“Are you sure about this? There’s like ten of us and one of you.”
Class 1A looked nervously at their senior stretching his legs. They still weren’t sure if he was overconfident or if he really was that strong. After all, the blonde haired student had literally volunteered to take on the entire class at the same time.
Izuku got into a combat stance slowly. According to Mister Aizawa, Mirio Togata was one of the ‘Big Three’ in U.A. High, and he had graced half of the class with the opportunity to spar with him. The other two, Nejire Hado and Tamaki Amajiki, were tasked to take on the other half of Class 1A.
“Don’t worry, I’ll go easy on you.” Mirio gave his opponents a wide smile.
“You’re obviously much further ahead than us, but don’t forget that we’ve fought pros before. Not to mention, we’ve also helped take down some legitimate villains,” Tokoyami said. “I don’t think you need to worry about hurting us. We’re not just a bunch of wannabes.”
“So I’ve heard too!” The senior raised his fists. “So show me what you’ve learnt. Now, who wants to start the party?”
Kirishima pumped his fists enthusiastically. “Thanks for the lesson then, Senpai! Let’s kick his butt!”
Izuku made the first move, bursting towards Mirio with a powered up leap-
“Uwaaah! Why did your clothes fall off?!” Kyoka Jiro screamed, covering her eyes as the gym clothes slipped off Mirio’s body like it was falling through water.
“Oops, sorry about that. The fine tuning is a little tricky.” The boy hopped on one foot, trying to put his pants back on.
You’re full of openings!
Wind cut through the air as Izuku swung his leg in a wide arc at full power. It went right through the boy’s face as if he wasn’t there. Izuku spun around, landing on the floor smoothly. He looked up again, just in time to see Aoyama’s navel laser and Sero’s tape pass through Mirio’s body as well.
So his Quirk lets things pass through him? What an amazing power…
“Went straight for the face, huh?” Mirio grinned at him, right before another attack obscured his body in dust.
“Wait, where’d he go?” Tenya gasped.
“I think I’ll start by taking out the long-distance fighters!” Mirio reappeared behind everyone, raising a fist at his first victim.
Jiro shrieked.
The sounds of bone pelting flesh filled the air as the third year student moved in a blur, knocking out half of his opponents in less than ten seconds. Izuku’s mouth hung open. Not only was the senior blessed with a good quirk, his skill and physical strength were at an insanely high level as well.
“He can warp as well as slip through things?” Shoji muttered in disbelief, rushing to help his classmates.
“No fair, how’d he luck out with such a good quirk?” Kirishima followed close behind. They were too slow.
“Power!” Mirio ended his assault, posing like a bodybuilder.
Izuku stopped running, sticking close to what was left of his teammates.
“Think that’s it for the long-distance fighters.” Mirio turned his attention to the remaining five students. “All that’s left are the ones who specialise in close-quarters combat.”
“I have no idea how he just did that,” Shoji said. “It’s one thing to be able to phase through stuff, but warping too?”
“He’s unrivalled. Do we even stand a chance?”
“Gosh, his power level reminds me of Pagonis…”

“Oh, you flatter me.” Mirio chuckled lightly.
“There’s more to his Quirk than we’re seeing,” Izuku mused. “Whether his true power is slipping through matter, or whether he’s somehow warping himself through space, he’s still landing his attacks directly. We should be able to counter him the moment he’s about to make contact.”
“That’s true.” Tenya got into a combat stance enthusiastically. “He’s not like Felix, you guys. We can do this!”
“You said it, class rep!” Kirishima’s body hardened as well. “Thanks for the tip, Midoriya!”
Mirio grinned wildly. “That’s the spirit. Come, see if you can figure out how to win!”
He sank into the ground and disappeared from view.
This move again. He’s probably going to come up behind me…
Green lightning ran through Izuku as he swung his body, aiming a kick at the empty space behind him.
Now!
