“Not so fast, hero.”
Dust billowed from the crater as the figure walked out of the hole in the ground. Magenta light clung to his body, and two points of pink were glowing fiercely from his face. He swiped his hand, instantly clearing out the dust.
Felix approached the apprehensive hero boldly, blocking his path to a man-made cave behind him.
“I am here,” he said, getting into a combat stance. “To put an end to you.”
All Might closed his eyes, shaking his head slightly. “And to think I went through the trouble of requesting citizenship for you. Young Pagonis, why?”
Felix rolled his eyes. Great. More people pretending to care about him.
“Spare me your bullshit, All Might.” He did not even bother to hide the irritation in his voice. “Heroes are nothing but weapons to the public’s flawed sense of simplistic justice. In the end, people will only fear the very same power they look up to. You think these people respect you? They’ll turn on you the moment they feel threatened.”
“I don’t know what happened that made you think this way, but that is simply not true.” The hero unfolded his arms. “Those in power have a duty to keep others safe. You’re wrong to squander your gifts like that. It’s not too late, Pagonis. Stop aligning yourself with the wrong side. You can still be a hero.”
The boy let loose a small chuckle.
“Still trying to save as many people as you can, huh? You’re almost as naive as Izuku,” he said. “Here’s the difference between you and me. I don’t want to be a hero. I want to go home and exact revenge on the people who discarded me. I’m giving you one chance because you’re my teacher, All Might. Leave this place now. Retire, and don’t show up anymore.”
“If you know me- If you know what I represent, you know I can’t do that.” There was a fierce glint in the hero’s eyes. “I don’t wish to fight my own student, but I will if I must.”
“Then so be it.” Felix’s body flared with power. “But before you die, I should let you know something. I know about the secret of One For All, because I’m working with All For One.”
All Might faltered at the revelation. It was slight, but still a big enough opening for the psychic to exploit.
Felix wasted no time, sweeping a glowing hand at the man. Chunks of earth ripped themselves from the ground, gouged out by the sheer power of the telekinetic attack. The wind pressure struck All Might cleanly and pushed him back a few metres.
I hit him with as much force as a speeding train, and he resisted it? Not bad…
The man wasted no time retaliating. Felix put up a force field, bracing himself for the incoming mass of muscle.
“Detroit Smash!”
All Might’s fist drove itself straight through the pink bubble, shattering the psychic shield like a piece of glass. The psychic grunted, drifting back slightly as well. The smirk slipped off his face. If his opponent was only using less than half his power with that punch, this was going to be a tougher fight than those he was used to.
The hero vanished in a blur of red and blue.
Felix swung around, deflecting another punch. The shockwave rippled his cape like a flag in a tornado. Power flared in his eyes as he telekinetically froze the man’s movements. His hand trembled with effort.
“No… more!”
All Might broke free after a brief struggle and threw another punch straight at his gut. The boy’s eyes widened in shock. There was no time to create a shield now, nor was there time to move out of the way. This man was impossibly quick for someone his size.
“Guh!” Felix’s body tumbled through the air, soaring along with the momentum of the hit. His psychic aura had cushioned most of the force, but the turbulent air pressure was tossing him around like a ragdoll.
Stolen novel; please report.
“You’re the same…” White hot anger flushed up his spine as the memories came flooding back to him. “Just like her murderer… You’re all the same!”
The boy released an aggressive growl, slamming a huge psionic beam at the man leaping up to his position. He caught a satisfying glimpse of All Might’s flailing arms before a cloud of earth buried the man. Felix hurled himself towards the ground, psionic energy pooling in his fist-
“Texas Smash!”
The psychic swerved sharply, narrowly avoiding the shockwave that cleared out the dust. He could literally see the air pressure from the punch still soaring upwards.
“Not fast enough, old man.”
All Might yelled in pain as Felix dug a fist into his side, pushing him into a nearby forest. They engaged in a brawl immediately.
Felix furrowed his eyebrows while he furiously parried the man’s attacks. Strong as All Might was, he was no brute. His movements were that of a seasoned pugilist, and they seemed to be getting stronger with every punch. To make things worse, All Might was showing no signs of stopping any time soon.
The psychic flipped backwards after deciding he had shown off enough of his martial arts prowess and slammed his hands together instead. Two giant boulders were dragged along with the motion, crushing the hero between them.
Rock pelted against Felix’s hastily constructed force field as All Might burst out of his dirt jail with nary a strain. The boy changed tactics again and got on all fours this time, striking him from random angles as he darted around the forest. But even that did not work for long.
“Enough!” All Might punched the ground, vaporising all the trees in the vicinity.
Felix burst off as though trying to escape, making sure to fly close to the ground. He turned back. All Might was in hot pursuit, chasing him on foot at an incredible speed. He increased his speed, feeling the first sonic boom beginning to break against his face.
Now!
The psychic stopped abruptly and turned around. He grinned; All Might had already gathered too much momentum to stop now. Time seemed to slow down as psionic energy pooled in his arm. He threw a full powered uppercut.
His fist connected with the hero’s jaw, knocking him straight into the air.
The world blurred around him as Felix burst off the ground as well. Clouds dispersed as the boy reached the twilight stratosphere in an instant. He waited.
Sure enough, All Might’s tumbling body came into view. Psychic energy flared uncontrollably as he threw another enormous psionic blast at the hero. The surrounding clouds were cleared away from the impact.
If All Might made any noise when he fell, Felix did not hear it.
The psychic landed where the hero should have crashed, but there was no sign of him. He kept his telekinetic senses on alert, preparing to block the next hit. With someone as strong as All Might, there would be no second chances. A presence stepped out from behind him.
“United States Of…”
Here we go.
The boy turned around. Magenta flared in his eyes as he raised a force field stronger than any he had ever conjured in this world.
“SMASH!”
All Might continued yelling as though it was somehow going to amplify the force put into his final attack. Felix gritted his teeth, pushing back against the inconceivably strong punch. He roared with effort, finally mustering enough energy to negate the attack.
His surroundings were not so lucky. Everything within a fifty metre radius had been obliterated by the tornado that culminated from the collision. Even the man-made cave that All Might was about to enter had been blown open, revealing nothing else but a camera mounted on a solitary pole.
The hero continued holding his arm out, his body trembling in disbelief. He looked slightly weaker, as though he had somehow been malnourished for a few days. Smoke was also rising from his body for some reason.
“I’ve been reading up on the Geography in your world, All Might.” Felix sauntered towards the man, hiding one hand behind his back. “You like to name your attacks after the prefectures in a country called the United States, don’t you?”
The pink light behind him could no longer be concealed by his body anymore.
“Here’s one for you.” The villain smirked, aiming his glowing hand at the hero. “Ohio…”
All Might’s eyes burned with horror, but he had no more energy to move this time.
“Smash!”
Pink burned with suffocating intensity and began to turn white. A much stronger hurricane tore from the collision as the ground roared, almost as if the Earth itself was groaning in pain.
Felix released a groan as well, feeling a huge chunk of his energy sap out from his pores as the attack blasted through All Might’s entire body. Vision returned to his eyes as the blinding light finally dissipated, and Felix took a moment to admire his handiwork.
What was once a three hundred metre tall mountain before him was now reduced to flat land, with sparse chunks of rock that only betrayed a hint of their former glory. And in front of it lay the former Symbol Of Peace, now reduced to a mere skinny man in an oversized costume.
Villain Felix Pagonis swept his tattered cape to his side, walking away without a further word.
