CHAPTER 704
“Gency wanted to come. I‘ll take good care of her. Jack took iwo glasses of champagne from the tray of a passing werCI.
–You‘re going to take such good care of her that she‘s hospitalized again?” Cooper sneered.
Following that, Genevieve noticed that the smile on Jack‘s lips had disappeared, and he was seemingly angry.
Not wanting them to get into a quarrel there, she chimed in, “My legs have recovered. Coop.”
Coincidentally, a director came over to look for Jack, so Genevieve went with him to greet the man as well.
Although Jack hadn‘t filmed any movies in many years, he was still involved in the film and Iclevision industry. He had a keen eye and was skilled at envisaging the trend, so he had been profiting steadily in his investments within the industry.
In the past few years, renowned local and foreign directors, as well as producers, were basically within his social circle.
With a director taking the lead to greet him. producers and investors swarmed over. Some wanted to collaborate with him, while others wanted investment from him. Content © 2024.
“You‘re really beautiful tonight, Mrs. Valentine,” a producer complimented Genevieve with a smile.
in a black suit. Armand stood a near distance from the couple with a glass of champagne in hand. When he heard the producer‘s address of Genevieve, bis brows creased slightly.
Cooper heard that as well.
Casting a glance at the man, he warned in a whisper, “Jack‘s cycs are sharp. Control your expression well and remember your current identity.”
Armand said nothing, downing the champagne in one go,
Verily, it feels wretched to live with someone else‘s face and watch another man wrapping an arm around my wife. How I wish the professors Timothy found can come up with the antidote right this instant!
When Genevieve heard the producer‘s address of her, she felt uneasy inwardly though she didn‘t
show it on her face.
Seeing that the people were chalung with Jack endlessly, she excused herself to the restroom.
Shortly after Genevieve had entered a cubicle in the restroom, she heard the crisp sound of high heels against the tiles. Seemingly more ihan a person came in, for the footsteps sounded quite messy
Coco followed Sylvie into the restroom and slammed the door shut. Stalking to the latter‘s front, she demanded, “It was your doing, right?”
“I don‘t know what you‘re talking about.” Sylvic opened her handbag and took out her lipstick
At her nonchalani expression, Coco yanked at her forcefully. Sylvie‘s lipstick slipped from her grip, the tube cracking which it hit the floor.
“Back when we were on the cruise ship then you promised to put a good word in for me with General Zeigle; as long as I stepped forward and adımitted to having someone stcal Jane‘s medicine so that I could marry Miles!”
Glaring daggers at Sylvic, Coco continued snarling, “Yet, you f*cking tossed me away after using me and had someone send those pictures to Miles!”
Althat. Sylvic retorted, “Would it benefit me in any way to do such a thing? If you were to marry Miles, it would mean an extra hclper for me. Why would I stop you from marrying him? It was you who wanted to carry on with your godfather and ended up photographed. And now, you‘re blaming mac”
“Cut the act. Sylvie!” Coco then gritted, “Some things I only told you. No one else knows! You know that Old Mr. Zeigler dislikes women who are in the entertainment industry, so you first spoke well of me to him pretentiously. When you‘ve made enough of a fool out of me, you badmouthed me before him so that he‘d loathe me. He even thinks that you‘re a good and considerate granddaughter!”
Picking up the broken lipstick from the floor, Sylvie drawled, “You were the one who wanted to be with Miles, yet you were reluctant to break things off with your godfather. Therefore, you only have yourself to blame for the current situation.”
Coco was so incensed that she trembled all over. She lunged forward to rip Sylvie into pieces.
ot only was Sylvie a bit taller than Coco, but she was also wearing high heels. Thus, she easily grabbed the latter‘s hand when she swung her hand over, shoving her away.
