Chapter 7: 1st Spirit Ring {Labbu}

The guards are badly injured, their level is lower, and they're carrying me… hey wait.

Both guards start channeling light and destruction ki into their palms. Light is mostly passive, but if stimulated by something aggressive like destruction ki, then the light ki can be converted to lightning. Technically wind ki added will turn it into thunder, which is a lot more powerful, but it's already enough that both guards are able to use light and destruction. If I had light, I could also be like them, but oh well.

Both fired of bolts of lightning. And thus we defeated Labbu and came home as heroes… of course that didn't happen.

All monsters have a monster core. Most of the time, if it has a head, then it is in the area where the brain is supposed to be. As a side note, they can be sold to be used as various item materials in forging or alchemy.

Both guards fire lightn... I mean, shoot lightning again, but this time at the forehead where the monster core is.

Well no one is stupid to allow one to keep hurting you, unless you're a masochist. Good news, its health isn't recovering. I guess metal regeneration replaces Labbu's HP Reg. and only heals if the metal is damaged.

But I got what I wanted. Labbu roared as his remaining health plummeted to zero. As his HP bar hit empty, several notification box appeared in my view.

Sitting in a meditation pose, I feel the beast spirit enter my body. Suddenly, I become aware of a giant power being contained inside of me by some sort of 'gate'. I lead the beast spirit {Labbu} to where the 'gate' is.

???: "It's a shame that I couldn't live to see my revenge. But you will do what I want eventually anyways. I won't resist, but I will bestow a gift."

Was that Labbu? What is he talking about?

{Labbu}: "Every gate you unlock, you receive part of the beast spirit's former power. I bestow upon you the [Godslayer] skill. You will need it when you fight Tishpak."

Then the beast spirit opened the door. All of the contained power suddenly rushed out and spread throughout my body.
