Chapter 15: Stella The Life Of A Party ( 2 )

As everyone sat around the table, menus in hand. Silence filling the air, scaring away any waiter that ever thought about passing near. It felt as if everyone at the table's eyes seemed to be directed toward me. Whilst little red riding hood sitting beside me, stared into her menu with not a care in the world.

“Sooo, how was your birthday so far Mrs Cole”

“Ahem. Fine, just fine”

“Ah right, and Mr Cole I really wanted to thank you for the car you sent me also tge extra days. Stella and I really appreciate it”

He stared at me with wide eyes as if I shouldn’t have said anything. I could have seen the panic fill within his face. I didn’t understand why until I saw the shadow that only one other person besides Luna could pull off.

“Oh so you knew about it first, and even gave him a wedding gift without me, hahaha”

“Ahahaha, Let's just eat dinner. For the birthday person”

The mood was more on par with a funeral than any party I’ve been to, even though that number was small, and even I could’ve noticed.

As everyone just ordered and spoke within their minds. I had to break the silence, in some way or journey I had to go on.

“So Lucas how has the office been, ha ha”

“It's fine, just fine. I can't really say, just like you didn’t say about your wedding”

Come on what do these people want from me? I already apologized, do they want a written apology with a money gift to show I'm sorry.

“If I may, I already apologized to Mr Cole on behalf of Emmanuel, but I’ll apologize once more on behalf of the questionable decisions the groom made without my knowledge. I’m very sorry to all, please forgive him and I for being inconsiderate about the wedding.”

She said those words firmly, even making me forgive her over something not concerning me. She was always good with words, even getting us out of trouble in school by just talking her way out. If I had to say, it was comparable to talk no jutsu in that remark.

The tale has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the violation.

“I'm so sorry my dare for greeting you in this way, over something stupid Emmanuel did”

“We’re sorry Stella”

They then started showing her the overwhelming hospitality, like she was the life of the party. Asking her questions and they even started questioning why she chose me.

While I just had to sit there, trying not to get a remark about not inviting them.

“That was exhausting, but I think it went well”

She talked about the dinner the entire time we drove back to the apartment, at some point I thought she didn’t need to breathe to speak. She opened the door, quickly taking off her heels and dashing to the bed, plopping herself on it giving out a weary sigh.

I didn’t understand how she felt, as I just sat there like a mannequin from a clothing store the entire time.

“But Emmanuel why didn’t you invite them”

I paused in the middle of the room, not expecting an all out question to be asked so suddenly. I couldn’t lie about it either as she knows when I do, as if she had a glowing rope tied around me.

“Do you want the truth or the perfectly planned excuse”

“The truth, who gives those options as an answer”

I gave out a sigh, readying my answer. I never thought I would’ve had to say it out loud.

“To be honest I was scared that they wouldn’t have agreed to me marrying you. I alway saw that they were strict with Luna and Lucas and they took good care of me. So I didn’t want to disappoint them”

She raised herself to a sitting position on the bed and pulled my hand. While falling I didn’t know what she wanted, until I found myself within a sudden headlock.

“Who would be against marrying me, but I'll accept your answer for now.”

I started violently tapping my hand on the bed to show I surrendered, but she wouldn’t budge.

“You win You win” I said, managing to just get those words with my limited breath.

She loosened her grip and came closer to my ear, her breath just brushing across my face, while her hair flipped down making her face covered by its shadow, while I stared into the eyes that wouldn’t dim a bit.

“Next time, ask me before you do something like that, please”

“And apologize to Mrs Cole she was worried about you, and hurt after you didn’t tell her”

“Yes and when did you start taking sumo, jeez”

After those words the grip tightened once more.
