Chapter 26: A Bit of Trouble

Chapter 26: A Bit of Trouble

**Knock, knock, knock!**

The urgent knocking pulled Quinn from his deep sleep. “Who… huh…”

Quinn lay in bed, his eyes stubbornly shut as he mumbled groggily towards the door.

A calm voice responded:

“It’s me, Gehrman.”

Click, bang!

Quinn shuffled to the door in his slippers and opened it to find Gehrman Sparrow standing there in full attire, his half-high silk hat atop his head. Rubbing his eyes, Quinn asked:

“What’s up?”

Gehrman was silent for a moment before speaking:

“Last night... the sailors were especially excited.”

“Cattleya’s potted plants overgrew her room.”

“Frank’s fish multiplied by the hundreds overnight.”

“They asked me to inquire about the situation.”

“Ah…” Quinn scratched his head, suddenly recalling that he might have sleepwalking tendencies. Last night, he seemed to dream about planting vegetables in a garden, but he thought the vegetables were growing too slowly, so he might have activated his abilities in his sleep.

It seems the problem stems from me! Quinn's brain cleared up, and he said sheepishly:

“Maybe… it was my fault…”

Gehrman stared at Quinn, as if sighing internally.

“D-don’t look at me like that!” Quinn blushed, “I was just sleepwalking!”

A demi-god’s sleepwalking… Upon seeing the bed sprout green shoots upon waking up, Klein deeply understood what it felt like to have an unreliable demi-god around.

“Try to control it.”

Gehrman said simply, then walked towards the deck.

“Okay…”

Quinn’s voice trailed off.

Quinn threw a few dolls onto the ground, which swiftly grew into two-meter-tall figures and rushed outside to clean up the mess left by his sleepwalking.

As it turned out, the consequences of a demi-god’s sleepwalking were indeed frightening.

Cattleya looked at the branches filling her room and blocking the door, sighing deeply. She now understood the downsides of having a demi-god on board.

With the help of the golems assisting the sailors in clearing the rampant plants, awakening the exhausted Nina, and dealing with Frank’s rampant red wine fish, Quinn’s impact was finally neutralized.

For the next few days, Quinn stayed holed up in his room, too embarrassed to come out. One night, he snuck out to enjoy the sea.

The scenery from the pirate ship was different from a passenger ship. Each sea area they passed through was particularly mysterious and unique.

Quinn wandered along the deck’s edge, spotting Gehrman Sparrow and Frank Lee seemingly admiring the view as well.

Quinn quietly approached them and suddenly spoke:

“Hey!”

The two seemed to have anticipated his approach, turning calmly to look at him, making Quinn feel quite deflated.

“As expected of you two, seeing through my stealth so easily!”

No, it’s just your clumsiness is too obvious… Klein thought silently.

At night, the clouds had thinned, and the crimson moonlight cast a faint blood-red hue over the deck. A hurricane raged on the left side of the "Future," and in the distant darkness, a massive shadow suddenly appeared!

“A sea monster?” Gehrman stared at the enormous black figure, uncertain.

“It’s not a sea monster, there’s no life aura,” Quinn said, puzzled. “Could it be a ship…?”

As the shadow drew closer to the "Future," they finally saw its true form.

“The 'Death Knell,' flagship of the 'Undying King' Agalitu.” Frank spoke with a serious tone, but not too tense.

As the "Death Knell" approached the "Future," the sailors moved onto the deck, warily watching the other ship.

Cattleya also emerged from the captain’s cabin, her eyes following the shadow of the "Death Knell," prepared for a sudden attack. From the deck, they saw the pirates aboard the "Death Knell" brandishing weapons, taunting as much as they could.

The "Death Knell" sailed by, pulling away gradually, then suddenly unfurled its sails without warning.

A sharp, malicious laugh echoed from hundreds of meters away, enveloping the "Future."

“Hahaha!”

“Hahaha!”

The laugh continued, sometimes hoarse, sometimes chaotic, sometimes like murmurs, sometimes like singing. Sailors on the deck fell one by one, clutching their ears in pain, writhing in agony.

“Enough laughing!”

Seeing Frank’s pained, contorted face and Gehrman’s twisted expression, Quinn became furious.

He stomped his foot, unleashing his power.

The calm sea suddenly boiled, countless mast-thick shadows shot out from beneath the "Future," rushing towards the "Death Knell."

Bang! Bang! Bang!

The two-hundred-meter-long ship was forcibly lifted, cold, sinister vines as thick as deep-sea monster tentacles pierced the massive hull, strangling the "Death Knell" like the noose of death.

Quinn extended a hand, his eyes cold and crazed, making Frank feel a stranger to him. He clenched his fist hard!

Boom, crack!

“F-fallen…!!!”

The malicious laughter abruptly stopped, the tail end filled with fear and disbelief, as if encountering the most terrifying thing in life.

The massive vine noose tightened suddenly, countless sharp thorns blooming, turning the "Death Knell" into a sea urchin, and then—exploding!

Cattleya stood in the captain’s cabin, almost unable to believe her eyes.

The once arrogant "Death Knell" had vanished, leaving only large wooden fragments floating on the sea.

The "Future" raised its sails and sped away from the area under the night’s cover.

“Well, the fallen mother’s blessing is indeed useful~”

Quinn retracted his hand, proudly placing his hands on his hips.

Until the "Future" disappeared from view, the area where the "Death Knell" sank slowly churned, numerous fragments gradually reassembling into the ship’s original form.

A faint whisper echoed, though much weaker than before:

“A child of the fallen mother…”

“Why is it a male…”
