SCP #: SCP-9098, “The corpse that breathes”
Containment Class: Safe
Disruption Class: Dark
Risk Class: Notice
Special Containment Procedures: If SCP-9098 moves in any manner other than breathing, they are to be shot in the head by SCP-9098-1 they are to be requested to return to being still within one hour, and is to be shot in the head with SCP-9098-1 after this hour has passed, see Addendum 9098.1. If SCP-9098 escapes containment, Dr. Patricia is to talk to it and attempt to convince it to go back to containment. She is permitted to negotiate with SCP-9098 using resources up to and including basic amenities and time allowed to move without being shot. In the event that SCP-9098 does not listen to Dr. Patricia, it is to be shot in the head with SCP-9098-1, which is to be kept within a standard item locker outside the entry to SCP-9098’s containment cell, which should be a standard humanoid containment unit.
Description: SCP-9098 has the appearance of a tan human male of around twenty five (25) years of age who recently died to a gunshot wound to the head with entry and exit holes matching the profile of SCP-9098-1, see Addendum 9098.1. SCP-9098 does rot, and has become progressively more rotten over its time in containment. The rot spreads at a drastically reduced rate, ratio of around 1:1000 timescale for rot on SCP-9098 to a regular corpse. SCP-9098 will, even after being shot by SCP-9098-1, continue to breathe and has shown to have the intelligence and memories of one [DATA EXPUNGED]. SCP-9098 will regenerate almost instantly from any wound not inflicted by SCP-9098-1, and even then only if said injury is dealt to the head will it be permanent. SCP-9098 is capable of regular motion of a highly flexible and agile adult. SCP-9098 is also slightly stronger than a regular human. SCP-9098 has shown to be almost entirely passive, but is incredibly defensive of its condition, origins, and has in the past become hostile when exposed to SCP-682, see Addendum 9098.2.
Addendum 9098.1
SCP-9098-1 is a 500 Smith & Wesson Revolver, chambered in .50 caliber rounds that, upon emptying all rounds, will materialize five (5) .50 caliber rounds in a free hand, pocket or other place on the user's person. SCP-9098-1 seems to be self-repairing, able to return to a clean, unmodified state within an hour of being reduced to slag. SCP-9098-1 is unable to be fired when aimed at noncombatants, innocent individuals, or children.
Ethics committee note: Who the hell said they could aim it at a child?
Dr. Patricia’s response: Junior Researcher Nathan stated that “a child that is on site has to be anomalous” after attempting to shoot Senior Researcher Alexa’s daughter on ‘bring your child to work day’. Junior Researcher Nathan will be sent to the ethics committee office for questioning and briefing.
Ethics committee response: Good.
Junior Researcher Nathan did not come to work after the meeting with ethics committee member Tracy, and has been fired for absences.

Testing log
Preface: SCP-9098 had negotiated permission to meet with an SCP of the site director’s choice, and was sent to test with SCP-682 on the basis of testing SCP-682’s reaction to an anomalous human. One guard, armed with SCP-9098-1, was positioned outside the door along with MTF Zeta-9, who had previous experience with SCP-682
[BEGIN LOG]
SCP-682: Another filthy human? Did they want to confirm how much I hate your kind?
SCP-9098: Is that what I am? A human? Huh. Thanks for telling me, I guess. Why do you hate humans, though?
SCP-682: Because they are disgusting, filthy cretins.
SCP-9098: That seems… Extreme. What about children? They’re pretty cute, though, right? Just little bundles of-

