Chapter 265

CHAPTER 265

"Understood." Sebastian chuckled and stopped teasing her as he lay back on his spot. "This is not an ideal place either. The tent is too thin, and it's not soundproof at all."

Madeline was speechless.

Was she being teased just now?

Her heartbeat raced as her face burned.

She never thought that a man who looked so sensible and dependable actually had such a cruel side to him!

She was slightly mad as she gripped her clothes in front of her chest. "I'm not only talking about here; I don't want to do it when we get home either… Not until after the wedding! A-After all, in the eyes of many, we'll truly become husband and wife only after we've held a wedding and had a banquet!"

Sebastian was stunned.

In that case, he would have to wait for a long time, wouldn't he?

A wedding and a marriage certificate were different.

The marriage certificate could be processed quickly enough, but the wedding required a proper date and ample preparation, especially for families like the Harts. There were various requirements and things to be considered, which meant that wedding preparations would last around two to three months.

Two to three months…

He could smell the faint fragrance on Madeline's body, and he could see her perfect and clean face. Three months… What if he didn't want to wait that long?

His gaze fell upon Madeline's face meaningfully. Unable to bear it any longer, Madeline turned around with her back to him as she said in a muffled voice, "It's getting late, so we should rest. We promised the children to bring them fishing and hunting tomorrow, didn't we?"

When he saw her hide like an ostrich, Sebastian chuckled and stopped teasing her. He caressed her head as he did with Aldo and Buddy, saying, "Let's go to sleep, then. Good night."

Madeline was speechless.

Her face grew even hotter! Copyright Nôv/el/Dra/ma.Org.

She clutched her chest as she closed her eyes and chanted to herself, Stay calm! Stay calm! Stay calm!

She had to keep her word, and she couldn't do anything with him before the wedding!

At the thought of that, her face reddened even more.

Fortunately, she had her back against Sebastian, so she could blush all she liked. If not, she would be even more embarrassed.

The two stopped talking, and her mind was occupied for a long while before she went to sleep wearily due to fatigue.

The next morning, she was woken up by birdsong.

When she opened her eyes, Sebastian and the children were already gone.

If it were before she met him, she would be terrified if she woke up to see her children gone.

Ever since she met Sebastian, though, she never felt that sort of panic and fear.

She could rest assured knowing the children had their father to protect them.

This life was wonderful!

She changed her clothes and walked out of the tent.

When Emory and Leonard saw her emerging from the tent, they immediately walked up to her and said, "Mrs. Hart, we've already placed the necessities for washing up by the creek. Young Master and the little young masters are at the creek as well."

"Alright, I got it." Madeline smiled as she thanked them, "Thank you."

Emory said, "I'll lead the way."

He then led Madeline in the direction of the creek.

From a distance, Madeline could already hear her sons' joyful laughter.

The children were running and playing chase by the creek.

A bodyguard with deft hands must have made something they could blow bubbles with, and the children blew so many bubbles that they covered the whole place. The morning rays shone rainbows upon the bubbles in the air, and the children laughed as they ran after the bubbles. Their small and innocent faces radiated like sunflowers, reflecting how carefree they were.

Madeline couldn't help but laugh along with them upon seeing that.

When the children saw her, they immediately ran over to her while calling out to her happily.

Buddy ran into her embrace and showed her the bottle in his hand. "Look, Mom. Dad made this for me and Aldo. Dad is so amazing! He's the best in the world!"

His shiny eyes beamed with pride as praise for Sebastian poured out of his pretty mouth like freeflow.

As she held Buddy in her arms, Madeline looked at Sebastian in surprise.

She thought that a bodyguard had made the bubble toys, but it turned out to be Sebastian instead.

Meanwhile, the man stood by the creek. His posture was lazy, yet he still looked like a majestic king with a powerful aura.

The early morning sunlight spilled on his body, coating his handsome face with a golden tint that made

him look immaculate, seeming as though he weren't a real person.

Madeline was stunned at the sight.

She knew early on that Sebastian had amazing looks, and even someone like her, who didn't judge people by their appearance, had to admit that Sebastian looked exceedingly handsome. However, she was absolutely floored today.

Buddy looked up at Madeline for a while, then turned to look at Sebastian.

He stared for a few seconds and suddenly thought of something as he let go of Madeline. Then, he ran over to Aldo. While gripping Aldo's hand, he shouted as if he had just made a huge discovery, "Aldo, Aldo, look. Our dad is so good-looking that mom is stunned when she sees him!"

As Madeline remained silent, her face grew red hot.

Why was Buddy sputtering… the truth?!

Even though it was true, she still had her pride to protect!

She was so embarrassed that she wanted to cover her face.

"Watch your mouth!" Aldo reprimanded his brother strictly.

Madeline looked at her eldest son expectantly, hoping that he could salvage her pride.

Aldo looked at Buddy as he said sternly, "You don't just call men 'good-looking'; you have to describe

them with better words like 'handsome'! Mom is shocked at Dad's handsomeness! I already told you before that Mom only loves one man, and that's Dad!"

"Yes, yes!" Buddy nodded furiously as he agreed. "We don't have to worry about Dad and Mom separating. Dad is the best-looking man, and Mom is the best-looking woman in the world. Dad is used to seeing a beauty like Mom, so he won't get used to it if he looks at other women. It's the same for Mom!"

Madeline was speechless.

Don't they know a bit too much?

W-What should I say right now?

She stood where she was, dumbfounded.

Meanwhile, Sebastian couldn't help laughing as he walked over and patted the children on the head. "Since Mom is awake now, we can start preparing breakfast. You can go back first, and I'll accompany Mom as she washes up."

"Alright!" Buddy took Aldo's hand and nodded while saying obediently, "We get it; Dad wants some alone time with Mom. We can't be the third wheeler all the time, you know. We have to give Dad and Mom some private time, and they'll have our little sister!"

Madeline had no words to say.

L-Little sister?

My son, aren't you getting too far ahead?

She opened her mouth to say something to Buddy, but Buddy didn't give her a chance as he took Aldo's hand and skipped far away joyfully.

Sebastian watched the two run into the distance, then averted his gaze to focus on Madeline instead. He had a half-smile on his face. "A little sister?"

Madeline was speechless.
