Dungeon Town Beginnings

Dungeon Town Beginnings

Just to mess with them even more I've decided on my next trick. I watch the boats as they draw closer to my island home. Finishing up my designs and goals well in advance. I've inform Sym, and he/she/it/flying spaghetti monster whatever the fuck sym identifies as, was nervous at first but took it like a champ. We need that wood from those keels first and while I could just grab it now and multiply it I decided to be flashy. The plan is that as I go consume the ships supplies, Sym using the Dungeon magic bullshit I can't wrap my brain around- will then summon up a dock, some housing a food supply of Dungeon Chickens Dungeon Pigs, Dungeon Wheat, Sacks of flour and the basics needed for our arriving guests.

Then once everyone is up on the top deck watching the spectacle as structures just poof into existence I'll absorb the ships. Dropping them into the ocean to swim the rest of the way to land. A sign to greet them on their arrival has already been made.

Island of the Dead

A place of respect and dignity.

All persons permitted to live here must obey the laws as follows.

•Murder someone and the Reaper will come for you.

•Disrespect for any reason will lead to a bodily penalty. Slap someone verbally and I'll slap you physically.

•Everyone here is equal regardless of nobility, There are no servants.

New Boats will be summoned at the docks in precisely 2 hours after this sign is read, if you don't agree with the laws, flee with your life while you can then.

I settled to add more as I think of them. Sym went through and added the dungeon mumbo jumbo to places it "felt" matched the intentions I laid forth. The Spiral now features a seamless teleport back one layer of the spiral, only activated if the people are walking forwards. They'll walk in a circle forever if they aren't paying attention. The central room where I begun my second existence is a bit of a rest area and garden for those who don't want to continue further but just wanted to pay their respects to the Dungeon. It features a bench and a wonderful ecosystem/garden. In the middle of the room is an offering pit. Items dropped in will be added to the storage of the Dungeon on their own. In the corner is another sign with an arrow pointing down to the water feature in the southwest. The entrance to my maze and actual dangers of the Dungeon. My spiders are bigger now, and actually classified as monsters, because apparently they weren't before and I don't understand the difference. It looks like the boats are getting into range now. So I enter them from below and begin the plan.

"Oy Jerri, look out there at the island" Sam spotted the oddity first and called it out. As was the case with a pointed finger and shouted "look" the whole crew began rushing to the railing of The Maidens Song, their ship. Astounded as wooden docks appeared off the coast of the island that was their heading. Not instantly but board by board, pillar by pillar. The ground was leveled and a road came next, enrapturing all who witnessed it. The vegetation cleared and what looked to be a foundation set into the ground as a house started materializing, then another, and another. The island shook a moment then grew wider a beach of wonderful sand appearing to wrap around the island as far as Sam could see, and he was quite far up in what some would consider a crows nest, so he could see far, with the best view of anyone. More streets appeared, a jungle of trees appearing where houses did not and a couple of farmhouses off to the side. The old rundown house above the island disappeared and in it's place a black brickwork building started climbing to the sky.

Jaws hit the deck as a large castle, built itself on the island. Visible from the coast and beautiful to behold. The crew members enraptured by the spectacle didn't notice their boat getting lower to the water surface. Sam was fixated at first too. Not noticing the shouts from the below as each person was dropped unceremoniously into the ocean. Until it was his turn to drop. The other three vessels followed suit, with no other option the now wet sailors decided to swim for the magical land that had grown itself and buildings for them.

Boat by boat, group by group they started making landfall. Some helping their fellows and others not. The days surprises weren't over yet though. Several of the civilians that weren't able to swim walked out of the ocean onto the island dry as if they'd not had their transport yanked out from under them. Easily 30 people walked up from the depths of the ocean. None could explain what had happened other than an area where water could not reach escorted them to their goal. A POP Crack like the ones they'd heard only a few hours ago accompanied a large sign falling from the sky and embedding itself into the sand in the middle of the group. All seemed happy with the situation all things considered, except for one specific person who looked like he was trying to hold back from having an aneurysm.

Thomas chuckled to himself all in all his plan had worked, yeah he didn't account for how many people were coming to his island. Yeah he forgot that not everyone could swim. But the spectacle of it, the stars in their eyes as they watched a feat they had resigned themselves to producing. He considered it a success, especially when he got to see the pompous noble trying to hold back his anger. Red in the face a blood vessel throbbing on his forehead. Thomas resigned himself to torture this poor unfortunate soul thoroughly in the future, at least if the fool stayed on the island that is.
