Undeterred, Lisa swiftly moved around, using her agility to avoid Yenza's retaliatory strikes. However, Yenza had anticipated her movements and was quick to react. With a single motion, he summoned a Celestial orb from his back and hurled it towards Lisa.

The orb shot through the air with incredible speed, leaving Lisa with little time to react. She managed to dodge the attack by a hair's breadth, feeling the intense heat as the orb whizzed past her.

Realizing that her direct attacks were futile, Lisa shifted her strategy. She decided to get in close and use her "Neo's Light" to blind Yenza, hoping that it would give her the upper hand. She closed the distance between them, her fist charged with neos energy.

"Neo's Light!" Lisa called out as she unleashed her fist up into the air.

A radiant burst of cosmic light erupted from her fist, enveloping the area. For a moment, Yenza's vision was obscured, and Lisa thought she had succeeded in blinding him. Then she went in for a strike with her other hand

"Neos Vision."

Yenza's eyes lit up with green-ish colored energy as he is granted vision to see through the blinding light with ease and block her attack with a celestial orb, leaving Lisa stunned by his ability to counter her move.

In an instant, Yenza's expression shifted from surprise to a malicious grin. He raised his hand, summoning his 4 Celestial orbs back from the distance that now circled around him menacingly.

"Is that all you've got, Lisa?" Yenza taunted, his voice dripping with arrogance. "You'll need more than that little trick to defeat me."

Lisa's heart pounded with frustration and fear. She had hoped her plan would work, but Yenza's celestial form seemed impenetrable. She knew she had to keep moving, using her agility and speed to avoid Yenza's attacks.

Yenza continued to launch the Celestial orbs at Lisa, forcing her to dodge and evade. With each attack, the ground beneath her trembled, and the battlefield became a chaotic dance of energy and light.

Lisa began to feel the full strain of her exertion. Her energy drain, and fatigue threatened to overwhelm her. She knew she couldn't keep this up much longer.

Yenza noticed her struggle and seized the opportunity. He keeps up with his Barrage of Celestial orbs, forcing Lisa to keep defending. She did her best to dodge and block the attacks, but she couldn't keep up.

One of the orbs suddenly struck her side, sending her tumbling to the ground. Pain shot through her body as she struggled to get back up.

Yenza approached her slowly, a cold, calculating look in his eyes. "It's over, Lisa. You're outmatched and outclassed. Your resistance was atleast alittle bit entertaining, but it ends here."

The battlefield crackled with tension as Yenza raised his hand, summoning a surge of celestial energy that gathered in his palm. The power within him intensified, ready to unleash a devastating blow upon Lisa.

"Say your Prayers!"

Lisa prepared to face the full force of Yenza's attack. Her mind raced with a flood of memories and emotions. In those final moments, she found solace in expressing her apologies to those who had been a part of her journey, a journey that had led her to this pivotal point.

In her mind, she sent out heartfelt apologies to her mother, a woman who had suffered under the oppressive rule of the Celestons.

" I'm sorry, Mom. I couldn't free you from the chains of the Celestons. I wish I could have done more to protect you, to give you the life you deserved. "She knew that her mother had carried the weight of injustice, and she wished she could have done more to alleviate her pain.

To her poor family, who had endured poverty and hardship, Lisa expressed her remorse for not being able to provide a better life for them. "And my poor family... I let them down. We struggled for so long, and I couldn't break free from the cycle of poverty. I'm sorry for not being able to provide a better life for them."She wished she could have lifted them out of their struggles, but her path had taken her in a different direction.

And then, her thoughts turned to Wendy, a Celeston who had unknowingly become a beacon of hope for Lisa. It was Wendy's statement, uttered in the vulnerable moment when the women surrounded her in the showers that had stirred something within Lisa. Wendy's words had reminded her that not all Celestons were the same, that there was potential for change, even within their ranks.

With a deep breath, Lisa's thoughts reached out to Wendy, even as the impending attack loomed closer. "But Wendy, I'm sorry," she whispered within the recesses of her mind. "I've held onto my hatred for so long, blinded by my own pain. But you showed me that there is hope, that not everyone wearing the Celeston name is an oppressor... I'm sorry for the anger and resentment I've carried and lashed out at you..."

As the apology lingered in her thoughts, Lisa felt a sense of release and clarity. She realized that her journey had not been in vain, that even in her final moments, she had remained true to her convictions. She had fought against the injustices she had witnessed, never giving in to despair.

Yenza's celestial orb streaked through the air with deadly precision, aimed directly at Lisa, who stood defiant in the face of overwhelming power. The air crackled with anticipation as the orb neared its target, its destructive force ready to be unleashed.

In that fleeting moment, everything seemed to hang in the balance. The weight of Lisa's struggle, her apologies, and her unwavering determination intertwined with the imminent threat of the celestial orb. The battlefield held its breath, the very essence of the universe seemed to pause, waiting for the decisive outcome.