SCP-682: Hate ‘em. Even more pathetic than the adults.
SCP-9098: (visibly twitching face) Is there any demographic you don't hate?
SCP-682: They all behave like filth and taste like it too.
SCP-9098: (visibly shocked) You eat them? If they taste bad then why?
SCP-682: To get rid of them.
SCP-9098 jumps into the chamber holding SCP-682, SCP-9098 appearing in its hands (the guard outside was incredibly distressed at SCP-9098-1 having disappeared)
SCP-682: What’s that gonna do? They’ve tried worse. It won't kill me, you know.
SCP-9098’s facial expression appears “stony, cold and calculating” note the researchers observing through cameras.
SCP-9098: It’s not meant to kill you. Just bring you to hell.
SCP-9098 fires five rounds from SCP-9098-1 at SCP-682.
SCP-682 visibly corrodes from the points of impact, spreading around four centimeters in a sphere and SCP-682 wails in pain
SCP-682: What is that?! Why can’t I heal?!
SCP-9098: My gun. You aren't damaged, so you won’t heal. (SCP-9098 reloads and fires five (5) more rounds, and speaks slowly.) As. I. Said. This gun. Sends you. To Hell. (SCP-9098 fires five (5) more rounds at SCP-682). You won’t heal, because Hell nullifies any adaptability or healing you have. All you are down there, is a big target.
SCP-9098 continues to fire more rounds at SCP-682 until there are no more parts of SCP-682 present. SCP-9098 then leaps out of the containment cell, walks out the open door, places SCP-9098-1 into the hand of one of the guards, and uses their hand to shoot itself in the head.

Additional notes
Senior researcher Milton: I mean, I’m happy the damn lizard is gone, but fuck thats a terrifying weapon. I wonder why it doesn't do that dissolving thing when fired by guards, or fired at SCP-9098?
Ethics committee: Preemptively, we are prohibiting testing involving SCP-9098 firing SCP-9098-1 with respect to SCP-9098’s bout of severe self doubt, suicide attempts and self harm attempts while ranting about having used SCP-9098-1 (referred to as “The Godkiller”) against a living thing that was “Not strong enough to warrant the rage of The Hells or the Heavens”.

Interview
Interview log
Preface: A talk that Dr. Patricia had with SCP-9098 the day after testing with SCP-682, a routine talk to maintain friendly relations. These occur once a week, and SCP-9098 is not to be shot on the day that these are booked to occur.
[BEGIN LOG]
Dr. Patricia: Hello SCP-9098, how are you feeling today?
SCP-9098: Like shit, Patricia. I killed someone yesterday.
Dr. Patricia: Oh, no. What happened? It isn't like you to hurt people…
SCP-9098: It wasn't a person. The researchers called him SCP-682. Said that it was cruel to test me with him.
Dr. Patricia: Are you sure you killed it? It is known to recover from every single method of termination. Not even other anomalies have been able to kill it.
SCP-9098: I didn't kill it per se, I just sent it to a customized version of hell. A place that should restrain it’s abilities, but keep it alive to be tortured until the souls it has wronged unanimously agree that they have their vengeance. It can technically get out, if it manages to convince every single person it has killed, maimed or tortured that it is sorry and that they have punished it enough, but I hope that doesn't happen.
Dr. Patricia: What? How does that relate to SCP-9098-1?
SCP-9098: You mean The Godkiller? I shouldn’t have used it, given the options available, but it is far too late now. I do not enjoy violence, Patricia, but I will fight tooth and nail to protect that which is sacred. And if the divines should stray from their path, I will be there. Not the smartest or strongest, not the fastest or most cunning. Just me. Because the divines do not decide what is sacred, Patricia. What is sacred is simply that which is innocent. That which me or you decide should be sacred, is sacred to us. And if I need to prove my standing as the Judge of the Divine, I will do so with blade, bullet, tooth and nail.
Dr. Patricia: Okay, and could you please tell us who these “divines” are?
SCP-9098: Anything in the realm of the divine. To compare it to christianity, both Satan and God are divine because they are both from somewhere other than the mortal plane, the feywild (SCP-9098 mutters “fuck the feywild” under its breath), and or one of the other few.
Dr. Patricia: Alright, is it okay if I leave now? Will you be fine?
DCP-9098: Yes.
