Chapter 2: Neospacian Fighters

Howl and Yenza make their way through the bustling corridors, accompanied by their mother Maer, the topic of their missing sister, Liona, arises in their conversation. Yenza's curiosity gets the best of him, and he can't help but voice his thoughts.

"Hey, Mom, where's Liona?" Yenza asks, his voice filled with genuine curiosity. "Why didn't she come to the ceremony?"

Maer, her blue-ish hair flowing freely as they walk, turns her gaze down toward Yenza, who had the same blue-ish hair, yet it only flowed upwards, a warm smile touching her lips. "Liona is currently undergoing rigorous training, my dear," she explains.

"She has a strong spirit and a fierce determination. Training allows her to harness her unique powers and prepare for the challenge that lies in wait for her."

Yenza's eyes widen with interest as he absorbs the information. "But why is she all lion-like, Mom? And her looks, with those golden eyes and black hair, she's like a lioness herself!"

Maer chuckles softly, a hint of pride in her eyes.

"Yes, Liona has always been fiercely independent and bold, just like a lioness. She must have inherited those traits from her father.. As for her appearance, it's a testament to the diversity of our lineage."

Howl, listening attentively, chimes in, with his rough sounding voice.

"Well, Liona is also stubborn and can be unpredictable, but she's still our sister. I'm going to respect her choice."

As the trio reaches outside the Royal Palace, Maer glances at her children with a gentle smile.

"I think it's time for me to retire for the day and rest. Howl, my son, you have proven yourself capable. You are most deserving of your new role as the prince. Take this opportunity to demonstrate your leadership and strength in the absence of the King and Queen."

Howl's eyes widen with realization, understanding the unspoken suggestion his mother is planting in his mind. He nods solemnly, responsibility etched on his young face. "Yeah, you don't have to worry about that! I'll do my best to ensure the stability and prosperity of our kingdom."

Maer smiles warmly at her son's response, her pride evident in her eyes. "I know you will, my dear. Remember, the power of the deities lies within you. Embrace it and use it wisely. "And with that, their mother takes off.

Meanwhile, Yenza's attention is diverted as he spots a group of Neospacians engaged in intense training on a nearby mountain. His eyes light up with excitement, and a grin forms on his face.

"Hey, Howl, I see some Neospacians training over there!" he exclaims, pointing in their direction. "I'm going to join them and improve my skills. Wanna come?"

Howl glances over at the training Neospacians and then back at Yenza, his eyebrows raised in thought. "I think i'll pass this time, Yenza. I have some matters to attend to, but you go ahead and train. Just remember NOT to disgrace our family."

Yenza bounces up and down, his eyes wide with excitement. "Hey, Howl! Watch me go! I'll prove to everyone that I'm the biggest, baddest ruler of the mountains! They'll be talking about me all day long!" he exclaims, his voice brimming with childlike enthusiasm. With that, Yenza waves goodbye to Howl and heads towards the mountain, eager to hone his skills and push his limits.

As Yenza turned and left the Royal Palace, Howl folds his arms and stood still, his gaze fixed on the magnificent structure before him. The Royal Palace was a Grand place befitting the seat of power for the Neo-Spacians. It stood tall and proud, flanked by majestic mountains on both sides. These mountains, known as the Training Peaks, served as a sacred ground for Neo-Spacians to enhance their abilities and refine their skills. Howl had spent countless hours there, pushing his limits and harnessing the power of Neos.

As Howl continued to gaze at the Royal Palace, a mix of emotions filled his heart. It represented not only his birthplace but also the center of power and responsibility he was now entrusted with as the newly crowned Prince.

------ Later that day

Outside the Great walls of Neos City, the training within the training grounds unfolded. Wendy, a young girl of only seven years, stood tall with her hair styled in a fashionable ponytail and donned a vibrant pink battle outfit that accentuated her youthful charm.

