My New Life as a Dungeon Core
Music, Sweet, Sweet Music

Music, Sweet, Sweet Music

2 years Since Discovery

_____________

The people are settling into their new homes, their new jobs, and their new lives. A few people thought that my laws didn't apply in their own homes, they were incorrect. The child abuser was abused, the wife beater was beaten, the thief was robbed. No one else tested the limits, and I've gotten quite a fan base for my piano playing. Word spread like wildfire and it seems every evening there is a crowd up at the church to see if I'll be playing that evening.

People were a bit put out that I don't play any period relevant pieces, or worship songs since it is a church, but they still came to listen. The fox girl is there every night. No one talks to her so I don't know her name, and she doesn't really say much other than mumbling to herself. She seems to be the only non-human here, but she was definitely smiling when I smacked Mr.HighnMighty around like a doll. Good for her, don't take shit from anyone, it's how I lived my life.

Sym doesn't understand my fascination with music but it's coming around after it got to experience the smiles on the faces of the people. I pointed it out and what he said didn't really make sense, I'm guessing it has to do with being a Core or something in it's deeper programming/instinct/whatever.

Sym has been keeping watch for me so I can enforce the laws when they're broken. But as I said before they really haven't tried anything else since the first night. Sym keeps telling me that people are trying to teleport here, but the interference from my dungeon including the above surface city prevents it.

There is also quite a bit more of my avatar floating around, all holding my scythe, all of them staying immaterial, but I'm the only one with a purple eye flame thing. All the others, all hundred thirty two of them, have blue eye flames, and it's not like actual fire, it's like a sparkle of blue light.

None of my residents have tried to go further into the Dungeon than just the town, or a peek into the oceanside cave. I've created a piano in the core room and I forced Sym to enchant it to be audible anywhere inside the Dungeon, so from the teleport trap to the Core room it sounds like you're right next to it, now I just need a drummer, an electric guitar, and a vocalist and I'll have everything I need to be back into my playlist like nothing happened.

What else has happened in the last two years.... let's see..... I sunk four ships that were firing cannons at my island.

We have traders coming in and more residents moving to the island as well. From what I gather they heard about the laws and the strict enforcement and came here to partake in it.

Some Nobles aren't as bad as I thought either, one guy, Lord Stick or something like that told his peasants they could come here and paid for the trip for any who wanted to go. Tomato Face on the other hand, the douchebag that showed up first here, he's the one who sent the ships to bombard the island.

None of the shots made it to land, thankfully- Dungeon hocus-pocus let's me consume things that aren't being held by people and cannonballs fit that description. The addition to sulphur, magnesium, and the other building blocks of gunpowder had me smiling almost as much as the fox lady was.

I've created my own room, completely separated from my dungeon to uhm...you know, do some inventing work.... Where uhhh... I don't have to worry about people discovering it... For privacy reasons of course. The results of my *cough* research *cough* were enough that Sym had no words for it. Things that go boom, on a scale this world hasn't seen, is what I'm working on there right now. As well as anything else I want to recreate from Earth.

The reason for my entry here now after all this time is actually because there is sails out on the horizon today, as such I might get to test my baby out on a real target. Sym assured me that no loading is needed after the shot, something about a trap reset reloader and being able to voodoo them out of thin air. Sym didn't specify if it meant my baby, which puts a howitzer to shame, or just the ammunition. I'm hoping for both.

I float back up, waaaaaay up to the surface observing the ships position and summon a pillar of rock just slightly higher than the ocean waves. I think about my baby and will it to appear and it does, slowly though. Apparently the bigger the construction the slower it appears and after five minutes Ive got a base plate, and four stone gears. Ten minutes later I have the mechanism housing and a hand crank, thirty minutes after that I have the whole thing. A rifled titanium barrel three feet wide twenty seven feet long decorated to look like a giant shipboard cannon.

With all the gears going through a reduction line it can be pushed by anyone who can carry fifty pounds, but it can only be fired by me. To fire it I have to reach into it and summon magnesium and hydrogen behind the shell. Then add some pure oxygen and a spark and boom. The cannonball in this case is something I was extremely lucky to find. Tungsten, very, very dense and strong the walls of my inventing lab can attest to that.

Satisfied with what I've made I fly over to the approaching vessel. I have a sign made just for this occasion and with a swipe of my scythe it is summoned, burying itself into the deck of the ship. I will myself to appear and point at the sign. The people already freaking out like it's the apocalypse, if they only knew what was pointed at them hahaha.

It reads, "State your intentions at the Island of the Dead or join the souls down below the ocean waves. If your intent is hostile turn around and leave or be destroyed." At the bottom of the sign is 8 separate pictures of the same ship, with an X designating them as destroyed vessels. I smile, although I suppose I'm always smiling with no actual facial tissue, and wait while the fleshy humans make their decision.
