Chapter 13 Only the Mother Goddess is good in the world

"Wowga!"

Under the crimson moonlight on the beach, a drenched figure was washed ashore by the waves. His eyes were hollow, and he wore a white bishop's robe stained with diluted blood from the sea, riddled with holes that made him look as if he had survived a terrifying shipwreck.

Suddenly, this corpse-like figure sat up abruptly and exclaimed loudly:

"Damn, I almost turned into pickles! Ptooey, ptooey!"

When Quinn woke up, he found himself surrounded by darkness, unable to see his hand in front of his face, and feeling an icy chill that made him realize he was submerged in the ocean, deep within it.

Fortunately, as a Sequence Five "Druid," he could draw sustenance from nature, otherwise, he would have drowned when pulled into the grey mist.

After healing the injuries to his body and eyes, he used his extraordinary ability to transform into a fish and swam to the surface. However, the amulet given to him by Old Bob seemed to have transported him to an unknown location, with nothing but ocean in every direction. So, he reverted to human form and let the waves carry him wherever they would.

Luckily, the Earth Mother did not seem to have abandoned him. After being tossed by the waves all night, Quinn was washed ashore. Though far from Bikini Beach, he had at least made landfall.

After spitting out the salty seawater from his mouth, he shook his waterlogged head. Now he finally had time to think about what had happened.

He sat down on the sandy beach, his arms resting on his legs, hands holding his head as he sorted through the additional knowledge about the Fallen Mother Goddess that had entered his mind:

The potion formulas from Sequence Nine to Sequence Zero for the "Earth" and "Moon" pathways... Wow, a full set for becoming a god, but both sequences already have holders...

The anatomical structures and living habits of almost all creatures, including extraordinary beings. Haha, can I now say "nobody understands biology better than I do"? Hunting extraordinary creatures would be easy, knowing their weaknesses at a glance, like having built-in strategies!

Countless potion recipes, such as those for restoring spirituality and healing the body, detoxifying and curing diseases—like the blue and red potions in games. There are even potions to cure or induce madness, and some with bizarre effects like "Strength Potion," "Transformation Potion," "Gender Swap Potion," and so on. These potions seem effective up to the level of true gods, as miraculous as the potions themselves...

Alchemy knowledge... Hmm, most of it seems like death-wish experiments, either involving oneself or others in the cauldron. But there are practical parts too, like the method for creating the Philosopher's Stone.

If you spot this tale on Amazon, know that it has been stolen. Report the violation.

Now I can use any material to create magical puppets, but I need to advance to Sequence Four "Ancient Alchemist" to control them... But, well...

Quinn stretched out a hand, fingers splayed, and countless cold, sinister vines with intricate ancient patterns emerged from the sea before him. They intertwined with sturdy wooden structures, forming a colossal humanoid figure over a hundred meters tall.

Barefoot, he walked into the icy seawater, his hand brushing over the cold, intricate patterns etched into the giant's body. Ever since the Fallen Mother Goddess invaded his spirit, the plants he conjured had taken on this eerie appearance. Tiny points of light emerged from his hand, merging into the giant.

Gradually, a greenish glow lit up in the single eye socket of the vine-woven giant. Its knees and elbows formed joints, allowing it to move freely. With a series of creaks and groans, the giant came to life!

This was the greatest gain from Quinn's forced descent. Using his connection with the Fallen Mother Goddess, he had seized the essence she possessed, a part of the "mother nest" above the starry sky! This allowed him to animate inanimate objects and command them!

If failure didn't mean death, I'd love for the Fallen Mother Goddess to "visit" a few more times, haha.

Quinn thought triumphantly.

The green glow in the giant's eye socket seemed to gaze at Quinn. Then, it knelt on one leg, extending a massive hand. Quinn leapt onto its fingertip. The giant stood, placing Quinn on its head, and began striding into the vast ocean, heading towards an unknown direction.

Right... I don't know the way... Standing atop the giant's broad head, Quinn conjured a wooden platform and placed three wooden candles on it. He arranged stalks of wheat and other plants blessed by the Earth Mother in their respective places. He intended to use ritual magic to seek the Earth Mother's guidance.

After crafting the ritual items, including essential oils, he took a small wooden knife, imbuing its tip with spirituality, creating a suitable space for prayer. Then, he chanted softly:

"I seek the power of the Earth;"

"I seek the power of Nature;"

"I seek the Mother Goddess's blessing;"

"Guide me to the direction of Bikini Beach..."

The "Sowers" and "Pharmacists" of the Earth Mother Goddess's church often struggled to receive accurate divine revelations, influenced by the Fallen Mother Goddess. Only the "Divine Favor" of other pathways could receive correct guidance, but Quinn had no other choice now.

Soon, a sense of direction emerged in Quinn's mind, guiding him. He patted the giant below him, prompting it to walk in the indicated direction.

Days passed with little change in the vast ocean, and Quinn gradually lost track of time.

After many days and nights, with the sun rising and setting, Quinn built a house atop the vine giant's head during its journey. In his boredom, he even draped the giant in a layer of clothing made from conjured cotton.

Dressed in a white suit and trousers, with a bow tie and holding a top hat, the giant headed north across the sea. Finally, from atop the hundred-meter-tall giant, Quinn spotted land!

"Stop here! Any further and we'll be seen!"

Quinn crouched and patted the giant's head. The vine giant slowly knelt, and Quinn transformed into a seagull with white feathers tinged with green, taking flight.

After flying a short distance, he remembered something and returned, poking half his body out from the clouds to wave a wing in thanks.

"Thank you! Until we meet again!"

The iron-black vine giant paused, raised the wooden carved top hat Quinn had made, placed it over its chest in a salute, then donned the hat and walked back towards the endless ocean.

Soon after, Quinn, back in human form, appeared at the harbor, staring blankly at the bustling crowds and unfamiliar scene of ships coming and going, muttering to himself:

"Where am I..."

"I will never use ritual magic to seek the Mother Goddess's help again..."