By Wendy's side stood Aerith, a remarkable creature that had taken on a humanoid form. Despite her transformation, remnants of her monstrous origins remained evident. Blue skin adorned with dark spot patterns. Wendy referred to Aerith as her teacher, a guide on her journey to harness her innate abilities as a Neo-Spacian.

Training with Wendy, Kolra, a spirited young Neospacian girl, trained with determination. Her black uniform-like shirt, reaching down to her shorts but cut in the middle to expose her navel. Short black shorts and black shoes completed her attire. Her signature feature was her spiky, fanned-out, black hair.

Alongside Kolra was her brother, Kayo, who mirrored her age and determination. Kayo wore a similar black uniform-like shirt but designed with a more traditional appeal. His hair, growing upwards into a single spike.

Under Aerith's watchful guidance, the trio embarked on the path of harnessing cosmic energy from within themselves. Aerith taught them how to tap into the boundless reserves of power that resided within their Neo genes, instructing them on the molding of energy into physical forms. Today's lesson centered on creating a concentrated ball of energy, a fundamental skill in mastering their abilities.

"First off, we're gonna learn how to mold that energy into something you can actually see and feel. Picture it like sculpting with your mind! Our focus for today is creating a concentrated ball of pure energy. It's a foundational skill that'll help you master your abilities."

"So, let's get started! Stand tall, feel the energy coursing through your veins. Close your eyes and envision the appearance of the stars, the swirling galaxies, and the boundless energy that surrounds this universe. Feel the cosmic scenery weaving through your very being. Now, with a gentle command, take some of that energy you envision to gather and condense, forming a ball right in front of you."

Taken from Royal Road, this narrative should be reported if found on Amazon.

Wendy displayed an extraordinary affinity for the task, quickly grasping the technique with remarkable ease. She effortlessly channeled cosmic energy, forming a brilliant ball of vibrant light that danced and flickered in her palm. The sight left Kayo, Kolra, and even Aerith amazed at the young prodigy's natural talent.

Meanwhile, Kayo and Kolra struggled to replicate Wendy's success, their efforts met with varying degrees of frustration and fatigue. Kayo's face scrunched up in determination as he focused on molding the energy, but each attempt fell short. Kolra, her brow furrowed with concentration, she tried to mimic the way Wendy did it, but struggled to gather the energy.

Observing their struggles, Aerith stepped in, her voice giving encouragement. "Remember, it's not just about trying to gain the raw power of Neos, but also about finding your own unique connection to the cosmic energy around you within yourselves. Each of you should try taking a different approach. Kayo, let your passion guide you, and trust in your own abilities. Kolra, focus on channeling your determination into your control. Feel the energy flowing through you, as an extension of your spirit."

Kayo nodded, determination rekindled in his eyes. "You're right, Aerith! I'll find my own way to harness this power!"

Meanwhile, Kolra raised an eyebrow with envy. Though she strived to mask it, a twinge of jealousy tugged at her heart as she watched Wendy's effortless success. She had always been the determined one, pushing herself to the limits, but now it seemed Wendy had effortlessly surpassed her.

"I will be just as skilled as her…watch me!"

With each attempt, Kayo and Kolra showed gradual improvement. Their determination and resilience began to pay off as they tapped into their unique strengths and discovered their personal rhythm in harnessing cosmic energy.

Wendy, who had been observing their progress, approached them with a warm smile. "You're both doing great! Keep it up! You can do it!"

Aerith observed the trio of Neospacians with an almost indifferent expression, her thoughts obscured by the weight of time and the eternal nature of her existence. She had imparted her knowledge and observed their progress, fully aware of the significance of these fleeting moments in their mortal lives. However, as a monster in this realm, she knew all too well the sting of discrimination and the scrutiny she would face if her involvement was discovered.

Aerith turned away from the group, her attention already shifting to something else that piqued her interest. She had fulfilled her role as a guide, but her involvement in NeoSpacian affairs only extended so far.

"If you find yourselves lost or in need of guidance, seek me out. But for now, I have other tasks to pursue," Aerith said, her voice trailing off as she walked away, her figure blending into the cosmic landscape.