Sure enough, the muscled body popped out of the ground inches away from his foot. Time seemed to slow down as his eyes met Mirio’s, whose grin quickly turned into a look of shock and awe.
“Impressive! But watch this. An ultimate move!”
Izuku’s foot went through his senior’s body as Mirio poked a finger straight towards his right eye. Izuku closed his eyes instinctively-
“Blinder Touch Eyeball Crush!”
The finger went straight through his face, before getting repelled outwards. Mirio’s body swung around, bolstered by the increased momentum provided by the repulsion. He slammed a fist into Izuku’s back.
“Guh!” Izuku sputtered for air, his head spinning from the sheer force of the attack.
“I’ve discovered that most people try to launch a counterattack just like you did,” Mirio said while sinking back into the ground. “So naturally, I’ve trained to work around such moves. Nice try, though!”
Izuku rolled on the ground, still reeling from the attack as more pained gasps filled the air. He stood up gingerly, watching Mirio continue to knock out most of his classmates in one hit. A familiar sensation ran through his palm again. He threw his hand forward.
“Eh? What’s this?” Mirio tugged at the energy tendril holding his fist back from finishing off the last person.
“I’m still standing, Senpai.” Izuku cracked a grin at his senior.
“Woah, you have more than one power?” Mirio yanked the tendril towards him roughly.
Izuku watched his opponent carefully as his body flew forward with the enormous force. Mirio raised his fist for a full powered punch. Blackwhip dispersed from Izuku’s palm. The timing couldn’t be more perfect now.
He aimed his shadowy appendage at the ceiling instead, using the momentum to change the trajectory of his motion slightly.
“Smash!”
The boy’s feet connected with Mirio’s jaw before the fist could reach him. Mirio released a yelp of surprise as his body did a dozen backflips before crashing unceremoniously on the ground. Izuku landed on the ground after a flip as well, smirking at his senior.
“Wow, you actually got me pretty good there.” Mirio rubbed his jaw tenderly. “Just as expected from All Might’s successor!”
The class got back up to their feet after a few seconds, congratulating Izuku for the sudden comeback and thanking Mirio for the lesson as well.
“I tried to make it so you wouldn’t see my willy. Sorry if you got a peek,” Mirio laughed, putting his shirt back on. “But anyway, that’s a taste of what it’s like to fight me. Well done, everyone. Especially you, Izuku Midoriya. You really caught me by surprise there.”
Izuku’s face flushed as he put his head behind his head sheepishly. “I… I just got lucky, that’s all…”
Stray footsteps silenced the class immediately. They turned to the intruding figure, before covering their mouths in shock.
“Hawks!” Tokoyami almost screamed in shock, beginning to run to his work-study mentor.
“Tokoyami, stay back!” Aizawa warned sharply, pulling the distraught student back. “Something’s wrong!”
Izuku’s eyes trembled in shock. The pro hero’s feet were broken and bloodied, to the point where even the bones had started to protrude out. It was almost as if he had walked hundreds of kilometres without stopping. The wings that used to be on his back were also gone, replaced by burnt stumps of flesh.
“Hear me, sinful heroes of this world.” A dead look stared back at the class. “This is a message to every one of you. Students, teachers, professionals.”
Felix?
“We have lived in darkness for as long as you’ve been here, and we have suffocated under the belly of this rotting society for far too long. You purge us from your world, labelling us as ‘villains’. You deny us the right to live as we are. No longer shall we tolerate this accursed Purgatory. No longer will we suffer this wretched co-existence.”
Blood spilled from Hawk’s mouth, but he continued anyway.
“You have taken our lives away for the last time, heroes. So I will take away your happiness. I will burn down your homes and your schools. I will destroy everything you love. For I am Sentinel, and I am your executioner.”
A collective gasp ran through the class as brain fluid burst from the hero’s orifices, before Hawk’s body kneeled over with a loud thud. Aizawa approached him carefully and placed two fingers on his neck.
“Togata, call the police. Hawks is dead.”
