Chapter 324

CHAPTER 324

"Sam, what are you talking about? I don't understand what you're saying." She looked at him innocently and continued, "The one who hired a hitman to assassinate Madeline, Quincy, and Joel was your sister. Why would it concern me? If Sebastian wants to avenge them, he would naturally look for Isabel, not me."

"Trust me, even though you have planned everything out, you are being too clever for your own good. Sebastian will never let this slide, so you'd better pray for the best." Sam was done talking to her and left the room.

However, Angie stayed back and went into a daze as she sat on the couch in the corner. She told Sam that she had feelings for Jeffrey and willingly married him, but in actuality, she wouldn't have chosen to marry an old man who had one foot in the grave if she had the choice. She was young, beautiful, and came from a wealthy background. She had received the best education since young and was a daughter from a noble family. She used to think that she had a bright future ahead and that she would marry into an even wealthier family.

She imagined that her husband would be a highborn young man whose family background was more affluent than the Wendel Family, and he would be an ambitious and handsome gentleman. She would get married to him with a generous dowry and give birth to an heir to him.

With that, she would be a lady of the house who would look after her children and husband while living a life that was envied by others. For the past twenty years, she firmly believed that it was a life that she would live.

However, the Wendels had heartlessly abandoned her when she needed her status as the young lady

of the Wendel Family the most. If they had the conscience and tried to be a little more considerate to her, they could have announced Madeline's identity after she married someone with her status as the young lady of the Wendel Family. However, they never cared about her fate and announced Madeline's identity to the public, causing her to sink into despair.

After losing that precious identity, she had lost her qualifications to marry into a wealthy family. She went from being a highly sought-after woman to a nobody. Since then, her life went into a downward spiral. Even the Colt Family whom she previously looked down on had abandoned her and chased her out of the house. Because of that, she had lost everything, including a roof over her head.

She considered herself a smart, beautiful, knowledgeable, and versatile woman, but having all those qualities didn't seem to help her case. She had racked her brains and tried her best to win the favor of young men from affluent and noble families, but she had unintentionally made Jeffrey fall for her. Since she had been well taken care of since young, she couldn't stand it if no one took good care of her.

Feeling helpless and desperate, she had no choice but to accept Jeffrey's pursuit. The bottom line was, she refused to be his mistress. Thus, she forced him to divorce his wife before registering their marriage.

However, both of them didn't have a wedding ceremony as Jeffrey's children were strongly against this marriage, so he didn't dare to have a high-profile wedding. Besides, Angie didn't want anyone to know that she was getting married to an old man. Just like that, both of them came to a consensus and lived together after registering for marriage.

Of course, she didn't say those words to him. She merely pretended to feel hurt but was willing to compromise for him, which made him cherish her even more. Although she was married to an old man,

she was living a good life where she had a stable income and someone who could support her extravagant lifestyle. He would give her lots of money even though she had fun all day without going to work.

In exchange, she sacrificed her young body and bright future as she had lost her chance at marrying a talented young man. Although Jeffrey was getting older by the day, she could only bear with it in order to maintain her extravagant life. Her hatred toward Isabel had deepened when she thought of the sacrifices that she had made in order to attain the lifestyle that she wanted.

Although Isabel was abandoned by Nigel and Dan, Sam was still willing to stay by her side and provide for her. It was apparent that she was better than Isabel in all aspects, but she was worse off than Isabel. Thus, she had meticulously planned for Isabel to fall into her trap and hire someone to kill Madeline. Being the idiot that she was, Isabel was easily manipulated and really took action.

As she wished, Isabel had been apprehended and jailed for life. She felt great that she could finally step on Isabel, and the woman would never be able to win over her in this lifetime! However, her only regret was that the plan wasn't a complete success since Madeline and both her children weren't killed.

Her anger would only dissipate only if three of them died. On top of that, the Wendel Family wouldn't be able to cling onto the Hart Family after their death. By then, she would try to persuade Michael and Crystal to let her return to the Wendel Family and regain her status as the young lady of the Wendel Family. Her gaze darkened as she clenched her fists while deep in thought.

Feeling helpless and desperate, she had no choice but to accept Jeffrey's pursuit. The bottom line was, she refused to be his mistress. Thus, she forced him to divorce his wife before registering their marriage.

What can I do to make Madeline and her children die?

The next day at Sun Garden, Joel only managed to wake up after 10.00AM. As soon as he got up, he seemed to be in a daze and he didn't seem like his usual self.

"Darling, how are you feeling?" she asked concernedly.

"I'm feeling fine. It's just that I feel weak…" He leaned in her arms and shook his head as he felt that his whole body was limp, and he had no strength at all.

"It's alright, you must've lost your energy because you're hungry. You will regain your strength after having something to eat." She then added, "What do you want to eat? Mommy will cook it for you."

Hearing that, he shook his head. "Mommy, I don't feel like eating anything…"

"You have to eat something in order to recover. Why don't I make some oatmeal for you? Do you remember how good it tastes when we drizzle some syrup on it? Would you like to have that?" she coaxed him.

Hearing that, he reluctantly nodded his head and said, "Alright… Mommy, where's Daddy and Quincy?"

"Daddy's in the study, and Quincy's in the bathroom," she answered.

Just then, Quincy walked out from the bathroom and was overjoyed to see that Joel was awake. He

rushed over and touched Joel's forehead. "He's not having a fever anymore…"

Quincy then lifted his head and asked, "Mommy, Joel is fine now, right?" He stared at her intently as he was really worried when Joel had been sleeping for a long time earlier on. He was scared that Joel would die in his sleep, akin to those scenes played on television.

"Yeah." Madeline smiled as she nodded. "Your brother will return to his normal self after having something to let. Shall we accompany him downstairs to get something to eat?"

"Sure!" Quincy held on to Joel's hand and said, "You should eat more later on. In the meantime, I'll accompany you!"

"Sure!" Joel, who was in his mother's arms, felt happy as Quincy held his hand. He beamed when he saw Quincy smiling at him. "Quincy, you're the best! I like you the most!"

"You like Quincy the most?" Sebastian had just entered the room and heard what Joel said. "What about Daddy, then?"