Wendy, Kolra, and Kayo gather together, their excitement and competitive spirits rising. Kayo, unable to contain his admiration for Wendy, takes a step closer to her.

"Wendy, your energy manipulation skills are amazing! I've never seen anyone pick it up so quickly. You're Amazing! Incredible!"

Wendy blushes slightly, appreciating the compliments" Umm.. well, it was nothing really! This Energy training comes natural to me".

Meanwhile, Kolra, observing the interaction, feels her jealousy creeping in.

"Hey, Kayo, what's the big deal?! It's just energy manipulation! All you have to do is make a bubble of energy using the Neos thingy we have in us! I can do it just as well as Wendy!"

Kayo responded "Nuh-uh! You didn't even form a single stable bubble of Neos energy today! They all just blew up in your face! "

Kolra pouts while growling, but she knows that she has no proof that she did to back up her claims.

Wendy begins to speak towards them "Come on, Kolra. There's no need for competition in this. We're all here to improve our skills so that we can be useful to the Kingdom someday, right? Let's just support each other and learn together, okay?"

Kayo, determined to prove himself, eagerly said "You're right, Wendy, but a little friendly competition can't hurt. Hey! How about we have a spar to test our skills?"

Kolra shouts loudly "Count me in too! Let's see who can demonstrate the true powers of a Neospacian in combat!"

"Alright, let's give it our all and push each other to become even stronger!"

The sparring match commences, Wendy, Kolra, and Kayo position themselves in a triangular formation, their eyes locked on each other. Unbeknownst to Wendy, Kolra and Kayo share a secret plan to team up against her, believing that their combined strength would overpower her.

"Kayo, let's stick together and take Wendy down! We can't let her overshadow us."

Kayo nods in agreement, a mischievous glint in his eyes.

"You got it, Kolra! We'll show Wendy what we're made of."

With a synchronized nod, Kolra and Kayo charge towards Wendy, launching a coordinated attack. But little do they know that Wendy has honed her skills and developed a keen sense of intuition.

Wendy swiftly evades their initial assault, her movements fluid and precise. She counters with a powerful burst of pink energy, sending Kolra staggering backward. Kayo, witnessing their plan backfire, tries to regroup and launch another attack, but Wendy anticipates his move.

"You two might be working together, but don't underestimate me!"

With a determined look in her eyes, Wendy taps into her inner reserve of Neo's energy, gathering pink-colored energy towards her hands. She then unleashes a vibrant pink wave of untamed power. The energy surges forth, engulfing Kolra and Kayo within it. The sheer force of her newly harnessed ability leaves them momentarily stunned, their senses overwhelmed and unable to react.

Kolra, realizing their miscalculation, looks at Wendy in awe.

"You... You're on a whole different level, Wendy! When did you learn that?"

Kayo, still trying to catch their breath, nods vigorously in agreement, their faced joint in awe with their sister.

As the dust fully settles from their intense sparring match, a cloaked figure appears before Wendy, Kolra, and Kayo. The air around them becomes tense as the cloaked one emanates an aura of mystery.

"Impressive display of strength, but I can sense a deeper power around you, Wendy. You have already surpassed these weaker Neospacians."

Wendy, intrigued by the hooded figure's bold statement, meets their gaze with determination.

"Just who are you to judge their strength?"

The hooded figure smirks

"True strength lies in pushing beyond our limits, testing ourselves against tougher opponents. You're unsatisfied with the challenge Kolra and Kayo provided, aren't you? Then why don't you try me?"

Kolra and Kayo exchange glances, unsure of how to respond to the figure's words. Wendy,' however, refuses to back down.

"I won't shy away from any challenge. If you think you can push me further than them, then come on and prove it!"

The figure's smirk widens, accepting Wendy's bold challenge.

"Very well. Let us see if you have what it takes to face a stronger Neospacian."

A determined glint shines in Wendy's eyes as she bounces with determination. She stands her ground, ready to face the challenge of the mysterious Neospacian.
